    Presenter: Sharon Adarlo
Graphic novels are not just about superheroes, and they are not just for comic book geeks! Over the years, this art form has matured from men in tights to a wide range of subjects, including first-person memoir graphic novels and compelling journalism that shines a light on once hidden subjects.
We will explore the graphic novel in its many different forms, from the typical superhero comics that we all know and love to the experimental. We will also discuss zines, as they are a very similar product.
    About the Presenter
Sharon Adarlo is a writer, artist, illustrator and maker. She has studied at UVA, New York Academy of Art, School of Visual Arts and Grande Central Atelier. She is an accomplished artist, whose style ranges from cartoonish to traditional, classical art. She is keenly interested in how we can meld together art and writing into compelling storytelling. From this interest, she is currently collaborating on a webcomic about immigration, in addition to a solo project of a graphic novel. In another lifetime, she was a breaking news and crime reporter, covering everything from crime all over the New York City metro area to SuperFund sites and dognappings in New Jersey.
This program is part of the 2022 Big Read, which encourages the Pennington community to read the same book and participate in a wide variety of events.
