You guys are 100% right for wanting a perfect knife especially for that price. I'm glad things worked out with the warranty department. They do a pretty good job.
A beautiful 940 & Nakamura!! Glad they got it all tuned up! Bummer you had to send it in from the get go. The limited Bailout is nice, but I have to lean towards that 940! I have had good results with Benchmade Lifesharp Warranty.
Hey Frankie and Bird!!! I would have done the same thing. It’s good to see that Benchmade honored their warranty without any hassle. Many collectors I know are shocked at how expensive the knives from this brand have become. I own many Benchmades and like the action on them. Never had any that stiff of action. Great video series!!! Y’all are the best!!!😁👍
Been waiting on this update. Glad y’all had a satisfactory warranty experience. I struck gold with my Shot Show Bailout. It was centered, grind symmetrical and best action I’ve ever had on a Benchmade. I was really nervous too before I got it because I’d seen some complaints about various issues in the Benchmade sub on Reddit, but couldn’t pass it up when I saw the army exchange was selling them for well below retail.
@@charlessalmond7076 Yeah, when you get a good one they’re excellent, but I’ve seen pics of more than one that came with a curved blade or a super sloppy grind.
About 7--8 years ago I had an old D-2 mini grip that was completely neglected. It had rusted screws, liners, blade was chipped, and would barely open or close. Sent it to BM, and received it back within 2 weeks and it looked almost brand new. According to the work sheet, they replaced everything but the blade (they sharpened out the chips), and handle scales. It was a top notch service experience.
The Nakamura is one of the first Benchmades, and therefore one of the first knives I ever bought (I bought a Gerber Gaitor earlier), and I still have it! It’s a great knife!
Glad it came back good! Also Benchmades are a bit tricky to take apart and especially put back together again, and it looked like it really needed that cleaning and adjustment.
I bought a Benchmade Delta Raider fixed blade a bunch of years back. Benchmade took it and sharpened it up for me for free. My list of excellent customer service experiences are Benchmade, Gerber, Buck, Sig Sauer, Colt, S&W, and even Kizer. Poor CS is SOG after they were sold to the same company that owns Cold Steel.
Guys… of course you send it back, it’s a $300 Benchmade. Listen, I return everything if it’s not to my liking. I returned a stale tasting pie last week lol got my money back. Plus it’s great advertising for Benchmade that they honored your warranty. If I’m not happy with a purchase I send it or return it. It’s your money and who wants a knife especially for $300 that you don’t like and would always be pissed and probably not EDC it. Nice looking knife👊🏻
I have the same knife and mine also came stiff, but i adjusted the pivot and it didn't take much and now its perfect. I really love this version of the bailout. The 3v and aluminum handle go well together and the splash of color is nice 👌
That's great. I've sent a 940 back I couldn't get centered at all. Was returned with a brand new blade. One note, lifesharp is only lube and sharpen. They will not disassemble and clean internals. Only warranty will be the full service. Learned the hardway when a user mini barrage came back.😅
I visited knife retailer 2weeks ago and they had several of these exclusive bailouts for only $200! However, I had watched your vid and the first thing I said is I need to check out retraction action. The first one I tried was also stiff so I went with a Spyderco. I may go back later this month and pick one up but will cherry pick a good action bailout.
I would still use low expectations, I’m sure your experience went well because you specifically told them about the problems. However my one time which yes could be a fluke was sending an osborne in for new springs, and it did NOT come back with as good of action as it went in with.
I’m glad you had a good experience with Benchmade’s warrant. I cannot say I had the same. I sent my bugout 535BK-4 in for lock rock, and got it back with absolutely nothing doneto it.
Serious question i bought a bugout and want to customize it, if i was to need to send it in for warranty and put it back to original stock form could benchamde tell and in turn not fix the issue?
I bought my son a bugout for Christmas some years ago, and we upgraded the scales. An omega spring broke, so I swapped the handle scales back, filled out the paperwork, and sent it off. Benchmade fixed it with no issue.
The original box is a significant part of the knife as far as I’m concerned. As a collector, I want everything that came with a knife, so that future owners can also get the “new knife experience…” I think a used knife with all its packaging, etc., is worth $10-$100 more, depending on the cost of the knife, to collectors.
Right, I like the looks of the bailout but if a person buys a bailout they could get titanium scales of etsy with badass laser etching for $150ish but that puts ya at $400ish for it. That is still alot of money in m house hold.
I ❤ a happy ending.
You did the right thing. They are responsible for selling a knife in good working order.
Very nice, I’m glad the warranty repair worked out for you. Enjoy that knife! 👍🔪

