    The more I go over it, the more I trust that draft and the less I trust the Raiders to overcome their massive hole at O-line (and the defense was a long way from average, too). I can't figure out if the Broncos will have Brady-level growing pains or if a slow start from Russ would still be equal to what they had, and as a traumatized LaDainian Tomlinson fan, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop on the Chargers.
    Tentatively, I have Chargers at 12-5, Broncos at 11-6, Chiefs at 10-7, and Raiders at 8-9, but I'm working on a weighted, "percent of win" projection that'll probably be more accurate as a whole.

    • @zackhurwitz9441
      @zackhurwitz9441 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't see any way any of the teams don't get to double digit wins. It'll probably stop any one of the 4 from being the 1 seed. I think 2-3 are going to the playoffs.

    • @thatonewriter8043
      @thatonewriter8043 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zackhurwitz9441 Simple. Raiders are an up-and-down team. Chiefs have gotten younger and less experienced. Chargers are the Chargers. Broncos are adjusting to a new QB and maybe facing an offensive scheme struggle (look up Russell Wilson offense; it's a big talking point for NFL film channels this summer). Absolutely all of them are vulnerable to QB injury. At least one is probably going to be single-digits, though I think they end up with win totals somewhere around 12/13, 11/12, 10, and 8/9. Your guess is as good as mine as far as who ends up with what win total, but I think the volatile Raiders are the most likely to be fourth, while the veteran leadership of the Chiefs gives them a real shot at maximizing the talent available.
      Between on-paper talent, organizational track records, roster experience, stability, and everything else, it's a mess trying to project this division. Chargers are most talented, Broncos could reach the moon with an actual QB, Raiders have reunited the electric Carr-Adams connection, and the Chiefs lost Tyreek and Tyrann, but remain an incredibly stable staff and organization.

The Pats later traded pick 94 to Carolina, who took Matt Corral. (Incidentally, New England also used the 4th they received on a QB, but Bailey Zappe will be lucky to be more than a backup. I don't mean to be rude but Mahomes is a long way from ever being Brady and I think that Tyreek was way more valuable for them than u think. The whole "run 2 high to stop KC" defense was built to negate Tyreek somewhat, not Mahomes. I like a lot of the wr's that KC brought in but none of them can replace Tyreek. MVS has strait line speed and Sky Moore has quicks but each of the KC receivers can be matched up by a lot of teams. A lot more teams have a fast corner that can cover MVS becasue he isnt as quick as Tyreek and others have quick corners that can cover Sky Moore since he isnt as fast. I really like MVS but there are a lot more teams that have a corner that can cover MVS than have one that can cover Tyreek. Tyreek made it a lot harder to spy Mahomes in any man coverage because double covering Tyreek and Kelce while spying the qb is impossible. I really do like Mahomes as a player and as a person so far as I know him he seems pretty cool, but I have always believed there were certain players that made the really great offenses tick and most of those players are WR because a great offense has to have a great qb and the line and running backs are a unit so WR is the one position on offense where a team can get a real advantage because qb's with a TE as the number one receiver get branded like Alex Smith and people say they cant go deep when his number one receiver was Jeremy Maclin in his waning years or when he was on the Niners and their best receiver was the TE Davis but he got Tyreek and lead the NFL in yards per completion. I think Tyreek is a horrible human and I wudnt mind if he got lit on fire, fell out a window and got hit by a bus, but he is one of the truly gamebreaking wr in the league right now with Chase, Jefferson, Waddle and potentially Jameson WIlliams so I think the Chiefs offense is going to dissapoint people who think they wont miss Tyreek unless they actually take advantage of their o line and start running the ball a lot. Second I think that Baltimore should have never traded Orlando Brown. He played Ok as a tackle for the Ravens when Staley was hurt but I didnt see the next great left tackle and I didnt think he was elite at right tackle and that being in a run first offense was helping him. I think when he came out with his trade request the Ravens should have set him down and explained that he wasnt as good as he thinks he is and he needs to reevaluate himself if he really wants to live up to his dad because he didnt even look like a future HOF right tackle let alone the best left tackle to ever do it. I like players trying to get the most money they can and wanting to play a certain position but all players who do that need to be able to look at themselves objectively because asking for more than a player is worth and not budging is how u get stuck in mercenary contracts and no one wants to commit to you. Brown is definitely good enough for a team with extra money to blow for a season to bring him in to shore up their line but he isnt good enough for any team to commit top of the market resources too for a number of years because doing that would require signing another player to cover up for signing a player to a massive deal that cant come through all the time whether it is a blocking TE to keep in to help or interior lineman that can go without double teams so the tackle can get help. I do realize that speed rushes is Browns biggest issue and running backs can mitigate that somewhat but u dont want to become predictable in your pass protection because that how u get free rushers on the qb.

    I like Orlando Brown. I think he’s a class act. But dude is high af if he thinks KC will pay him anything more than $17M per season. His dad played in the league too, so he’s just being selfish honestly because he doesn’t need the money

    • @thatonewriter8043
      @thatonewriter8043 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's exactly what his dad told him to do. "Play left, because you'll get paid." I mean, the crazy part is that they did offer him more than $17M. Their offer was five years, $91M ($18.2M average). I obviously can't go over exact details, but they apparently also offered $38M fully guaranteed (basically two years) and $52M protected against injury, according to reports.
      With that kind of money, unless he's really deluded himself into thinking he's the best, he'll be more than happy to sign next year. That's a good $3M over what I would value him at, personally.

      @@thatonewriter8043 allegedly he's trying to reset the tackle market. I don't see how he or anyone else can justify him making more than a player like Trent Williams. Pff isn't an end all, be all for me but they ranked Brown's performance as the 21st best in the NFL.
      Honestly, the ideal fit for me would have been for either the colts to trade for him either this off-season or last year's. Similar offenses, but much more of a bias towards the run and heavy personnel, and the $ to pay him. Him next to Nelson would have been and could be pretty nasty.
