    Finally, someone made a video about these. I just refused to make a blind buy. Nice to see how this compares to OnAir Company AI pilot features. A one-time fee sounds more attractive than a subscription service.

    • @kurtvwSims
      @kurtvwSims  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for the comment.
      I played OnAir for about a year, and found it a little too grindy, and yes, the subscription is no fun. However considering that they maintain the online components of it, I can understand why they do it that way.
      One approach to think about with NF is to just get pilots first. Mess with that for a while and then get company later. Company makes Pilots really profitable so its a nice perk to add to the pilots concept.
      Hopefully someday in the future NeoFly will have an online economy like OnAir, I think that would make it perfect.

    Thank you for this video. I added Airlines less than a week ago, after several of months grinding by sending two pilots around in C172s and earning $20-30K a night. I now have one hub at a municipal airport; two rented Caravans, a rented Piper Arrow, and an 'owned' C172; and five pilots (two of whom I use as co-pilots). My staff fees are about $5000 a day, and my hub fees are approximately another $5000 per day. The crazy thing is, I'm bringing in around $200,000 each evening by sending my three AI planes out 3-4 times each on short routes. My Airline Manager cuts fuel and maintenance costs in half while adding significant bonuses to AI jobs. And my airline just achieved 100% customer satisfaction tonight.

    I’m a NF addict and do almost all my flying in that realm but never quite ‘got’ how to use the airline and hub options. Thanks for a great introduction to this very well structured part of NF. Once you get used to hubs and hub lines you can setup very productive flights making the money you need to get more advanced aircraft. I’ve been trying to get enough to move into my 146 aircraft then with more money the 737 and 320. Then… the sky’s the limit!

    Thank you so much for this tutorial, Kurt! It helped me big time! I use NF to cruise around the world with my little C152, but I wanted to get a bigger plane and these short missions with the Cessna don't give me that much money, so I'm deffinetly trying this Airline section and let the AI pilots earn money for my whims :D

      @@kurtvwSims I did start my airline and already hired 2 pilots thanks to this tutorial :D It really helps you to get tons of money when you're not playing, so now the only thing I miss from NF (but I know it could be quite hard to implement) it's an online version (I really don't know how to call it), so I could check my AI pilots status and keep sending them to new missions while I'm at the office, for example :D :D

      @@Pusman Oh, bummer...I was hoping I could do just that: check on / assign new flights to AI pilots while away from my flight sim computer. So, we can't do this for sure? Even if I have NF on my laptop and have internet connection wherever I happen to be?

    Great vid, thx. One thing - what does having a manager at a hub actually achieve? If you can set up 2 FBOs, and fly and AI pilot to and from them on missions, why does having manager help?

    • @kurtvwSims
      @kurtvwSims  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Managers just bring bonuses. Such as reduced fuel cost, or increased mission pay, reduced maintence cost, etc. By stocking the hub with some market items it also allows them to create 'deluxe' missions that pay even more.
      So really they are just ways of creating bonus multipliers. They aren't necessary. They they do help.

    • @kurtvwSims

      Not that I know of, but it would be an interesting suggestion. I think the only automations you can do are out and back between two locations.

    We need a smartphone app for managing the pilots and the company 😀

    • @kurtvwSims
      @kurtvwSims  ปีที่แล้ว

      You should suggest that on the Neofly discord.
      You kind of can do that using Sky4Sim addon, but thats on a virtual tablet in the sim, and not on your actual smartphone... So I dunno, maybe a good suggestion for the Sky4Sim dev to do a smartphone app?

    Thanks for this, Kurt! Just getting started with NF4 and this was just the intro I needed on how airlines work.
    Any advantage to picking bigger aiports, if you're not using 737s in your airline? :)

    • @kurtvwSims
      @kurtvwSims  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all, The bigger the airport the bigger the cost. If you're not flying airplanes that need the large facility, then you're wasting money.

    Do u know how to set the weight for the A320 fbw....i gave up on this

    • @kurtvwSims
      @kurtvwSims  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't fly jets much, so I'm not 100% sure... I do know that the fuel sync in NF doesn't work with several of the more complex jets.
      My memory is that you have to do it manually (payload or fuel), so if that is via the MSFS weight and balance page, or if you have to use the FBW's FMC, I'm not sure.
      Its probably a question best asked on the Neofly discord channel, I'm sure others are using that plane and could help you.

    What's the difference between passenger jobs/hub lines and airliner jobs/hub lines?

    • @kurtvwSims
      @kurtvwSims  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "Airline" jobs require a higher level pilot. "Passenger" jobs can be thought of more like maybe a passenger charter type of thing.
      To be honest I'm not sure why Neo decided to do it that way and I agree it is a little confusing. Ultimately the job is similar.

  • @ummagowa
    @ummagowa ปีที่แล้ว

    I didn't get how you get the airline logo to appear on a jobs list? Do you have to send the pilot(s) to the hub?

    • @kurtvwSims
      @kurtvwSims  ปีที่แล้ว

      After you have the jobs set up, it can take a few minutes for it to populate them in the list.
      Also be sure that the planes your AI are using are valid for the mission types you created.
      If you still don't see them, probably best to raise the issue on the NF discord so they can look into it.

    Ok now I have a question and I will go a bit further, suppose I have set up an airliner, or for example a cargo flying company. is it possible that a friend who also has everything for my company can fly.

    • @kurtvwSims
      @kurtvwSims  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It doesn't have any multiplayer kind of capability.
      However I'm reasonably certain if you did a backup of your progress (from the setup page) you could send that file to the friend and he could restore from it (also in the setup page). And would have a copy of your company. But they would never be syncronized or anything, it would just be his copy. Might save him having to start from scratch, if that is your intent.
      Might be a question better asked on the NF discord if you need a 100% solid answer.

    • @kurtvwSims
      @kurtvwSims  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Neofly (and everything you buy for it) as I recall is connected to whatever email address you used to pay for it.
      So, if you mean as you start up new careers and so on, yes it will be for all of those.
      But for exact details about how NF's pricing works, you should ask on their Discord channel. I don't work for them and I can't make promises about how they do it.
      Thanks for watching.

    If you let your pilots sell the market goods for you they take a hefty 30% fee from your profit.

    • @kurtvwSims
      @kurtvwSims  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thats true, you can look at it that way, but if they are running flights while you're at work, or sleeping, or grabbing a sandwich, you could look at it as you're earning 70% instead of the 0% you would be getting if nobody was doing it....

    • @renatopiereck8549
      @renatopiereck8549 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @kurtvwSims I'm only running the Pilots perk now, no Airline, so I'm still very hands on and my profits are low. 30% is a big chunk for me. Once on Airline mode later I'll benefit more from the automated selling. Depends on what your focus is.

    • @kurtvwSims
      @kurtvwSims  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@renatopiereck8549 I don't normally have them fly market goods. Usually the only time I do that is if there is no other good job for them, or if I am repositioning them.
      If there are no good jobs, market goods are usually more than enough to pay for the fuel and rental time of getting them to another airport.
