Oh man, it's been a long time since I checked your vidos and I also missed you and I agreed that this arc is the culmination of the post-two years of the peak💙💜
It's actually my favorite arc in the series. I absolutely loved the futuristic take on an island, it felt like I was in a futurama episode mixed with a video game but spun and woven into the one piece world. I also should note that tech "societies" in fantasy worlds are just my favorite, in the chinese series scissor seven there's the Stan kingdom of technology and they also had a trippy einstein like logo, this type of stuff is just goated lmao. Always fun to see lightsabers, mechs/giant robots, and super advanced sci-fi tech.
I love how egghead starts right after one of the darkest moments in the entire series, we thought it would be a fun side adventure and then it slowly transitions into that same dark atmosphere with luffy and the strawhats acting as the sole light. I always viewed the series as having two separate storylines, Luffy's story and One Piece's story, where the latter is a lot darker and grim, Luffy's story is mostly fun. this arc most likely serves as the two stories merging into each other
Egghead is a very confident statement that the promise this series has made about answers to the questions it poses would be delivered on. It takes many of the pieces Oda has been setting in place since Thriller Bark in some cases, if not earlier and sets them in motion at breakneck speed.
Mr. Manu, your Awards Presentation is perfect... Thank you for this video - so much detail but summarizing MY interpretations of the themes in this epic arc. It needs to be said! Sorry I didn't see @Ohara's vid on Egghead sooner, it's the best!!!!! w00t! 😀 Cheers, youtube! Theorize away.
People complaining about Egghead not being Franky's arc and Wano being Zoro's weren't paying attention. The only ones pushing that narrative were _fans._ There was nothing in the story that pointed to Wano being about Zoro or Egghead being about Franky. Usopp and Elbaf have been tied together since Little Garden. Repeatedly. It's not the same.
Vegapunk was connected to Franky and all the sword lore was connected to Zoro. Not necessarily the islands. It's very obvious there's hidden sword lore we don't know and that some characters, like sukiyaki, knew about "black blades" and we got teased about the lore behind the kitetsu blades when Luffy picked up one of them. The whole thing is we are in the final saga and we expected to get more answers little by little rather than a huge lore dump at the end of series, and we can't deny most fans won't be happy if it isn't talked about at all. I think it also connects to the fact we aren't getting as many individual crew moments anymore.
@@ElNavegador- Yes, Vegapunk was connected to Franky. And he spent the time skip at Vegapunk's old lab. Zoro has never been particularly interested in sword lore. He's just interested in becoming the strongest swordsman. There has been very little development and very few individual crew moments, that's true and that is something that is sorely missed.
@@Rutabega_NG indeed Zoro isn't worried but maybe being here at Wano has made him realise there's more to them? Also I'd love if there was a gag anime/cartoon at one point of solely the Straw-hats day to day being around each other 🤣
@@Rutabega_NGBut then why hint at Zoro’s connection through Ryuma in Thriller Bark, and then within Wano itself via the samurai in Yamato’s flashback and the Wano citizen in Zoro’s?
Guys, here‘s an idea why the Gorosei are "invincible". Takes a while but it’s worth it: First we have to ask, what hurts Prometheus (Big Moms flame)? Luffy couldn’t hurt him with Haki and Zoro‘s fire cutting technique was only temporary. The only thing that worked were Brooks soul powers. Because Prometheus is not a real person but a soul being created (by Big Mom). The same thing could be with the Gorosei being souls created by Imu (that‘s why the Gorosei refer to Imu as the creator and that‘s why Oda introduced us to multiple Vegapunks in the same arc). That’s why they also didn’t know everything about the Nika fruit, because they weren’t created by Imu at that time of Joyboy/Nika. And they need this magic circle to switch to their demon form from the underworld. Probably Brooks and Venusjuros icepowers are the same. We also saw it in movie Red, where Shanks and Luffy had to defeat this monster by attacking it from both worlds. And souls never die in One Piece, eg during the death of a devil fruit user the soul of the fruit just wanders to a new fruit, so that would also explain why they don’t age, because their body is just a vessel for their soul. We could also extend this theme to Imu being the ruler of the underworld (devil / satan), explaining why we saw the giant strawhat frozen (chill of the underworld), Imu having a devil‘s tail and Imu being earth in this planetary theme of Jupiter, Venus, Sun and so on, since satan is also seen as ruler of earth in Christian beliefs. If Luffy is the Sun God, then obviously the natural enemy is the real devil, who can cast / rule over demons (Gorosei) in Christianity. That‘s why Sabo also said there is hell on top of the earth. Sounds ironic that it‘s called devil fruits then, but