This is one of the few genres of games that speed actually does matter, it's turn based combat: The higher your speed, the more frequently you can take a turn, and the more likely you are at cutting the line and going before slower units even after you finish your own turn. Anyway, great video, keep it up!
What are you talking about.... attacking MORE times per turn is SUPER critical to later game strategies. Speed is one of the most important stats in the game, but only once your working with at least 1-2 fully leveled 80 teams w/ full relic sets etc.

here is a short tutorial on paths in hsr harmony = buffs nihility = debuffs abundance = heals preservation = damage reduction hunt = single target rushdown erudition = aoe destruction = mix between hunt and erudition (they also like hurting themselves) there are exceptions to these sort of. like serval is a weird mix of nihility and erudition, seele (even though she can only target 1 enemy at a time) actually does better in aoe than she does in pure single target, etc. they all have like situations in which theyre useful and have their own sort of niches. i hope u enjoy penacony when u get to it bc it is really good if u can get invested in it but there are some allusions to hi3 which might make it feel more heady than it is idk
10:54 Speed affects action order. If March 7th has 120 speed, the enemy has 115 speed and Dan Heng has 110 speed, the order is March, then the enemy, and then Dan Heng.
not really, it's more of... how fast you get your actions back, take firefly for example most builds have her at 210 spd (after ult), and she pretty much moves after 1-2 teammates's action.

This is actually well done. Star Rail is such an excellent game. I was skeptical too because it was a turn-based game back April 2023, but decide to try it because I was burned out from playing Genshin Impact. I literally had to farm before doing the main quests because I know I would DIE. Seeing your gameplay without grinding for materials and constantly dying was what I imagine back then lol. After finishing the Belobog storyline, I immediately fell in love with the game that I grinded so much. One of the few things I love about this game because I literally don't have to wait for specific days to farm materials for my characters compare to Genshin (it's so unnecessary in GI). I hope you continue playing Star Rail. It's an excellent turn-based game. I very much enjoy it more than Genshin Impact, even though my preferred genre is fantasy. I also kinda like it's turn-based because I'm playing on my iPad and it isn't so laggy compared to playing Genshin in mobile devices. Anyway, nice video. Grind your characters at your own pace. Enjoy the world building. And most importantly, immerse yourself in the story and have fun :) P.S. I haven't played Genshin in a long time. The only time I played again was December 2023. I was really burned out for some reason.

Luocha will definitely save your teams' lives many times... I have him and he is my most used character. He has a passive ability to heal characters if their health falls below a certain percent. And also creates a field that heals when characters attack enemies.
@@Sebo0 yup, healers and/or shielders tbh... Aventurine is my go-to for shields, while Luocha is my main healer, though Bailu's ability to revive a fallen character is a godsend too if you don't have Luocha
Actually do use the friend feature since it will help a lot while grinding bc you can use one of your friend’s selected character and use them in some combats like when farming relics or fighting bosses
I really forgot on how incomprehensible early story dialogs is They trying to explain it with little text above the jargons, but still doesnt explain it fully Like stellaron "cancer of all words" or even mentioning Elio "destiny slave" I remember reading data bank on dan heng's room about aeons, factions and etc Its quite rewarding tho, since the lore is quite intriguing
the little text on top annoyed me so much 😭 like it just made the words even more confusing at the beginning. i'll be sure to read thru the data bank because i'm actually interested in learning more abt the lore!

Really fun video! To me this game is very special because I can't play a lot of games because of my disability. Any games that require me to have fast reflexes will be struggle and will leave me exhausted. Thus game has a great story, lovely art, fantastic music, good user interface (Thank gods) and it's a turned based game, which means I need strategy over being fast and seeing shit. I recommend trying to pay attention to the story. If you have doubts or forget something open the data bank to remember which factions do what. Also: before going to Penacony do the other trailblaze quests. Also some side quests here and there. I've seen some people that are catching up not do that and they'll get to a point where they see a character they don't know anything about in a major story because they were supposed to do a mission first. I'm mostly talking about • Ghost Hunter quest (probably the least bad to skip for now. You'll miss the great characters of Huohuo (smol bean), Hanya and Xuei (you'll meet Xuei briefly in the main quest before though) and more than that you'll miss dome hilarious jokes. The social media interface was so fucking funny. That being said it won't affect the following stpry too much. Still great to do. • Topaz's quest (DON'T miss this one or you're gonna get confused as hell afterwards. You'll need to get context for the IPC and other stuff) • Ruan Mei's quest. I don't wanna say too much but it's important to get the relationship between the Genius Society, Intelligentsia Guild and IPC. Also for characters you'll see afterwards in the big story. The "filler patches" in Honkai Star Rail are NEVER truly filler patches. The information you learn from them is bound to come up afterwards. Even with side quests with NPCs sometimes. The management events are also surprisingly fun. I'd recommend the animations and nyruad celestia trailers as they're fantastic for lore snd just pure entertainment purposes (full anime animations that shouldn't be this good) *but* I think you'd need someone to tell you which ones you should watch so you won't accidently spoil yourself.

