Thinkin' Things Collection 1 is a game created by Edmark Corporation in 1993/1994. It is the first game of the Thinkin' Things Collection series.

I have spent nearly my entire life remembering "that one game with the spheres that move around while jungle music plays" as one of my very first computer game memories, and I finally found it by looking through myabandonware's windows 3.X games. My dad figured out how to burn CDs so he would just get a ton of random games and put them on discs for me and this was one of them

grandpa voice: back in my day, we had to put these things called CD's INSIDE our computers.
I feel like the Thinkin' Things games were the only Edutainment software that allowed for truly open-ended play. Everything else was so linear. It was a bunch of games where you could tell the program what to do, instead of the other way around.

There's this game, also made by Edmark, called Thinkin' Science: ZAP, and it's pretty open-ended. There's a Q&A mode and an Explore mode.
I vividly remember this game when I was a kid. For whatever reason my dad used to get all sorts of cool PC games free from work and would let me play with them on his computer on the weekends. Don’t know why he got them because he didn’t work for a computer company but I loved them all!

At long last I found it!! I played this in kindergarten and for years didn't actually know what the name of it was. But that flying balls creation thing was a memory that stuck with me for years. In kindergarten we had this game on the computers to play during centers time and we all just called it "The Nickel" game because the icon you had to click on to play it was just a white circle.

Ah nothing beats the high pitched audio noises in the voices of these old games. I know audio quality back in the day was functioning less HD than now or had to be compressed in smaller files that resulted in such sounds but I like it since it's a part of my childhood games hehe

In portuguese this game was called "Pense Brincando 1". And when Oranga Banga said see ya later in portuguese, he said "até à vista". That word of him saying "até à vista" scared me when I was a kid.

My favorite was the spheres to music. The trick was dragging them with the cursor to get different speeds
the one with the spheres and gradients was probably the first computer game i ever played. I've been looking for this!

I remember this. Mostly Oranga Banga, Toony the Loon, the Fripples (“Thanks, and the luck o’ the Irish be with ye!”) and the part with the shapes bouncing around. I seem to recall it being revamped as Toony the Loon’s Lagoon or some such…

9:03 I remember one of my classmates playing the musical sphere game and dancing in front of the computer. 24:40 Same kid used to call Fripples "diapers" for whatever reason.
21:29 My friend and I used to think the chicken xylophone was the funniest thing ever, and we'd turn the game on just to play with it. I always misremembered this one as being from one of the Jumpstart games.

Holy fucking shit. I was looking for Dutch gameplay of Sammy's Science House because of nostalgia and came across this. My nostalgia went through the roof! I remember this all too well minus the English voices since I'm Dutch and a lot of my old games were localized.
