I've watched people in Vietnam make baskets from bamboo. It seems to be a really flexible material! I am definitely planning to try it when I get some bamboo from the woods nearby.
I hope he is not the last one. To any indigenous people who want to learn your tribe's art.....if you feel in your heart that you want to learn, just try it and then keep trying. You will learn with persistence. Seek out your elders and those who know the craft, ask them questions. They want the younger generations to carry on these beautiful & ancient arts. You can do it! :)
