I always knew he would go far from Star Search to American Idol to the World stage. He is such a fantastic guy and a wonderful human being. Art Garfunkel could never perform it live as well as it sounded on the recording but David nails it, and without going into falsetto. What an amazing voice and an amazing young man.
I accept your opinion, but I disagree. I don't feel Archuleta's passion. It's like he's at a karaoke bar and reading the words off a prompter. Most of the time the expression on his face is that of detachment. Nothing could top the original. Archuleta is a very good singer but he is no Art Garfunkel and his version is but a shadow of Art's. Listen to the harmonies of the original when S & G sing the bridge, "Sail on silver girl, sail on by, your time has come to shine, all your dreams are on their way..." If that doesn't give you goosebumps then you have no soul....!
