It’s sazon it’s a Hispanic seasoning I use it for almost everything now thank you for this recipe I love cassava leave thanks to my Liberian friends here in Ohio I’m cooking it now hopefully it comes out good
My mom makes the best cassava leave..wish I had learned it and not just enjoy it all the time without learning 😂😂😂😅. My potato greens is on point though 😂
@Allhands-on Charlotte No problem. I'll try kidney beans, too. I'm sure it'll be great. I actually meant to say butter beans instead of lima beans. I love the texture and how it holds the flavor of the soup. One last question. Have you ever tried it with fufu? Your soup has the perfect consistency for it, too. Although most Liberians think it's crazy, I never understood how we eat Bitterleaf with fufu, but not Cassava leaf. For the most part, the soup is prepared the same way. it's just a different leaf.
@David Colden yea I remember the butter beans but my grandma used to put it in potato greens instead...it was thee best...n she used to mix cassava Leaf and palm butter
@Allhands-on Charlotte wow..never heard of Butter beans in potatoe greens. Gotta try that. And I have had Cassava leaf and palm butter! Thought my fam was the only one. I also had palm butter w/ Okra Sauce lol Great!
In the blender is the cassava Leaves and another leaf we called fever leaf (Liberian) to enhance the flavor. I used one bag which I think is a lb. I hope I answered your question 🙏
Do I need to do anything special to prepare the fresh leaves for cooking beside washing and cutting, also is there a certain way you wash the fresh leaves?
@@allhands-oncharlotte6417 thank you I'm trying it now! So far it smells and tastes delicious. How do I know when the water is boiled off completely ? Btw it's amazing how quickly you responded ❤️

What is fever leaf? Is there another name you know for it. I want to see if Jamaica has it. It's not lemon grass is it, that's what I think they call fever leaf or fever grass.
Another name for fever leaf that I found is scent leaf. It has a strong spicy smell n its spicy as well. It's also used to treat fever n cold. Unfortunately, I don't have an option to insert a pic in comment
Yea I'm not sure if I mentioned in this video, but personally, I prefer peanut butter when I'm making fried cassava Leaves and that's when I'm using vegetable oil. I don't feel comfortable mixing red oil and peanut butter n also, sometimes I like to turn my cassava Leaves soup into torbogee

I haven't had it with the lima beans but my grandma used to make it with the big red kidney beans and I had always loved it that way.
