This is based on the true story of Rana himself - the kid who is singing this song.. He was found in the streets by the author / composer of this song Tabib, who was a student of Dhaka University at that time. Tabib was so touched by Rana's story that he wrote this song based on his story, took him under his wings and encouraged and trained Rana to sing these songs. I think Rana goes to school nowadays.
*SEHRI & EFTARI* = Muslims all over the world fast everyday from dawn to dusk during the Arabic month of Ramadan as a religious practice / ritual. This practice of fasting is called *"Roza"* . They take one meal called *"Sehri"* right before dawn before starting the daily fast and then take the next meal called *"Eftari"* at sunset to break the fast. Rana in this song is teasing his countrymen saying that while they practice "Roza" or fasting as a religious practice only for one month - eating SEHRIS & EFTARIS everyday and feels great satisfaction and thinks they know what hunger is and how the starving people feel, he (Rana) practices "Roza", ie 'fasts' or forced to fast -- all year long without any SEHRIS & EFTARIS!!! It's a kind of sarcasm in the lyrics.
"Gully" actually comes from the Bangla word "Golee" which means 'a backstreet alley'. In this case, a backstreet alley in a poor area. So Gullyboy means a kid from such an alley who doesn't go to school, works as a child labourer, may take drugs, etc etc..
