But it doesn't mean he is good in every genre, that he sings in. He is God in opera style, and in mixed voice, also in ethnic style. That's pretty much it.

Welcome to the phenomenon that is Dimash! You have come across the best vocalist in the world right now! I really hope you stick with him for a while as you will be amazed with every performance, I promise! He is super trained and can sing a reported 7.2 octaves, sings in 12-14 languages and just about any genre from Opera to pop, rock, folk, classical and he even raps and he does all of this to perfection. The Digital Show was done when he had to cancel his live concerts because of Covid and was all performed live by him for his fans and also he raised a huge amount of money for the Covid fund as well. Thanks for your reaction. Yes Dimash has been “super vocally trained “ since age 5. He takes his training to heart. Dimash was invited at age 22 to compete in a Chinese reality show called The Singer in 2017. It consisted of known Chinese Singers in China. He was the youngest and only non Chinese so he had to go first to start the season. Dimash said during an interview that was the first time he ever performed on “the adult stage”. Each week he had to learn a new song. His biggest concern was his Kazakh accent as he sang in French, Italian, Mandarin, Russian, Kazakh, English and others. I can’t speak for other languages as I am American 🇺🇸 and speak English. In 2017 his English was fair, I saw comments from people from France who criticized his French. So what, at least he tried and succeeded. They were not his native languages. He loves music worldwide and did covers of many great singers. He wrote Unforgettable Day when he was 18 and performs that at all of his many worldwide solo concerts. There is no one like Dimash. He is genuine, surrounds himself around people he knows and loves. He loves his fans who he calls Dears. He is extremely family oriented, takes his job seriously, and is a very sweet, gentle, kind and humble young man. If you really want to see him in high gear performance, check out his concerts. He seldomly sings the same song the same. Dimash know his vocal cord from top to bottom. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And that in all registers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. (d'un Terrien en détresse)" is originally from a French-Canadian musical called 'Starmania' from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform. As you might already know, this performance was from a 90-minute digital show/concert streamed on Jan 31, 2021. According to Dimash’s website, an international team of 140 of the world's top talents in the industry worked on organizing and producing the online concert, integrating modern television and virtual technologies. The result was awe-inspiring. This wasn't a live online concert in the true sense of the word, but rather a sequence of performances with visual effects recorded over the space of a day and night.

Dimash is very trained. He began training classically in his native Kazakhstan when he was five, before also studying contemporary music. He graduated with his Masters in Music a few years back and has only reached age 29 this past May. He sings in a multiple of languages and speaks Kazakh, Russian fluently and is working on his English. You hit the jackpot with Dimash. Yes, he has a voice of an angel. He sings in many genres and many languages including English. Sometimes he does not sing lyrics at all, just uses his voice. He is fluent in his native Kazakh and Russian with English quickly becoming his third. He also plays multiple instruments. He is a very highly trianed artist and he is also a very incredibly humble and respectful person. Please do his Spanish song, El Amor En Ti. You will get to see some of his opera, his baritone, his tenor, his soprano and then pop, all in one song.

His French is much better now and his interpretation has changed but my first introduction to him was hearing SOS on the Chinese singeing compittion that singer a few years ago and I like that one as it was before and audience without all the effects. This was great too but I guess I just like that performance better. He is just fun to watch when he is before an audiance. Dimash has more range AND tonal textures than ANYONE. Also...and this is just my opinion... NOBODY connects emotionally to the song more than Dimash. It's almost as uf he doesn't simply perform the song...he BECOMES it.

I heard the American version is very different from the original French version, where his girlfriend dies in his arms after being fatally injured, thus he is on his knees and sings, Sleep child sleep at the end, releasing her in peace... maybe the world IS better on the other side, seen from above (in spirit, as a bird would see it.) I will research it again. I had watched the only French version I could find. I couldn't stand the American one (I am from USA). The lyrics were awful. Deep meaning is still there... For more of Dimash's (underrated) lower register, you have to watch Sinful Passion, where he sings for an extended time down there at the beginning of the song before setting off more vocal fireworks.

Dimash is Kazakh, 29, and been trained since age 5. He sings every genre and in over a dozen languages. He is probably the best singer in the world, I've not heard better. If you ever get the chance to hear him live then go!