what if it wasn’t called like this in the first place? These fruits as manifestations of peoples dreams sound like something good and maybe they were created by Nika as a gift, from god to humans. But the devil is known to trick/fool people so he named them devil fruits to label them as something bad (remember Doflamingo said that good&bad is just determined by the ones in power). That‘s also the reason why Imu wants to flood the whole world, so he can remove all devil fruit users because they are leftovers/reminders from his natural enemy, Nika. Furthermore, the Devil is also depicted as a dragon giving a scepter to the beast of the sea on the wikipedia page from Devil in Christianity. So devil and sea somehow belong together (check out Leviathan on wikipedia, there is so much stuff that fits, e.g. Leviathan symbolizing red line, which Brogy and Dorry can’t destroy). This would also explain why devil fruit users can’t swim because it is said that it enrages the sea, also fitting again to the theme of Imu representing Earth as the blue planet. You don’t need to take it too serious and it still doesn’t answer all the questions, eg why did Joyboys conquerors Haki push them out of their form although Kumas or Luffys Haki attack didn’t do anything and why could Saturn summon the rest of the Gorosei? But nonetheless, maybe Oda got inspired from all of this.

Yeah we can tell you in just a few words. Pacing, combination of things we've wanted to see for a long time, and a lot of exposition of end game characters. Banger of a arc!
Egghead was incredible! I still considered it a transition arc so I wasn't expecting even a quarter of what we got. Rewatching it with anime has been a treat, Even while they were animating less than a chapter per episode. There was just so much happening that you can get away with that to an extent. The panel after Robin found out Saul was still alive, where she was just smiling with tears in her eyes, _that_ is the one that makes me smile. Happy Robin makes me happy. The bigger themes of Egghead are very interesting. I am grateful for creators like yourself who can point out the things that I likely missed. It adds depth to the arc, a depth that I sensed was there but couldn't necessarily reach. I agree with all of your superlatives. And some of those were difficult.
mentioning "who else could be a clone" made me consider teach or shanks being a clone. teach a clone of xebec and shanks a clone of the unknown character looking for the one piece/possibly the shanks? that met the gorosei. since the kuma clones and seraphim exist there are alot of clones in the story. even caribou might be a clone created by Prince Grus. whose devil fruit is oddly similar to caribous existence. and would explain various odd details about caribou though-out the story.
I feel like Egghead was a massive breath of fresh air after such a long and tiring saga. Wano was mentioned since Punk Hazard and the fights lasted about 4 years! We learned so much in a short but so remarkable arc. Also, such amazing fights and flashbacks!
EggHead has easily been my favorite post time skip and its mot Eben close. Some parts went by too quickly but the info bombs. Almost every chapter was a banger. I will say Elbaph has hyped me up so far. It's a great time to be a fan!
Its called pacing. Egghead made everything feel fresh, new, and important. Wano had the same fight 5 times and made me want to gouge my eyes out. It was such a slowly paced arc it almost ruins the gear 5 reveal and the most important information learned in the story to that point. The only thing that saved Wano is the animation and fights were really well done. I just hate that there is so much mind numbing filler that is so hard to watch/read and it just takes so long to get to the good parts to where they just don't hit as hard as they should
I'm so glad they are remaking the anime with better animation and pacing. If they fix the pacing and find a way to maintain the world building ad intricate details, so many more people will be able to enjoy the greatest story of all time.
Egghead island arc was so awesome it made me start reading the manga, something I never did before for any other serie or one piece. I skipped wano cause it (and it's build up) was waaaay to long but egghead had the right amount of chapters
find das auch wild wie lange Booneys story geplant war auf Sabaody spricht sie davon das alles eines jemands schuld ist jeder dachte damals sie meint Blackbeard aber NEIN sie meinte vegapunk
egghead is the best arc that is true until Elbaf and usopp destroys a giant Luffy figures out the weight that his ability carries robin meeting Saul and maybe her dad name upgrades get clime attackt Lilith joins and works with franky chopper hopefully gets a new form Jimbea taking a backseat we learn the demonic themes of brook and imu also imu will probably get that bird gorosei to get vivi probable bounty increases for over a billion in the cases of robin and usopp Not all of this might happen but wow it’s going to be jam packed
Vegapunk was actually first mentioned in Alabasta during ussop and chopper vs mr 4 and Ms merry Christmas. He had the gun that ate the dog dog fruit because vegapunk figured out how to feed devil fruits to objects.
