Just when you think you have it bad you see a basement like that and count your blessings. I’ve seen my share with 35 years in the hvac business. I’m not ashamed of any of my prior service but think you guys are braver than me recording and posting your work. Hats off to you .
That looked like a terrible mess. The water really did a number on that unit; where was it coming from? Bad install, plumbing leak, recent rain in an uncapped vent, or...? Not a Curtis call; if one of his, you'd have heard a chirping smoke alarm.
Looks like HVAC GUY Customer. Owner needs to clean that filthy pig sty before you install new unit. Absolutely disgusting! How can people live like that,
2:28 "I hope he's down there filming a video, or else he's talking to himself pretty good." 🤣🤣🤣😎👍
The thing you didn't know what it is... it's a surge protector for the phone line from about 1940
That thing in the rafters is a telephone company fuse and surge protector when there were wired telephones.
Just finished watching Curtis
That is an old telephone lightning arrestor.

As my home inspector put it, "Signs of past water intrusion are present".
That basement had to flood at some point
Thanks for the Video Sir!
That’s a Curtis job for sure .

Looks like it was wetter than some of the crawlspaces you've been in. Yikes.
