Can we just take a minute to appreciate the fact that this band has been able to not only remain relevant for nearly 40 years but also managed to genuinely connect with every new generation that's come since they first formed back in '84 and continues to make genuine good quality music that fits into the world as it evolves around them without becoming repetitive or selling out. I honestly cannot think of a single other example of a band doing that except potentially the Beatles but even then they still don't quite match the feat RHCP has pulled off by still being important in todays environment. It's honestly incredible.

My kid was about seven years old when we lived on the Venice boardwalk and my neighbor told me that The Peppers would be performing on their roof that afternoon. I was so excited because I had seen them play live on the Arsenio Hall show before anyone knew who they were. So, to find out that they were gonna be playing on my neighbor's roof, my hubby and our kid and I headed over to the basketball court and watched them film this song until sunset. It was a magical day and my kid's first live rock show. Good times.
People need to realize that YES they have changed their style but yet it's still the same RHCP since the beginning. I think this and "I'm With You" is fantastic. Josh Klinghoffer is an amazing guitarist without a doubt. Chad and Flea still are just as amazing as they were during Mothers Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik if not better. And Anthony, well Anthony is a 52 year old man who still looks 40 doesn't seem to age, is a fucking rocker on stage and is singing his heart out in these songs. RHCP over 30 years! Keep rocking

When Anthony went into a drug rehab, he met this girl named Gloria who helped him get over his heroin addiction, he fell in love with her and bought her a beach house on Venice Beach (where this video takes place) she sadly passed away and they made a song about her called Venice queen on their by the way album

I went to the beach with my brother that day and I remember a band playing and I was confused because they were on top of the roof, when I found out it was the Red Hot Chili Peppers I wanted to get closer but it was packed so we stood by the basket ball courts. I’ll never ever forget that amazing day, one of my absolute favorite memories and my favorite band
These guys are so genuine & cool. I will never forget 30 years ago, prior to the show at Northern Illinois University, they took time out of their day/sound check to play basketball with students at the rec center. I was fortunate enough to get a chance to run up & down the court a few times with these guys! Flea was a riot of course & I got to rap with Chad too, briefly. Love RHCP!
By the time Frusciante decided to leave the band, Josh was the best choice. I will explain why. Josh was the second guitarist through the stadium arcadium tour so he was a familiar face and a proved guitarist to chili peppers. Also he has coorporated with Frusciante at some of John's solo works. And last but least, he brought a new kind of sound to chili peppers. The "I'm with you" is a great album which proved the band's versatility and ability to adapt new styles. And personally I really liked this one...

RHCP performed the song at the event and I remember rushing straight to Kboing, which was a very popular music site among brazilian internet users at the time. Since that day, to be honest, I can't recall if I've ever gone a day without listening to it. Whether the actual song, piano or guitar instrumentals, or live show recordings. Kicking Josh out the way they did wasn’t right the way they did it. Especially since they not only went behind his back to do it, but they’re deleting all of the hard work he already did for their next album. I hope they at least financially compensate Josh for his time, and hard work, even though they’re deleting everything he’s already done for their next album.

Josh Klinghoffer is an amazing guitarist without a doubt. Chad and Flea still are just as amazing as they were during Mothers Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik if not better. And Anthony, well Anthony is a 52 year old man who still looks 40 doesn't seem to age, is a fucking rocker on stage and is singing his heart out in these songs. RHCP over 30 years! Keep rocking

I went to the beach with my brother that day and I remember a band playing and I was confused because they were on top of the roof, when I found out it was the Red Hot Chili Peppers I wanted to get closer but it was packed so we stood by the basket ball courts. I’ll never ever forget that amazing day, one of my absolute favorite memories and my favorite band
These guys are so genuine & cool. I will never forget 30 years ago, prior to the show at Northern Illinois University, they took time out of their day/sound check to play basketball with students at the rec center. I was fortunate enough to get a chance to run up & down the court a few times with these guys! Flea was a riot of course & I got to rap with Chad too, briefly. Love RHCP!

By the time Frusciante decided to leave the band, Josh was the best choice. I will explain why. Josh was the second guitarist through the stadium arcadium tour so he was a familiar face and a proved guitarist to chili peppers. Also he has coorporated with Frusciante at some of John's solo works. And last but least, he brought a new kind of sound to chili peppers. The "I'm with you" is a great album which proved the band's versatility and ability to adapt new styles. And personally I really liked this one...

Either way, what they did wasn’t cool. If Josh didn’t step in when he did, the Red Hot Chili Peppers probably would have discontinued playing. Kicking Josh out the way they did wasn’t right the way they did it. Especially since they not only went behind his back to do it, but they’re deleting all of the hard work he already did for their next album. I hope they at least financially compensate Josh for his time, and hard work, even though they’re deleting everything he’s already done for their next album.

Even if he made 10 million dollars while with the RHCP, it doesn’t mean that he should have to work for free, he’s worth more than that. Working for free is essentially slave labor, 10 million dollars or not, I personally don’t support slave labor. It’s not just about the money, but the way they handled it, and went behind Josh’s back, in getting John back, that wasn’t cool
