Thanks! really enjoyed your video. I have a complete Model B and one that needs a gallery inner tube and flame spreader and am looking forward to learning more about these as well as collecting them
You can char & clean that wick as much as you like. That will not stop it burning on one side. That's an Air leak. Also charring should be done with the flame spreader installed. Cheers
@@quickcalsgarage4782 Take the burner apart. remove the wick. Check the clearance between the outer wick tube and the inner. Must be even. If old wick, replace. Get the lamp running. If it still air leaking, replace the outer wick tube. If still leaking then the gallery should be changed. You really need spare parts to intechange.
I have an Aladdin lamp that’s never been used and wonder how the mantle should be lit the first time to eliminate the blue coating. Is it like the old Coleman mantles where you light them once to “season” the mantle prior to using it the first time? Or do just let the wick burn off the blue coating when you light the wick?
When you slowly raise the wick after lighting, should the entire flame turn blue at the same exact time? What I'm seeing is, the flame starts out all yellow, but when I start to raise the wick, the blue flame spreads around the wick and the yellow section (near the raiser knob) gets smaller, before it all turns blue . Is this normal or does it mean the wick is uneven or an air leak? Thanks.
Great video
Beautiful lamp

Really enjoy the info. Would love to see more tips on Aladdin's if you had them.

How do you find and deal with an air leak?

I love your collection btw.
At 2:21 you said to use the "blade" to clean the mantle/wick. Where do I buy that wick cleaner/razor
Wish you’d show replacement of a model b wick
He's too busy talking to himself to bother with real info.

I’m having that happen too.
@@melindaunknown6411 Thanks for letting me know! Maybe it's almost considered normal. My other Aladdin does this as well..