One reason it was so good was because of unpredictability in wano kaido qas hyped as main villian bur egghead hidden its main villian from cp0 to kizaru to gorosei
Honestly think egghead could've been just a bit shorter, but did very well on getting all the 5 elders powers introduced which I didn't expect to happen in this arc
Here in my country, we have this famous guy that started to watch One Piece, but skipped straight to Egghead because "I don't like watching every episode of anything", or some crap like this, and is pissed because "I don't understand any of this". Like, ooh, f*cking wow, what a surprise, huh?!!
I think in the next arc Vivi will be reunited with Luffy and his friends and they’ll find the last road poneglyph and the truth of king cobra murder will be revealed to the world and imu Will be exposed and the marines will leave the world government!!
i was also let down that franky didn’t get more out of egghead, but i also am very excited for usopp! i also would really like to see nami prove herself as the best living navigator when it comes to getting to laugh tale or wherever the final stretch of the journey takes us
Egghead started so great. Brisk pacing, lots of intrigue. But it ended super flat. The time dilation made ten minutes feel like ten years. And Kuma, the pivotal character of the arc, went into sleep mode. Also apparently Franky means nothing to Oda.
I have feeling that boa Hancock or her devil fruit has something to do with joy boy as well , because why else would it be transferred as a lineage factor in the seraphim ?
My top 10 arcs 1. Egghead 2. Wano kuni 3. Skypiea 4. Dressrosa 5. Enies lobby 6. Alabasta 7. Marineford 8. Whole cake island 7. East blue saga 8. Sabaody 9. Post enies lobby 10. Zou This ranking maybe DISAPPOINTING for some as the general favs of most aren't highly ranked and i dont care I always loved the story of one piece more than the action in it
In the last chapter of Egghead (1125), we see Vegapunk abandoning his GREED, in chapters prior we see him leaving his EVIL, and in the end, he flew away with only his GOOD, THINKING, WISDOM, AND VIOLENCE in his brain. Hahaha hahaha for me, this one is the best arc
I'm going to be honest at first I was confused why you made this video but then I remembered more happened in this arc than Marine Ford lmao also Oda is the best writer ever I swear P.s. did anyone think about if Dory and Brogy joined the straw hats during little garden that besides a few moments the straw hats would dominate the grand line lol ik they couldn't fit them but still I love old characters not showing their full power showing up waaaay later showing that they got guns lml
Wano WAS zoro's arc. Zoro isnt story driven like sanji, he is action driven. He had the most significant fights, beating supernovas Hawkins, killer, and apoo, clashing with denjiro AND his usual crew match up against king
Egghead has been my favorite arc since the time skip, wano was great but dragged at some times, wholecake was good as well but not the same level for me. I know I’m missing the chaser arc and the flamingo arc they was alright as well but nah. Egghead has been awesome and dropped so much info.
Most hype moment for me would honestly go to the moment when Luffy in gear 5 held off both an Elder Star AND Kizaru at the same time. That panel made Luffy look devilish. Im disappointed that this moment didnt even get an honorable mention in the best gear 5 moments award T.T

I’ve had a question that I’ve seen no one talk about hopefully you all can answer it. Vega punk is “dead” but with his Brain still in Pumk Records and Lilith being alive and unsure about York will his Devil Fruit respawn?
I've wondered about that one myself. I think no. It's stated that every clone has a full copy of Vegapunk and then a specialty and Lilith later mentioned that Luffy did keep his promise, he saved Vegapunk. Both of those say to me that, as far as the fruit is concerned, Vegapunk is still alive.
It would only make it worse. Luffys childlike stupidity and simple mindedness is basically his defining character trait and the driving factor behind his entire motivation and who he is as a person. If he was the typical "smart anime protagonist" then OP would just be like all the other boring, standard, formulaic anime littering the bowels of crunchyroll. Luffy would be boring if he was smart and all his actions were calculated.
