Remember, Medicare will never call you unless you requested a call back from 1-800-Medicare. They also will never come to your door. If you need to speak with Social Security, you’ll receive a letter, so always be wary of cold calls especially those asking for your private information. And, of course, stay on top of your billing to make sure there is no unauthorized activity.

Nothing against you personally ... but these insurance companies are profit driven ONLY ... they don't give a rats ass about people. It is sad, disgraceful and sickening that the people of this country, who are the bread and butter of this neoliberal economics machine are treated the way they are, and that these entities basically own our legislative branch of gvmnt, too. People shouldn't have to go through these complex gimmicks and scams, and gamble their lives and earnings, just to get medical help!

Thomas Pickering; You nailed it!! The government does not give a rats ass about the people, especially seniors. Medical should be affordable to seniors based on their income, not this forced medical insurance where they deduct $$ from their SSI benefits, and most of the medical treatment isn't covered by the insurance. Seniors are forced to live in poverty in the USA at the behest of these wealthy psychopath globalists who think they own people like cattle.
I remember a few years back a so-call Medicare rep called and gave out his script that sounded legit. Then after the 2 minute rant. He said that my mother owes $300. Then ask if we have money on us now. Because we would need to pay the owed fee that day. over the phone. Then says If we chose to not pay that day. A warrant will be issued and a sheriff will be notify and come and arrest my mother. I started laughing. He said to me. Sir, this is not a laughing matter and that i need to take this seriously. I said if this was a serious matter then where's the proof such as a letter/bill that says she owes money. He said. that the letter has already ben mailed to us. Told him that we never seen any mail regarding this money that supposedly owe. I said. Well, I need you to verify a few things for me first. Then I'll maybe will think about paying it ( 1 ) Read out her Medicare account number ( 2 ) I need you to read out the address that it was mailed to. ( 3 ) Read out the last 4 digits of her SS ( 4 ) Read out her birth date MM/DD/YY. His comeback was. Sir you don't have to be an ass and hung up on me. I like how they're the ones getting mad at you when they couldn't scam you. 🤷😀

A woman with a thick Indian accent just called my mother. The woman asked for my father. Mom said, "He's not here." After a pause, mom said, "I'm not here, either." Then she gave the phone to me. I just listened for a while, thinking it was a robot. But the woman didn't say anything. So I said hello. She asked if this was my father. I said no, and paused. She said she was from "Medicare Recipients". I said, "What is that?" And she hung up. We've gotten a huge number of scam calls over the last year and half claiming everything from Medicare to Amazon to Microsoft. I try to keep them on the phone as long as possible to keep them from scamming someone else.
If someone tells me over the phone that they are licensed, how do I know they are being truthful ?
Good question! You can ask for their license number and look them up.
Common quotes to remember
"Medicare doesn't call you. You call them."
"Medicare contacts you by mail, not by phone."
Right now, my sister and I are being plague by some scammers who claim to represent Medicare or an insurance who seems to represent Medicare.. Often when I have a phone call from someone with an Indian voice, I listen to them to see if they are legit. Than I simply hang up.
Another way to identified a potential scammer is that they don't give your name. For the Medicare scammers whom I am dealing with, they continue to keep on calling on most days. When I check where the phone call originates, there is a different city. When these scammers call, I do listen before I hang up. If someone who ahs an American voice claims to be from Medicare, just hang up. As In the above quotes, Medicare doesn't call you on the phone. They contact you by mail. Even the legitimate companies who offer medicare benefits do use the MAIL.

Great question! You can look them up either by name or license number on your state's department of insurance website.
how about someone calling and they are telling you regarding a new Medicare advantage plan, and then they'll ask if you have medicare or medicaid and if you say yes they'll transfer you to a specialist

I got a call today. They are always calling from different states. I think this one was from new Jersey this time. They called about a mouth swap testing. Unfortunately I thought it was legit and they said that they would offer me some type of arm brace and ankle brace. This scammer told me to lie to the connecting person about my medical condition. I thought I was done with them after they connected me with 3 people.then they called me back requesting more information. After the "4th" person I just hang up.Very odd and fishy. One time they sent me the swab kit but I didn't do it.

Seriously, I’m a caregiver for my 90 yo mom. I field these calls all of the time. Received one today from India re her Medicare card. They wanted me to get her card and I said I couldn’t find it. Then a man got on the phone and was very stern requesting the same thing. Nice try Bill.
Thankfully someone in the comments gave me an idea of what to say.
Have you received the-hi grandma/grandpa calls? The ones where the kid is in trouble via car accident and needs money sent with their “lawyer” standing by to take your card info? No less than ten of those, and I really have a good time pretending I’m a concerned grandma. Until I finally ask them why all of my “grandkids” can’t drive for s__t.

I got 3 calls today. When I ask them where they are located - the ID # has a NYC area code - they hang up.

I've been getting so many of these calls using strange names, on my caller ID it might say a Mary Jones is calling but when I answer it is some guy named John, or it's a county in my state. they do repeat my address back to me. and I'm not prejudiced but it i always been a foreigner. My husband had his identity stolen years ago, he was applying for a job at a large steel mill in our town and many others also had their stolen. I like preaching to these guys and giving them a hard time, some get mad and hang up and a few cuss me out saying some really nasty thing that they would like to stick in my ear. The one I really like getting back at is the scammers who call to tell me I will lose my SSI and there is a warrant out for my arrest

Someone called me and said they provide free braces but they're not from medicare, they asked me for my medicare number but i refused.
Is this a scam or not?
Couldn't say for sure if this is a scam or not, but someone asking for your Medicare number does seem suspicious.

