  • My 2014 Toyota Corolla had a rattling bonnet when the car is idling. The bonnet was replaced following an accident and new height adjusting rubber spacers were installed but not properly height adjusted. The rattle could be heard at traffic lights, in the driveway and could be heard inside the car....very annoying.

Thank you for this. I just fixed the hood vibration in my 2011 Toyota Sienna with its 2 adjustable grommets. You’re the best.

Thanks. I've never uploaded a YT video before and have an old 2013 iPhone 5 which didn't make videoing very easy. The bonnet is perfect now after playing with all four rubber spacers.

Hahaha, me too and it’s not even my car. Don’t think my wife really cared as to her the car is just this “thing” that gets her from A to B and somehow gets cleaned and detailed from time to time and serviced. But, driving it occasionally, that rattle really bothered me

Did you get rid of the rattle? If so was it by increasing or decreasing the height to actually eliminate the rattle?

Yep, all fixed. There is sweet spot you need to find by winding them up or down. Down to too far and there’s too much movement for the bonnet, but up too far then it’s too hard to close the bonnet as pressure doesn’t allow it to close easily
