I hope not too silly question. I noticed using same cutting tools for paper and other materials. (Noticed because good seamstresses would never cut paper with high quality fabric shears. 😆) Question is does paper NOT have the same effect on blades used for leather? I very much like seeing the craftsmanship ilustrated. Taking the time to check edge compression for example. I imagine for uniformity, a small detail if missed will be apparent in the end product. I've learned a great deal of technique watching this in addition to construction process for this bag. The application of adhesive alone a master class LOL. Thank you for sharing, have enjoyed it very much.
I noticed you didn't burnish the edges and painted it right away. Is it better to do it this way for this type of bag? Also for lining, if you don't glue the middle, wouldn't it cause it to lift overtime? Maybe too much glue will ruin the lining..? I'm not trying to criticize but just curious! Want to learn :) By the way, blue leather and white contrast stitching was a great touch!
Applying an adhesive to the entire lining may cause the lining to crumble. And the reason I used silver pan is to show it in the video. We don't use silver fans that much for real work.
As always a beautiful clean best job in leather craft…pls sir,I notice when cutting the pattern before putting it on cardboard you give about 2 cm on the other half of the pattern..why is that sir?

The lining I used in the video is a fabric called "Chamude". If it's hard to find, you don't have to use the same lining as mine. You can use regular fabrics.

Thank you for the video. I have a suggestion. Can you please place a ruler next to the bag so we can imagine how big the bag is. I like the design of this bag, if i want to make a bigger one, say 1.5 times the size you made, can i just multiply all the pattern by 1.5?

I believe he didn't burnish because it is a chrome tan leather not vegetable tan

The adhesive I use is an Italian product called “KENDA FARBEN”.
However, you can use any regular adhesive.
