Both exhaust sound great , different taste for different people . ECS is definitely more refined and the ability to open and close the valves are a game changer . Them crackle and pops and the end of your pull tommy 🤤 .

Tommy Linebarger I have the awe track with the awe non res downpipes what is it that gives yours the crackle at the end of the pull is it the test pipes?
I honestly love the raw sound of yours a little more. The valved does sound clean but damn that awe sounds good.
Appreciate the video but this isn't a fair comparison of the ECS vs AWE. The JHM test pipes change the sound completely.
This was a great comparison, however, only one car at a time should have been running at a time. The AWE exhaust was adding to how loud the ECS exhaust was. Thanks for putting this together!!
The Awe definetly sounds better for damn sure.. But it is quite loud and I dunno if I would like it thaat loud.. And the option to open/close the valve would be really nice while yeah, having a more refined exhaust note to it on the ECS.

ECS Definitely sounds cleaner and a bit more character rather than just noise.AWE isn't too bad though.
The AWE touring exhaust on its own is much better.
He is not using full AWE system.... I have full AWE touring exhaust with APR Down pipe... Most people agree its the best system for a DSG. You get no or little drone and it sounds great whether its a cold start or your getting on it. Add the APR tune, dual pully and APR intake and its amazing. Bottom line to each their own.
So the one with AWE Exhaust, it doesn’t have a Cat, no front resonator... how about the catback, does it have the AWE resonated version? Or is it just straight pipe all the way down to the rear mufflers/tips?

I prefer yours. But as for sound the polo sounds leaps and bounds better.
Can’t wait to hear what it’ll sound like paired with those test pipes. Really wish they’d sell without the downpipes so that I could buy the JHM HFC downpipes and test pipes. Overall both cars sound good.
they both rattle, this was a hard one, awe sounded better untill the ecs one opened his valves then it sounded the bestter of the two, the awe is just loud but I know that the resonated awe sounds realy good also.
Its his test pipes that make it loud. The AWE exhaust on its own sounds great.
like the pops and burbles of awe, but I like the open valve ecs exhaust the best out of all the ones I've heard. I'm not a fan of dirty and loud, but I want a little more than stock on mine. the ability to close the valves is great to, since I don't come home from work till like 3 in the morning sometimes so I don't want to wake the entire neighborhood up
Mannn if you do the valved resonated that'd be awesome. Could get a really good idea of how it sounds on a test piped car because I am really considering doing test pipes soon with my S4 but don't want the added noise, lol.
Hey Tommy! A couple of questions about your rear S4 badge. Is that something you bought like that or did you customize it so that it's not red (leads me to my second question)? Is that badge simply grey or is that carbon fiber?
What size are the tips on the AWE? And also which diffuser? I have the 102mm for a B8 and wondering if it'll fit haha.
Are you planning to get any resonated downpipes? I also have the awe touring and wanted to go with test pipes

Hey, Tommy. I’ve seen this car in the BBK review video. What exhaust setup of his would you say is louder - His previous AWE Touring setup with non resonated downpipes or this new ECS Resonated setup in open mode?

Not really a good comparison. Test pipes add more rasp. My car sounded much better before my catless DP. Actually my car sounds like shit anyways, it's an EB Mustang lol. I'm digging the ESC exhaust, not much of a fan of the AWE.

Made it better by extending the exhaust out, but still there under load between 2k-3k
