    "Never use an angle grinder": 2:26. Next minute 11:35 - Just kidding, I get it, time and place for everything. This is actually one of the most informative van window installs i've seen,.

    Helpful video, thanks. I think I've decided that I'm going for the same type of windows instead of bonded glass.

      I definitely can't recommend bonded glass and I've never understood them other than aesthetic. Most don't have fly screens and a lot slide open so can't be used in the rain. None that I know of are double glazed either.

    Brother, lovely video and amazing tips but you missed one important point for beginners like me: how did you make your measurements for the perfect hole ? It’s the scariest part !

      Oh yes!! Good point mate! So I used the rear vertical edge of the door, it's dead straight and square. I marked my rear cut and then went with manufacturer dimensions and used a square for the rest of the marking. But if you use the rear edge as a guide, you'll be spot on

    Hi. Great instructions. Did you form the wooden frame to the van? If not does it make the van panel look deformed and if you did form the frame does the window outer opperate correctly when bent slightly. I'm about to put the same size window in a van and am wondering whether to form the wooden frame or not. Thanks.

      Yes it has a 30mm thick wooden frame on the inside. It has not deformed the panel and the window functions perfectly. The main trick with the wooden frame is make sure you cut the metal panel supports on the door with enough room that the frame sits on the flat panel not the supports.

      Great thanks. Was the wooden frame just straight or did you shape it to the van curvature?

      @@user-ps6ck5dv7g I just made it straight. I believe the size of the window helps, a smaller window or different placement would likely make a difference to the warping

    I’m about to order windows BUT I noticed the instructions say the windows only glue in ☹️ How have your windows held up after 1 year. Are they still snug? Has the sikaflex still holding nice and firm?

    • @WanderingandWilderness
      @WanderingandWilderness  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, most of the windows like mine actually clamp too, they have an internal and external component so not strictly just glued. Mine are all great and still water tight, no sign of that changing anytime soon either.
      Usually only the glass style windows are glue in only, the plastic/acrylic top hinge opening windows that have the built in blind/flyscreen will all be clamped + glue

    New subscriber. Looking forward to more build videos. I am just about to start my second van. My first was a 2008 Renault trafic LWB and the new one is a 2011 Peugeot Boxer L3H2. Not started it yet as I only got it last week.