Two things I've thought of. First, Vegapunk's fruit is 100% the most powerful in the story so far because its the *only* one shown to be able to create actual life. Second, I just realized Kuma is essentially Emiya Shirou 2.0. Not a bad thing, just find it kinda interesting.
From Kuma's backstory, to the reveal of the Gorosei, and the dynamics between Kizaru and Sakazuki, the entire Arc was awesome, I loved it.

mentioning "who else could be a clone" made me consider teach or shanks being a clone.
teach a clone of xebec
and shanks a clone of the unknown character looking for the one piece/possibly the shanks? that met the gorosei.
since the kuma clones and seraphim exist there are alot of clones in the story.
even caribou might be a clone created by Prince Grus. whose devil fruit is oddly similar to caribous existence.
and would explain various odd details about caribou though-out the story.
i really think were gonna find out the world wasnt islands before the void century but an entire land that changed with the rising seas
Finally i can see your content while living in japan without a vpn
8:18 lets not forget Sanji was also the first straw hat to put his hands(feet) on a gorosei
Bonney became one of my favourite characters after this arc
I feel like Egghead was a massive breath of fresh air after such a long and tiring saga. Wano was mentioned since Punk Hazard and the fights lasted about 4 years! We learned so much in a short but so remarkable arc. Also, such amazing fights and flashbacks!
Wano was first mentioned in thriller bark. It was being set up in punk hazard
hi i been subed for like 2years and i love your videos
EggHead has easily been my favorite post time skip and its mot Eben close. Some parts went by too quickly but the info bombs. Almost every chapter was a banger.
I will say Elbaph has hyped me up so far. It's a great time to be a fan!
6:40 they forgetting about my guy Pearl
AYO love ur vids bro
58:17 I was about to say Sanji but that frontier dome was a great point
I'm a simple man. I see Ohara, I click like.
I was born in 05 around when ussop became the sniper king. I'm in my first few weeks of college now. One piece is just a story that will never die.
So long as people are alive, dreams will never die.
17:04 A small correction-Kuma was a bachelor and was not married to Ginny.
I cant wait for the onepiece ending theory video ❤
FINALLY I GET TO SEE YOUR VIDEOS HERE IN JAPAN
Been watching your content when i was back in the UK
EPIC VIDEO.
egghead is the best arc that is true until Elbaf and usopp destroys a giant Luffy figures out the weight that his ability carries robin meeting Saul and maybe her dad name upgrades get clime attackt Lilith joins and works with franky chopper hopefully gets a new form Jimbea taking a backseat we learn the demonic themes of brook and imu also imu will probably get that bird gorosei to get vivi probable bounty increases for over a billion in the cases of robin and usopp
Not all of this might happen but wow it’s going to be jam packed
yea egghead exceeded in places where wano couldn’t but…. wano also exceeded in places where egghead didn’t
Y know pointing out the fact that nami usopp and chopper didn’t hesitate vs a top tier is such a good point i over looked, you’re absolutely right
I just noticed the parallels between Sanji and Marco as they both block Kizaru's lazers!!! That's my vice captain!
Firts one love your vids❤❤
Kuma and Bonney's backstory killed me.
I like this guy he really knows his stuff
Love Ohara ❤
Remember when everyone thought Egghead would be a "Short Arc"
It was
Honestly think egghead could've been just a bit shorter, but did very well on getting all the 5 elders powers introduced which I didn't expect to happen in this arc
I think it was just long enough. The vega punk speech went on to long though.
@@ollehkacb exactly, it wasn't bad at first, though I did hope we would get some deep void century lore
@@patrickzalatoris3206 i was hoping for more devil fruit info. Like how you feed inanimate objects devil fruits
there was literraly no time for franky to learn from vegapunk when they were running away from the world government
If there are defectors i think it will be when they find laugh tale
Ohara always drops banger video.
i was also let down that franky didn’t get more out of egghead, but i also am very excited for usopp! i also would really like to see nami prove herself as the best living navigator when it comes to getting to laugh tale or wherever the final stretch of the journey takes us
Vegapunk was also a really nice take on the character of Nagato from Naruto with his 6 Bodies he moved around.
Egghead started so great. Brisk pacing, lots of intrigue. But it ended super flat. The time dilation made ten minutes feel like ten years. And Kuma, the pivotal character of the arc, went into sleep mode. Also apparently Franky means nothing to Oda.