How about working as a qualifying specialist, doing the verification of basic information like, full name, State, zip code, being currently enrolled in Medicare Part A and B and then transferring to a licensed agent that specializes in Medicare Advantage Plans with clear approval of the person I'm speaking with? Is this legit?
We couldn't say with 100% certainty, but there's nothing that raises a red flag. Medicare Advantage is not the same as Original Medicare and agents sometimes do solicit people.

I am home most of the day working on my computer and it is very lonely with no one to talk to,, = I loves to have fun with them when they call ,, but sadly a lot of people fall for it.

Today i just received 20+ calls from Medicare Health Insurance, they was saying your old Medicare card is going to be expire, so that's why we are giving you a new one.
But i never gave them any info & now i do waste their time by saying "Hold on i am finding my card" 😂😂

I received a home warranty letter a few times which looked a little shady. I showed it to a friend and she quickly told me it was a scam

I just received a call from indian guys, trying to send me some genetic test. They asked for my doctors name, my adress etc. I gave them all fake information just to see where it goes.
The genetic testing scam is still floating around.
Hello I'm fairly new in the BPO industry, not even a year. Our campaign is a cardiac genetic testing kit that is covered by their Medicare part B. I'm not sure if it is a scam because we already have their information like their first and last name, Medicare ID, date of birth and address and the information is usually correct. We also don't collect any credit or banking details. Is this legitimate?
Hi Mei. It's impossible to say for certain, but if you're not taking personal information that's a good sign! If you're not passing them along to anyone else who is trying to sell anything, you're probably safe. Again though, it's impossible to say with 100% certainty. Thanks for your comment!

Private companies working on Medicare enrollement plan dont call???
Sorry for the confusion. Original Medicare is not run by private companies. However private companies do offer Medicare Supplement Plans and Medicare Advantage Plans. You may be on a call list for specific carriers and receive phone calls. Always proceed with caution.
Just had 1 today, they said my name I didn't reply I just put phone down. Was switched to another idiot they hung up.however I didn't call anyone for Medicare supplement

Currently I’m working with BPO industry healthcare account and lately I was just wondering if my company is legit. We do not acquire the card number of client rather we just verify if they are enrolled in medicare and medicaid and if theyre suffering from chronic illnesses and offer them benefits they would like to have such as Saving money, help with their copayments etc. CPAP machines so that we can verify if they are eligible in the program, then we transfer them to their liscenced insurance agent in their state. I am hoping that my job is legit and I dont like scamming people. 😪

Original Medicare will not call you (unless they are returning your call). It is possible you are receiving calls from a Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement carrier, but not Original Medicare.

What we learned along with do not call, is that congress is impotent, and there is no guarantee once you are called by anyone.

You actually can change right now! During the MAOEP you can switch from an Advantage plan back to Original Medicare. The MAOEP lasts until March 31.

Medicare ID numbers are private identity numbers and can be used as part of fraud or identity theft if they fall into the wrong hands. This is why your Medicare ID number, social security and other private information should be guarded closely.

Its been a month on this job, now i know that this job is not a scam with 0% doubt. We just ask for Medi claim numbers and after the verification and complete acceptance of patient, we do sent a barces, prickless diabeter meter and a body massager without any charges, its covered by the health insurance of them.

I’m sorry, I just can’t stand elderly people being taken advantage of.
Or better yet, retire outside the US. I have nationally required insurance from the country where I retired and live. Costs me at age 71 €1019 annually ($1022.50 US). And never had, or needed, Medicare.

Someone called me and knew my name. He gave me his, but it didn't match the name attached to the number.
He said he was from [TOWN] but now lives in Washington state.
He said a MediCal scammer called him from my number, and he always calls the person when that happens to let them know their number has been... stolen?
It's very odd and feels like a trap.

@@iHealthBrokers I am from India.I used to work as a lead generator and we used to do same kinds of things we used to say if you want your medicare card give us your ssn or old medicare number but we never asked for the customer for their bank account details we just pitched for a medicare card which they are never going to recieve and then for a generic testing kit then we brief them towards twelve questions and they have to answer according to us if they will not answer question correctly they won't qualify coz the same question will be asked by two verification officers and then finally the doctor. That's what we were told by the company so is it a scam and if how is it conducted can you tell me also i have left the job after training.Coz it sucks with all that noise two or three customers told me on the second day of training that its very noisy where i work and its true nobody would like to hear unpleasant noises in the background during their calls plus people were not ready to lie in their questions other employees used to shout at them call them dumb threatening aggresive tones i just couldn't do that i am not that kind of person. Some people also offered me with jobs at their companies saying that if you would've worked for me i would've taken good care of you and your needs. Also there was a question where they were supposed to state their full name if they agree to bill the insurance and we were supposed to say them that they will just ask you this they are not going to bill you or anything.
These scammers must have no consciences or had poor role models. We will ALL get older and vulnerable one day?

Not scammer they just selling medical equipment on the behalf of other and get selling profits
Unfortunately, many people call claiming to offer "free" medical equipment. If it's actually not "free", it is a scam (and a very common one).

Im working on a call center where we call those people turning 65 in the next 6 months but we are not selling equipment to them we just offering them supplemental plan which is part A and B and many more . thats why I came up here in ur acc if my job is legit cause u know i dunno much about that transactions im just qualifying the people I talk to . so is that a scam or what?
@@kordedlein7810 Medicare Supplement Plans are a secondary form of insurance offered by private carriers. Representatives of the carrier do sometimes call people. However, if you suspect Medicare fraud, you can call 1-800-MEDICARE.