Me lleva a pensar en la voz de Dimash y el elemento terapéutico que supuestamente tiene en muchas personas. A menudo he comentado sobre la capacidad de Dimash para transmitir emociones profundas a través de su voz (incluso cuando existen barreras del idioma, Dimash parece capaz de transmitir el sentimiento vocalmente). Por los videos que he visto y los artículos que he leído, Dimash es un ser humano muy enfocado (¡obviamente talentoso!), que tiene un profundo sentido de conexión con las cosas simples de la vida: familia, fe, belleza, niños, amistades y respeto. Welcome to the phenomenon that is Dimash! You have come across the best vocalist in the world right now! I really hope you stick with him for a while as you will be amazed with every performance, I promise! He is super trained and can sing a reported 7.2 octaves, sings in 12-14 languages and just about any genre from Opera to pop, rock, folk, classical and he even raps and he does all of this to perfection.
The Digital Show was done when he had to cancel his live concerts because of Covid and was all performed live by him for his fans and also he raised a huge amount of money for the Covid fund as well.
You could carry on with his Digital Show or you can look for other performances such as Stranger, Olimpico, Sinful Passion or The Love of Tired Swans. There are so many more to chose from too.

Thanks for your reaction. Yes Dimash has been “super vocally trained “ since age 5. He takes his training to heart. Dimash was invited at age 22 to compete in a Chinese reality show called The Singer in 2017. It consisted of known Chinese Singers in China. He was the youngest and only non Chinese so he had to go first to start the season. Dimash said during an interview that was the first time he ever performed on “the adult stage”. Each week he had to learn a new song. His biggest concern was his Kazakh accent as he sang in French, Italian, Mandarin, Russian, Kazakh, English and others. I can’t speak for other languages as I am American 🇺🇸 and speak English. In 2017 his English was fair, I saw comments from people from France who criticized his French. So what, at least he tried and succeeded. They were not his native languages. He loves music worldwide and did covers of many great singers. He wrote Unforgettable Day when he was 18 and performs that at all of his many worldwide solo concerts. There is no one like Dimash. He is genuine, surrounds himself around people he knows and loves. He loves his fans who he calls Dears. He is extremely family oriented, takes his job seriously, and is a very sweet, gentle, kind and humble young man.
If you really want to see him in high gear performance, check out his concerts. He seldomly sings the same song the same. Dimash know his vocal cord from top to bottom. I’m almost 66 and have been following him since 2017. It only gets better. This performance of SOS was during Covid. The first song he sang in 2017 was SOS. Lara Fabian is one of his idols. She appreciates him. They’ve sung together. By the way he turned 29 in May 2023.

Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And that in all registers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. Sometimes he also can be a little bit goofy, and I love it❤️. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audiende to be seen or heard.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. The man who often plays the kobys in Dimash’s performances is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. STORY: This song (SOS Terrien en distress) is part of Starmania, it's a rock opera, music by Michel Berger (France), lyrics by Luc Plamondon (Quebec, Canada).......two of the best.. ..The show was presented for the first time on April 10, 1979 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris.
Michel composed especially for the first performer Daniel Balavoine for his special range. Sadly, Daniel died at the age of 33 in 1986 in a helicopter accident during a humanitarian mission in Mali.
The second, magnificently interpreted by Grégory Lemarchal, in 2004, he became known to the general public by winning the fourth season of the show Star Academy. Sadly, he died of cystic fibrosis at the age of 23 in 2007.

You hit the jackpot with Dimash. Yes, he has a voice of an angel. He sings in many genres and many languages including English. Sometimes he does not sing lyrics at all, just uses his voice. He is fluent in his native Kazakh and Russian with English quickly becoming his third. He also plays multiple instruments. He is a very highly trianed artist and he is also a very incredibly humble and respectful person. Please do his Spanish song, El Amor En Ti. You will get to see some of his opera, his baritone, his tenor, his soprano and then pop, all in one song.

His French is much better now and his interpretation has changed but my first introduction to him was hearing SOS on the Chinese singeing compittion that singer a few years ago and I like that one as it was before and audience without all the effects. This was great too but I guess I just like that performance better. He is just fun to watch when he is before an audiance. The song takes place at the final scene of the Rock Opera "Starmania", written in 1978 by Michel Berger (music) and Luc Plamondon (from Québec, lyrics). The show was a huge success and many songs are now considered as absolute classics of French music that everybody knows.
An English version called "Tycoon", lyrics adapted by Tim Rice was recorded in 1992, with Kim Carnes, Willy DeVille, Céline Dion, Nina Hagen, Tom Jones, Peter Kingsbery, Cyndi Lauper.

