Firefly. I played your game stronghold 2 sense I was 4 years old. I still remember replaying for first time. When I saw it was coming out on steam, I bought it the release date
The best strat is to spamm 50+ woodcutters cut all the wood and sell the wood for gold (you wil be suprised how much gold you get its dumb). Go cheese/apple/hunters while doing this. Build a wal around your land. Build 200 archers asap really easy to do with the woodgold. Get all the honor building and chruch build a wall around them. Also buy the food for the kitchen do not build pigfarm etc. While you are at it build a wall of square towers you wil be able to repair them while enemy is near. Once you unlock honor statue build 50 of them + demolish apple/cheese/hunters for bread makers etc. Sell all the bread until you have 100 left. Keep doing this. Once duke place balistas on your 40+ towers with 200+ archers. Spamm catapults+horse archers+knights+wooden roof things. And you won the game. Am i missing something? + get most of this done before peace time (pt).
i dont connect towers to the wall, so that when under siege they have to go down to the wall and enter the towers, makes it more of a long journey for enemies to destroy my defenses, also , after i have put troops on the gates, i connect the walls on the part of the gates where troops cannot access it, therefore then cant take the gate, I dont put barracks on the wall so they cant go down, siege troops cant go down easily, but there is this trick that i do, i always put a way down, on the most longest journey on the wall and the most defensive convient on the side of the wall where i can easily destroy siege troops , because if you put a way down, ladders dont need to be deployed down, siege troops will just go down on that way down
also, if you put thief near the estate flag, it will be yours forever since no one can attack thief and , no one can get the estate if you have troops near the flag
I loved this game, but it was deeply flawed in many ways and I recently bought it on steam only to find that it had actually got worse. I was able to build siege camps anywhere, including in the middle of my enemies stronghold. I hope one day they remake it and put a little more effort into things like balancing and unit collission. This game could have some really epic battles if all the units didn't hide inside each other.

It was kingmaker, though I remember multiplayer had many issues with balance and gameplay in general that just lead to it being a memefest of stupidity and copied tactics. For all the simulation, it's a very shallow game. I only played for the occasions where I'd meet a roleplayer and we'd just role play, for which the game was amazingly good. Until you get to battle and then it's back to multitudes of weirdness.
nice played,, you should try next time to build and enclose,, the jousting,traveling, fair and the church (let the priest in first) set church to max,and make plenty of candles,, this way you can turn of food,and sell all food for easy money, thats why bread setup is great for it :)) just a idea, and it do's work fine
How did you get to have a flag color other than red? It always bugged me you couldn't change that. In fact, I re-installed it this weekend, saw that the red-only color thing had not been changed, then uninstalled it.
That only works in multiplayer, and colors depend on the player's number. Player 1 is always bright red, player 2 is always orange, player 3 is always green, etc.

I'm pretty sure you were supposed to have 14 years of truce before attacking each other, according to the chat at the beginning of the game, yet you attack Orange before the truce was up. Not cool

I hate the spam of buildings, the spam of trebuchets, the jousting hack (wall) this is a medieval sim builder with rts, hahaha , If I was a developer of stronghold series, I will limited the economics buildings you can place of the same type , to force build all the buildings and not win because only make money selling everything. Also only can build 5 trebuchets, 5 catapults, 5 towers at the same time. Stronghold 2 is the most realistic game, but I think need this to add, well like an option “realistic “ to the players that what to win because the strategy fact and no the economy/honor spam . The other players can still play like always spamming things hahaha everyone can be choose the way of fun.
in single player you can do that. When you're playing it competitively to win, you want to min/max everything. He didn't even spam all that much, he could have done things much more efficiently if he wanted/knew how

Honestly I'm cringing the whole time watching this game. I've played this game as a child, teenager, and now an adult. I have the original game downloaded onto my PC the one that had Gamespy as the online servers. They took them down years ago and I still play the game against the AI this is my ATF game. I'm literally stuck at work for another half hour and I'm going straight home to buy this game and play multiplayer.

There might be something in the options menu, just like in stronghold legends.
I simply set it to a lower resolution.

I loved this game, but it was deeply flawed in many ways and I recently bought it on steam only to find that it had actually got worse. I was able to build siege camps anywhere, including in the middle of my enemies stronghold. I hope one day they remake it and put a little more effort into things like balancing and unit collission. This game could have some really epic battles if all the units didn't hide inside each other.
That's weird, was this on multiplayer or kingmaker vs the ai? Also at least you weren't around when the ballista auto fired haha!

With all that food production, why not go double rations and high taxes right off the hop? Faster honor, etc.

actually he moves his troops up but doesnt attack, orange actually sends his army to attack before the truce is up

You make the game unfun. Spamming one type of building is how you play these games. Btw serg barly spammed. I would have had 60 wood cutters in 3mins
