never got to play this one... when i was a kid... played the sequels later... did manage to play the first kknd (kill krush and destroy) another good game from back then...stil have the gog version of it, along side with krossfire.
They really and truly don't make games like they used to. Tiberium Dawn (1995) and Red Alert (1996) both easily in my top 10 games of all time. Age of Empires II, for me, is the only other RTS to come close to these. 2020 has been such a great year for memory lane gaming so far - FFVII Remake, Streets of Rage 4, Half Life Alyx, Resident Evil 3 and now C&C Remastered Collection. Such a great time to be alive!

There's a big difference between games like Starcraft 1 with games like, say, Starcraft 2. 1 had a darker story that was more aware of socio-political norms and quirks than the second game, which was more of a straight-up fantasy space opera. That, and the VOs were definitely better in 1, even though the VOs in 2 were pretty damn good.

You are obviously quite experienced with this game and yet some of the missions (Looking at you 8) still look tough. It speaks to how hard the nod campaign really is.
Seth was trying to get you killed by sending you on a suicide mission, which would help him overthrow Kane (notice he says "Your mission is so secret even Kane knows nothing of it"). But Kane knew. Kane always knows.
I think Seth was getting envious of your achievments (the commander). In the previous cutscene's he showed some jelousy. I think he was trying to set you up with the pentagon mission so you would fail or die and Kane would demote you. But Kane finds out and ends him.
@Curtis Cullen Seth hates talented, ambitious commanders (by which I mean the player) because he sees them as competition for his position. By the time of the Pentagon mission, he's already tried to get you killed several times, but you keep succeeding despite the odds. Remember when he sent you on that mission (I think it's the 3rd or 4th mission) and told you "there are only a few scientists lurking about", but there was actually a full GDI base there? That wasn't a case of intel being wrong. That was Seth *lying* to you, in the hopes you would be unprepared when the GDI found you. The reason Kane killed Seth, though, is that he found out Seth was planning a coup. Obviously Kane did not like that. After shooting Seth, Kane had his corpse perfectly preserved inside a machine, as a warning to anyone who would dare circumvent Kane's authority. (You actually get to see the machine in _Command & Conquer: Renegade_ on the mission where you are trying to rescue Doctor Moebius.)
Oh, by the way, the guy playing Seth is not a professional actor. To save money, they used their own employees instead of hiring actors; Seth is played by Eric Gooch, who is a *graphics artist* currently employed by 343 Studios. You can see some of his work on his website, www.cybergooch.com
Is it just me or can the first red alert and first command and conquer be really unforgiving, I grew up playing the red alert games and dabbled in tiberium sun and my god are the first couple games so much harder. Im also curious at what speed you play it at

It's the same way the original Starcraft was more unforgiving than SC2. In SC1, everything can happen, from siege units blowing your base away piece by piece, to swarm rushes and even nuclear bombs being dropped. The newer series was more scripted and the AI was easier to predict and trigger. By the time they start firing nukes and start sending out Motherships against you, you're ready, unlike in the first game where Alpha Squadron drops a nuke on your head straight out of the blue or sends out Battlecruisers to start bombarding your base with laser batteries.
GDI Story line is alot better than the knod (if that's how you spell it). Knods campaign starts off with suspense then gradually fades. I feel like they got a little lazy towards the end with the writing and ended up rushing it.It could have been way better and that's disappointing. o well, Game has its place. Thanks for the upload.
Its spelled "NOD" actually. and yeah i loved the first half of the nod campaign more, when Kane killed seth and announced himself to the "commander"(player). one of my fav moments. Something that will stick with me for a long time lol

i find it funny that just one infantry unit is able to nearly destroy a tank with rifle fire.
To be fair, a great enough quantity of bullets WILL eventually wear through even the strongest armor. ......Eventually...

I've always spent time building full bases... That's obviously not needed if you play your cards right.
I never beat the damn mission after Seth gets shot, now I see how the played the game wrong and right into GDI's hands.

Why the levels if you play , not the same in the command and Conquer If i have.... I have the command and Conquer Gold....
In some cases you can choose a different path/mission during the map select screen. Maybe you chose different to me?