Yes, the early game is a bit of a struggle, and even I went on a hiatus for a few months till April of this year. I got acheron, which wasn't my objective but then suddenly got like a lot of 5 stars lmao. Speaking of 5 stars, good job on getting Himiko! She's a great character for defeating 5 units at a time. I could go on talking about the various elemental reactions and like paths they follow and how you can abuse the hell out of it, however, I'll just recommend you to watch videos here on youtube about each character you own. They're very useful in guiding you till you reach Penacony. Trust me, Penacony has some of the best story I've seen in a game! Definitely looking forward to your part 2! The luofu awaits your shenanigans.

Just so you know the use of speed is for the turn order in battle, and yes if your speed is high enough and your enemies speed is low enough your characters can get multiple turns before the enemy gets one.

honestly her speed boost has been the difference between 2 or 3 starring MoC in the past
She's ideal for those who don't want to use speed boots or have trouble getting enough speed rolls to hit certain breakpoints.
speed determines how many turns your character have, if your character has too low of a speed the enemy can replace their turn with its turn instead

I was about to be upset at calling gallagher Trash, and then I realized that gallagher is just not designed for the early game.

edit: I just finished the video and I wanted to tell you, the next planet (Xianzhou Luofu) is by far my favourite. although some parts (like the beginning + whenever fu xuan talks) are boring, the lore is crazy

@@DontReadMyName9461 I like the xianzhou a lot more because of the characters. dhil, blade, jingliu and jing yuan (so basically the high cloud) are my all time favourites. I enjoyed penacony's story but found sunday's whole speech a bit boring. I was mostly texting my friends instead of listening to him yap. idk, I just love traditional lore 😭

To me this game is very special because I can't play a lot of games because of my disability. Any games that require me to have fast reflexes will be struggle and will leave me exhausted.
Thus game has a great story, lovely art, fantastic music, good user interface (Thank gods) and it's a turned based game, which means I need strategy over being fast and seeing shit.
I recommend trying to pay attention to the story. If you have doubts or forget something open the data bank to remember which factions do what.
Also: before going to Penacony do the other trailblaze quests. Also some side quests here and there. I've seen some people that are catching up not do that and they'll get to a point where they see a character they don't know anything about in a major story because they were supposed to do a mission first.
I'm mostly talking about
• Ghost Hunter quest (probably the least bad to skip for now. You'll miss the great characters of Huohuo (smol bean), Hanya and Xuei (you'll meet Xuei briefly in the main quest before though) and more than that you'll miss dome hilarious jokes. The social media interface was so fucking funny. That being said it won't affect the following stpry too much. Still great to do.
• Topaz's quest (DON'T miss this one or you're gonna get confused as hell afterwards. You'll need to get context for the IPC and other stuff)
• Ruan Mei's quest. I don't wanna say too much but it's important to get the relationship between the Genius Society, Intelligentsia Guild and IPC. Also for characters you'll see afterwards in the big story.
The "filler patches" in Honkai Star Rail are NEVER truly filler patches. The information you learn from them is bound to come up afterwards. Even with side quests with NPCs sometimes.
The management events are also surprisingly fun.
I'd recommend the animations and nyruad celestia trailers as they're fantastic for lore snd just pure entertainment purposes (full anime animations that shouldn't be this good) *but* I think you'd need someone to tell you which ones you should watch so you won't accidently spoil yourself.

Anywho, I'm glad you've liked HSR so far! Yes, the early game is a bit of a struggle, and even I went on a hiatus for a few months till April of this year. I got acheron, which wasn't my objective but then suddenly got like a lot of 5 stars lmao. Speaking of 5 stars, good job on getting Himiko! She's a great character for defeating 5 units at a time. I could go on talking about the various elemental reactions and like paths they follow and how you can abuse the hell out of it, however, I'll just recommend you to watch videos here on youtube about each character you own. They're very useful in guiding you till you reach Penacony.
Trust me, Penacony has some of the best story I've seen in a game! Definitely looking forward to your part 2! The luofu awaits your shenanigans.

Just so you know the use of speed is for the turn order in battle, and yes if your speed is high enough and your enemies speed is low enough your characters can get multiple turns before the enemy gets one.
If you have himeko and Herta on the same team it doesn't matter if your speed stats are low or high
@@JavenJC69 i mean it still does because those are extra turns, extra turn are outside of speed and aren't the characters actual turns.