In the near future, the West is unified into a single state. Many people dream, in one way or another, of "becoming a star".
As the presidential election approaches, Monopolis, the capital of the West, is terrorized by the Black Stars gang. The gang's leader, Johnny Rockfort, is under the thrall of Sadia, a student agitator from high society who is, in fact, a man in drag. In the Monopolis underground, Marie-Jeanne, a waitress at the Underground Café, listens to televangelist Roger Roger's non-stop news bulletins on the Télé-Capitale channel. She also watches Sadia and Johnny's preparations for the attacks.
Above this underground café rises the golden tower of billionaire and former soldier Zéro Janvier. He announces his candidacy for the presidential election and defends a model of society that is security-conscious, racist, economically liberal and resolutely far removed from any conception of ecology: the "new atomic world". His main opponent, Guru Marabout, advocates a return to nature and greater freedom of morals.
On Télé-Capitale, star host Cristal presents Starmania, promising candidates to become "the star for a night". Ziggy, a young gay record dealer with whom Marie-Jeanne is in love, dreams of appearing on Starmania and achieving fame as the world's first rock dancer. Hearing him talk about his plans, Sadia decides to steal the show and calls Cristal to propose an exclusive, clandestine interview with Johnny. Cristal and Johnny immediately fall in love at first sight: she runs off with him, while the press believes she's been kidnapped. A disagreement erupts with Sadia when she decides to pirate the Télé-Capitale frequency during a debate between Zéro Janvier and Guru Marabout to claim to the world that she is with Johnny Rockfort: he takes Cristal's side, and Sadia lets her jealousy show.
Meanwhile, hypersexualized and depressed film actress Stella Spotlight announces the end of her career. Zéro Janvier sees her as a communications asset, and offers her the chance to become his political muse. She appeared publicly with the billionaire, then campaigned actively on his behalf. But Stella, psychologically destroyed, takes part in orgy-like group therapy sessions organized by Guru Marabout. Zéro asks her to marry him. The nuptials are celebrated in the discotheque at the top of the golden tower, Naziland.
Cristal has become a popular heroine. She and Johnny, now separated from Sadia, decide to blow up the tower that night. Ziggy, who has disappeared without giving Marie-Jeanne any further news, has become Naziland's disc jockey. Sadia learns of the Black Stars' planned attack and, furious with jealousy, denounces Johnny and Cristal to Zéro Janvier. Zéro Janvier's armed men set off in pursuit of the Black Stars. Cristal loses her life during the chase, thrown from the top of the building. While her body is carried in procession, Marie-Jeanne leaves the underground world and the alienation of her work.
Shortly after these events, Zéro Janvier is elected President of the West. Johnny attempts to assassinate him, but is shot dead by his henchmen. The final scene sees Johnny's spirit rise to other skies, while the Earthlings sing to the universe of their despair at their condition.
This song is Johnny, at this moment, wondering: "Why do I live, why do I die? Why do I laugh, why do I cry?"
I heard the American version is very different from the original French version, where his girlfriend dies in his arms after being fatally injured, thus he is on his knees and sings, Sleep child sleep at the end, releasing her in peace... maybe the world IS better on the other side, seen from above (in spirit, as a bird would see it.)
I will research it again.
I had watched the only French version I could find. I couldn't stand the American one (I am from USA). The lyrics were awful. I don't think it comprehended the beauty or meaning of the French lyrics.

@@DQ_Mine French version actually changed a lot year after year. Guru Marabout disappeared already in 1988 version. But the songs are staying. Characters are still strong. Deep meaning is still there... Monopolis, Le Blues du Businessman, La Complainte de la Serveuse Automate, Travestis, Le Rêve de Stella Spotlight, Les Uns Contre Les Autres, and on top of it, Le Monde est Stone. Try them all, Goosebumpsland.

Another great singer is Sohyang, some have called her a female Dimash. "Arirang alone" is one of my favourites.
For more of Dimash's (underrated) lower register, you have to watch Sinful Passion, where he sings for an extended time down there at the beginning of the song before setting off more vocal fireworks.
