You can buy reuseable k cups on amazon for like 14 bucks. You will have to buy filters for those separately (k cups do have filters also) but you can use any coffee at that point. Much cheaper and minimal to no waste! I don't have one of those coffee makers, but i try to spread the word whenever someone isn't in the know.
Thanks for all the great info you provide! I'll be getting started 3D printing and building things once i move and you've been a tremendous resource! Keep em comin!

Wish we had something like that @ ZAR17 to the $, it is less than 50% of what we pay for the stuff here in South Africa. A roll of foam tape will set you back ZAR60 for a smaller roll, and then the quality sucks big time.

They also have long shoe horns. You can use these to help put on your shoes before you walk to your 3D printer. They sell different types of soda and snacks which you can use as refreshers while working on your 3D prints. They also sell various puzzle books and physical puzzle that are great for passing the hours while your 3D printer is working. Finally they sell toilet paper, which you're going to need when you visit the bathroom after eating and drinking all the snacks that you bought. Oh, I almost forgot, they sell LED light bulbs, which are super important for lighting up the room when 3D printing at night!

@@3DJapan I saw that too. It works great for priming and I also used it for spraying alclad chrome and it did a great job. You will need to buy an adapter though for a standard air compressor. Someone finally did a video on this! :P :) The nail clips/tweezers - totally. I use mine for cutting a new filament end for feeding into the extruder motor. Also a low profile ~5"x7" at .75" tray under the Y-axis belt for ditching stray filament bits 'n' pieces - my print zone is clean - but the area around it can be a collection of broken filament ends, and stringings/hairs. Finally, the modeling/hobbyist cardboard reinforced foam sheets at ~1/8" in thickness - some 2'x3' in diameter or whatever - one can start enclosing their print zone space for ABS or other acclimating setups. :) Chill video notes! :)

Keep an eye out to for "clearance" bins at Wal-Mart and even Ace Hardware. I picked up a pack of cleaning brushes at Ace that had a 1" brush and then a tip brush that was maybe 1/2". One was a steel bristle, one brass, and one hard plastic. Steel is great for cleaning off the heater block and ESPECIALLY the z-rod, brass for the nozzles, and the hard plastic is good for getting rid of the occasional stringing on a print without needing a lighter / heat gun.

Yay! You pronounced 'isopropyl alcohol' correctly!
Seriously... great tips video - thanks brother.
PS - re: superglue - the best way I've found to purchase it is in the SMALL 'SINGLE USE" FOIL MULTIPACKS. Every time I've bought the big, plastic bottle you did, the tip not only starts clogging well before the glue is used up (it usually starts clogging after 10% or so is used), but I've also had the majority of the glue harden eventually inside the bottle. The small packs, however, seem to not only last longer than the big plastic bottle (maybe because they're foil?) but if I DO accidentally leave the cap off or something, all that gets ruined is that tiny amount. Much more cost effective (and less frustrating) in the long run in my experience. =)

Try leaving your IPA sit for a few days, all the resin sediment settles to the bottom. If you use a container with a tap you can drain out most of the IPA very clean, and only filter the last bit the tap doesn't let out (the dirty bit below the tap level).

Harbor Freight is also a great place to get consumables on the cheap, like paintbrushes for epoxy adhesives. Their epoxy is pretty good, but you'll want little paper cups from the dollar store or Daiso (which is also a fantastic shop for cheap stuff). Harbor Freight also sells decent tools like dental picks.

Video Suggestion: Do this same video except instead of things to buy at the dollar store for 3D printing, how about, things at the store you don't buy because you can 3D print them instead. After getting my 3D printers, I strive to stop buying things that I could print instead. If you really think about it, between FDM and SLA printers, there are so many things you can print on demand as opposed to buy it at the stores. One example from this video is that little round parts compartments you use for your nozzles. No reason that couldn't be printed. I know it probably couldn't be designed and printed for $1, but the idea is that in the future, instead of buying things, you would buy print files for anything that you need.

Graet video!. as far as spraying glue on the print bed, i would keep using glue sticks. Over-spray would hit the tracks and other moving parts and gum up the works over time me thinks.

A useful item you missed is in the kitchen wares section... Just simply labeled as "Chopping Mats"... You get two 11" x 14" transparent cutting/work mats. I keep a bunch on-hand, come in useful in many different tasks... like a cheap mat while cleaning resin prints, etc.

That's great idea for storing nozzles. I would suggest using higher quality electrical tape. I've used cheap and quality tape. The glue on the cheap stuff goes bad much quicker and leaves a gooey mess.

Yes, when it comes to tape, you get what you pay for. That goes for duct tape, shipping tape, masking, etc. It’s worth the extra couple bucks for good quality tape, in my experience.

@@roofoofighterI didn't think about it when I made that comment, probably the best recommended for doing wire splices on printers, is heat shrink tubing it's a great alternative to tape and I think many of the videos I've seen on upgrades, Bltouch etc, they used heat shrink

I've used Dollar Store super glue for years. It's not the **best** CA out there, but perfectly adequate for routine use. On the really tough jobs, I still use one of the specialized CAs (think waterproof...).

K-cups aren't bad if you take them apart. Recycle the plastic, toss the paper and mesh. OR use a metal basket style k-cup. OR, ditch the machine for a french press. Save and dry the used coffee grinds for terrain and basing.
