Central Park for me has alway’s been a place to forget your problem’s and enjoy the breeze and the multitude of people of all nationalities . A Woodstock of good times . From Folk music to Rocken Roll and Latin salsa . Central Park the greatest place to be .
Wow, where did you find this video? We need more videos like this. These were my times, brings back many great memories. Thanks a million. Frankie Dante and his group Flamboyan were magnificent. My goodness, all those beautiful ladies at Central Park. Great times!
My favorite music, and the type of salsa I listen to on a regular basis . . . .. . Damn why I wasn't born on that era! What a relic this archive, thank you!
Those were the day's. I grew up in NYC went to central park back then on Sundays. To use to jam in the park being with friends from our area south bronx. We we're all musicians. This video shows musicians that were and still are the best of the time. I moved to. PR 1971 I' am now 76. I will never forget the time or these musicians , singers, and the orchestras. Tito from NY and PR.
Just tremendous historical footage. Digging on the interviews conducted by the master MC Izzy Sanabria. Hilarious back and forth with the German babe. Fantastic sense of community in those days … such a soulful mix of lovely folks. Frankie Dante was a unique artist, what a beautiful group of talented young musicians of the day. I recognize a few familiar faces with Frankie’s band. Chickie Fuente (Trombone) also played with Joe Bataan. I believe Markolino Dimond (RIP) on Piano. Felipe Luciano who did spoken word, and hanging In the background, Ralph Mercado (RIP). Larry Harlow (RIP) and the band were cooking! Eddie “Guagua” Rivera (RIP) on bass brought a ton of goodness to the table. Seguida rocked!!! The legendary Eddie Palmieri with Quintana (RIP), his brother Charlie (RIP), the Gonzalez brothers Andy (RIP) and Jerry (RIP), and Victor Paz (RIP) were explosive. WOW!!! And of course, La Lupe (RIP) was absolutely EN FUEGO!!! So many of these fine musicians made their transition but we are so fortunate to have this footage to help cement their legacy. BIG GRACIAS for this archival footage. MORE MORE MORE !!!

Gran año, gran ciudad y grandes musicos.
The only ones I recognize after Ralph Mercado, LaLuPe, Felipe Luciano, Issi Sanabria and ??? ReynaldoGeorge are Marcolino, Eddie guagua and who I believe is OscarHernandez? Of course! Harlow & Orquestra . Maybe FANIA OurLatinThing?
Iam like very good 👍. Coronel Rafael Tomás Fernandez Dominguez y Coronel Lora Fernandez con Coronel Caamaño Deño y el Fiero Lalane Jose ellos viven. Narciso Castillo Compositor
13:12 I love that Ray Barretto song he quotes. Heavy upload! Anyone know the story of how this show came to be filmed / videotaped? I love the raw sound of live salsa more than some of the studio albums by the same performers.

This is a real good latin concert at my hometown New York City where lots & lots of people came by at Central Park in the early 1970's to see real good shows in the old days. Especially performers where every musicians & singers are Puerto Ricans & Dominicans too when they're on stage playing Salsa Music. For all Caribeño Latinos but exactly like Latin Woodstock in NYC🇵🇷🇩🇴🗽🏙️🏞️🎉🎊🎈🎤🪘🪇🎹🎸🎺🎷🎵🎶

I have always thought it was Nancy Rodriguez who used to have a program at WBAI 99.5fm in NYC
Yes! That’s her. I couldn’t remember her name initially. I read in the comments on another video that she passed away?
Was that larry harlow in there?