Yay! Love a happy ending
I got one 3 months ago . I have the same issue and I hadn’t noticed until I saw this video . I will send it in for adjustment .

Whew! The suspense was killing me! Yay 😁!

Mines perfect as well. I think most of the online Benchmade haters have never even owned one.

Yeah warranty testimonials❤

Good job by Benchade..

Frankie, speed kills
Great video guys!!!!
Welcome to the DS Life!! 😂👊🏼
Yay! Love a happy ending! Great-looking knife. I have a Griptilian, but looking for upgraded scales.
I polished the washers on my two Bailouts (M4 and Shot Show) and they are super smooth and drop shut.
Good deal guys, glad you got it back in the condition, you should have received it in the first place. Great video. Thanks

Sounds like you had the omega springs everyone says they want , there's nothing like having a well tuned one

That’s a pretty good deal in our opinion. Make sure the action isn’t too stiff but even if it is you can get it adjusted
Get you a TRM Shadow and you'll be very happy 😊
Great video!
The more you played with it the stiffer it got ?
You two are cute 😄
🙏 🙏
I want to get that new crkt.

I had so many Benchmades, including the Nakamura. Sold everyone of them, even the old AFCK! No regrets.
I'm surprised y'all don't have the Carbon Fiber S90V Nakamura
I used to have it. :( -Frankie
Cute video. What make/model of self driving car are you in?
Not sure it has a self driving mode but her Mini Cooper is full electric ⚡️ 😛
💖💖💖
👍👍👍👍👍
It's a miracle!

HEY‼
Don 👋 👋
Your Moms Nakamura folder is really smooth that’s a nice knife , the BM shot show orange and teal look cool as well.
Glad they fixed their product and did it quickly, did they cover shipping both ways ? Enjoy your No name brand spam, Thanks Guys 😎
Cost me 40 bucks to send and return my chris reeve
👋
1st 🥇
try the kizer escort if you want smooth action. benchmade too expensive
Damn red lock tight 😢
Should be better for 6 hundo.
Sounds like they used red loctite on that pivot.
It was stiff and he played with it
love the shape, hate the colour.
I hate that bench made won't replace my glass breaker pummel with a normal pommel.
I dont own any tanto style blades. I want that knife. Bad timing.
Non-Spam! No. You should get a can of mackerel.
I have the same shot show bailout and it still sucks after warranty repair.
Sorry to hear that 😔
I'm number one 😮
3rd 🥉
Yo! Sup guys!
2nd 🥈
They’ve just jumped the shark with that titanium bailout price. Simply looney. So bad it’s actually funny.

Your right, anyone that is serious about any collection loves the box or any papers or documents that came with the item
Wanna hear a joke?
A $600 Titanium Bailout
Right, I like the looks of the bailout but if a person buys a bailout they could get titanium scales of etsy with badass laser etching for $150ish but that puts ya at $400ish for it. That is still alot of money in m house hold.

Hey
👋 👋
spam is probably better for you than slim jims.
I believe that, forced with the lesser of two evils, you are probably not wrong.
Spam musabi
Generic Spam??? Is there such a monstrosity??
Benchmade 🤢🤮
I don't buty Benchmade anymore.
They've lost their collective marbles in price to value.
The brand has turned into overrated, overpriced garbage.