I really wonder how he does all these videos so fast
this one has been in the word for well over 2 months lol
@@Ohara-the-Foxdo u edit ur videos urself?
I have feeling that boa Hancock or her devil fruit has something to do with joy boy as well , because why else would it be transferred as a lineage factor in the seraphim ?
Maybe the orginal owner of the melo melo fruit was also in love with Joyboy.
My top 10 arcs
1. Egghead
2. Wano kuni
3. Skypiea
4. Dressrosa
5. Enies lobby
6. Alabasta
7. Marineford
8. Whole cake island
7. East blue saga
8. Sabaody
9. Post enies lobby
10. Zou
This ranking maybe DISAPPOINTING for some as the general favs of most aren't highly ranked and i dont care
I always loved the story of one piece more than the action in it
In the last chapter of Egghead (1125), we see Vegapunk abandoning his GREED, in chapters prior we see him leaving his EVIL, and in the end, he flew away with only his GOOD, THINKING, WISDOM, AND VIOLENCE in his brain. Hahaha hahaha for me, this one is the best arc
Every one piece fan should watch LAPUTA CASTLE IN THE SKY oda definetly cooked from the movie.
@@Pgs080 the idea looks similar but quite different.
I love you OHARAAAAAAAA
I'm going to be honest at first I was confused why you made this video but then I remembered more happened in this arc than Marine Ford lmao also Oda is the best writer ever I swear
P.s. did anyone think about if Dory and Brogy joined the straw hats during little garden that besides a few moments the straw hats would dominate the grand line lol ik they couldn't fit them but still I love old characters not showing their full power showing up waaaay later showing that they got guns lml
31:49 Vegapunk can't justify spending his budget on that. He would rather invest in his research.
Egghead has been awesome and dropped so much info.
i love the how lucci's beard is in times new roman
Der Arc war einfach nur Geil
you know why gol d roger has a d in his name bcs gol d if you combine both of it it makes gold so gold leads to the one piece
OMG OMG OMG HOUR LONG OHARA VIDEO LETS GI
Most hype moment for me would honestly go to the moment when Luffy in gear 5 held off both an Elder Star AND Kizaru at the same time. That panel made Luffy look devilish. Im disappointed that this moment didnt even get an honorable mention in the best gear 5 moments award T.T
happy sunday
Finally, we are close to the end,...
Just 10 more years
Punk knew he was to split himself into separate beings as soon as he decided to continue Clovers work. Knowledge and progress insurance
This arc is so complete and beautiful and I was just really realize of all of it with your explanation
From an Island full of Toys to an island full of animals to an island full of living food to an island based of ancient japan to an island full of future .. that is one piece
THAT KUMA FLASHBACK BROKE ME💔💔💔💔💔💔
That Kuma flashback broke everybody.
My personal top 5
1,Water 7/ennies lobby
2.Egghead
3.Skypiea
4.marineford
5.Alabasta
I’ve had a question that I’ve seen no one talk about hopefully you all can answer it.
Vega punk is “dead” but with his Brain still in Pumk Records and Lilith being alive and unsure about York will his Devil Fruit respawn?
I've wondered about that one myself.
I think no. It's stated that every clone has a full copy of Vegapunk and then a specialty and Lilith later mentioned that Luffy did keep his promise, he saved Vegapunk.
Both of those say to me that, as far as the fruit is concerned, Vegapunk is still alive.
That is what I wasn’t sure about his brain is still alive and Lilith is a part of him.
No.
Made the recap bit early😬🔥
Video idea: What if Luffy was smarter than in the original series
It would only make it worse. Luffys childlike stupidity and simple mindedness is basically his defining character trait and the driving factor behind his entire motivation and who he is as a person.
If he was the typical "smart anime protagonist" then OP would just be like all the other boring, standard, formulaic anime littering the bowels of crunchyroll.
Luffy would be boring if he was smart and all his actions were calculated.
Wow! I would be even more perfect if this video's length was 56 minutes
Two things I've thought of. First, Vegapunk's fruit is 100% the most powerful in the story so far because its the *only* one shown to be able to create actual life. Second, I just realized Kuma is essentially Emiya Shirou 2.0. Not a bad thing, just find it kinda interesting.
O’Hara puts out an egghead analysis before Morj 💀
So I think that what is coming now with the giants is not the last arg but more of a bridge type for the Last last section
IMO, Wano was great. Egghead was spectacular.
