Oh thank you Cheyenne! I’ll keep doing I’m gal. Next in line will be cauliflower. I’ll hold off on lettuce is in radishes a while longer because they really don’t like the heat. Stay tuned sister.
Mustard greens are the best , always finish mine off on the plate by pouring a bit of pickled jalapeño juice on top , big ole slice of cornbread and butter .. yum yum !!!❤
So this is my first everything this year! Praise the Lord, our corn was not lost we actually got about 30 ears off today!! The storms had no impact on them!! We just need to get to them before the raccoons do!! I've always wanted an herb garden and this is in big planters on my deck. I have dill (bloomed), 3 big leaf basil, 2 Italian oregano, a Rosemary bush and Sage (that is exploding). I've already harvest some of everything and dehydrated that. You mentioned you got seeds off your dill. How do I get seeds from my herbs so I can plant my own next year? I've been canning my brains out for the past 3 weeks. I canned 4 qts of green beans along with 12 pints and lost all but 8 pints. I found out the hard way to not use lids I've had for who knows how long! I ordered all new lids/rings. I've been watching every video you've ever done, soaking it up like a sponge!!! Our green beans look really good and I'll probably make up for what I lost. Live and learn. ❤❤ If you could share about gathering seeds from herbs, I would greatly appreciate it!! Thank you and keep 'em coming!!
@ntxg I haven't found that one yet but between the major storms we've had the past 2 weeks (our house in MO we are trying to sell had some slight damage, but nothing major), rescuing, harvesting, and canning, I've not been watching much of anything in recent days. I'll keep looking! Thanks for getting back to me! Many blessings and stay safe!
God bless you Mrs.Jill Thank you for sharing all your information. Its so hot here in Montgomery County, Texas Be Safe and God bless you & your family . Mrs josette ❤🙏🙏🙏🙏
I just got a nozzle that mists/fogger - like your pump but you can attach it to the hose so you don't have to keep pumping - works wonderfully and I wish I got this years ago - great for the seedlings!
Good idea on labeling the seeds on where they came from. We are starting seeds here in a few weeks. I'm going to start them in our mud room so they don't bolt. The heat is terrible. Praying for rain for all of us. God bless.
Always great to see what other people are starting when in my area! Very helpful and then I don't have to squint to see the dates on the seed packets! Blessings!
Hello! I'm a new subscriber! Okay you convinced me, I'm going to try it lol! Thank you so much for all these amazing videos. I would have been lost without you this year (first year garden)! Where do you keep your seed trays while waiting for germination? Sun? Shade? Indoor grow lights? I'm in Keller, TX 🤔 As you know its hot hot still but a fall harvest would be amazing. I have most of the seeds you sowed in todays video, but no idea where to set them lol 😀

Great information! I'm in south Louisiana, just north of New Orleans - zone 9a. I do hobby gardening - tomatoes, onions, peppers, okra - in pots in my backyard. For the first time I'm going to to a second round of tomatoes and okra. I started seeds in my house last week and they're already about 2" tall. I'm very interested in having a fall garden, too. Your info here was really helpful. And Jill, I feel your pain with these hot and humid summers. We simply have to hibernate from mid-July to end of August. Ugh. Take care and blessings to you and yours!
QUESTION ?? 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅 What happens if you do not pull a tomato plant, and keep it going and alive, how long would it last... ?? Where I live in Canada, winter kills most things dead in the vegetable garden, but I have always wondered how long a healthy well nourished tomato plant could potentially keep going and giving.😊❤
Hi Heidi! It will last until the first freeze. We don’t keep ours alive through the summer because it gets too hot and we spend too much time watering it and trying to keep it alive so it’s better for us just to start more so that they have a better start during the fall.
I lived in Ft. Worth. One year I planted tomatoes along my fence line. I had tomatoes all winter. That was just one year though, it never happened again. 😂 But leave them in the ground if you have the room and just see if it works.
Jill, I did some research on spider mites and there is a predatory mite that eats the mites AND their eggs. It’s expensive but so is spider mite damage. I’m gonna give it a try.
Wow Jill...this was terrific info. Quick question on watering seed trays after the sprouts are up---do you switch to watering from the bottom? I had just started some seeds and I had one little group of plants do that damping off or whatever it's called. They rotted right at the soil line...goners. No, I don’t let water sit in the tray, Sandra, because it does tend to get root rot and honestly I don’t intend for them to stay long in these trays. I put the majority of them in a 3 inch pot, and then maybe a pot to a 6 inch before putting into the ground so I can control the environment a little better. Love you girl.
