A citizen is not required to provide identification except in certain specific circumstances. And police staff are civilians, not officers. They’re not obliged to identify themselves. They’re actually nice people who’ve helped me out when I needed it. They’re not deserving of this troll pissing them around for views.

@@imconfused1237 I think the correct term would be a citizen and I'm pretty sure while on duty to some legal capacity they are counted as citizens, not civilians as they are employed by a state government with certain rights and obligations while off duty yes they're are civilians unlike officers who remain, citizens. I mean I could be wrong I don't have a law degree.
Let's be honest this guy is not a troll, he clearly has no malicious intent is very mature and humble with a rather dulcet tone, his questions are reasonable and the only issue most jumped up idiots have is because he has a video camera which I'm pretty sure if they don't approach him or just had the wisdom to ask politely not to film their face when he approaches them he would be happy not to do so.

AB, where do you get all your information about rights of recording and the laws that cover you when you go out auditing? Interested in doing something similar in my area and want to make sure I know all my rights and privacy laws etc so I can be confident in dealing with the police in these situations.
