I was so excited when I first heard the news that South Carolina hired Dawn Staley to lead the Gamecock women's BB program. She is driven and has proven to be a winner in EVERY stage of her career - as a college player, Olympian, WNBA player. and coach. She demands perfection from everyone around her because she embraces perfection in herself. I absolutely LOVE Dawn Staley! Thank you for posting this to preserve the history of the 2020 season of "what-if".
I 2nd that. 2020 was such a special season until it wasn’t, but the team in Garnet & Black will always be special.
Thanks for posting it mean a lot to view this program set the standards higher than expected. That's is Dawn Staley looking forward to be amazing basketball players and games and the Final 4 can't wait for March Madness here in Greensboro NC. I'm already make arrangements to attend the whole week,this be a very special week l'm a grandma know to be able to tell her some amazing basketball stories. Hopefully she will see them play maybe meet the players of Dawn Staley team. If not I want be disappointed because I just appreciate the game for a long time now.

I’m from Austin, TX, excited for our new hire at Texas with Vic Schaefer. I root for USC against anyone accept Texas but even then I’m torn. Hope Dawn wins many more. You guys are lucky to have her. We are lucky to have Schaefer too.

Pretty awesome video. I was super excited and happy for Coach Dawn Staley after leading the Lady Gamecocks to the National Championship title. Always a fan of Coach Dawn from her days playing at the University of Virginia & coaching at Temple. A great coach and winning that title just gives her career so much more weight and validation.
This year, the women's game was wide open. The Lady Bears, defending champs, lost. The Lady Ducks stumbled against Louisville, who also stumbled to Ohio State, Syracuse, Florida State, and those teams stumbled. The Lady Gamecocks lost to an Indiana team that was rising in the ranks and playing some really good basketball. One of those teams that you would hate to face in the tournament because they could get you good.
Bottom Line, this season would have been one for the ages. Great video. I hope that we have a basketball season this year. So many teams are getting some top notch talent. Be safe and stay healthy.

Hypocrite, amazing that when her fans are reported using the N word, it's OK with her: On Tuesday, Missouri athletic director Jim Sterk alleged that fans of South Carolina womens basketball showered Missouri players with spit and racial epithets following their 64-54 Sunday loss to the Gamecocks. The game was hotly contested, so much so that two players were ejected following a bench-clearing fracas. South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn called the allegations “serious and false” at a news conference Wednesday. Dawn Staley Addresses Missouri AD Jim Sterk’s Comments - 1/31/18 UPLOADED BY SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS ON 2018-01-31. “Did I lose a little sleep last night? Yes, obviously,” Staley told reporters. “(The allegations are) going to be handled, but not right here, and not in the manner in which they were dealt. That’s all I’m going to say about that.” Sterk also described the atmosphere as unhealthy. “I mean, it was not a good environment and unfortunately I think Coach Staley promoted that kind of atmosphere,” Sterk said in the interview. “It’s unfortunate that she felt she had to do that.” In a more direct response to Sterk’s comments, Staley vehemently stood behind the Gamecocks’ fanbase. If I could uproot my fans and place them in any other arena, that coach would be tremendously proud, Staley said. I stand by our fans, by the way they cheer, by every single thing they bring to the arena.
What is the culture though? Like really. How it is down there?
South Carolina is a poor, agricultural state that still has not moved on from its colonial past. Their economy is still dependent upon agriculture, the crops being tobacco and cotton.
