So Dimash, a man who speaks Kazakh, sung SOS in French for his first performance. The next week he sung Opera 2 in Russian. Third week was in English with Show Must go on. And then!!! The Forth week was Autumn Strong in Chinese. I mean really people!!! Who can do that??? Can you do that??? And so how can anyone complain because 2 or 3 words in English may have been mispronounced? Bottom line, the guys voice is PHENOMENAL!!!! and it's impossible to find anyone who is his equal. If you have one, please tell me who he is. And more than that, Dimash's ability to put out emotions in a song is unparalleled! And he's only 22 here. He's freaking genius level!
This is for sure no genius level. Pretty bad sung in the way that in my opinion he is not conveying the emotions behind it (for me a deadly sin), with over the top vocals, not 100% stable at some times, and with some flaws in it. Not his best performance. Maybe a new try in 10 to 15 years?

Я очень любила Грегори Лемаршаля и поэтому настороженно начинала слушать первый раз исполнение Димашем песни S.O.S., но была покорена с первых нот. Первые ноты немного были похожи на голос Грегори, а дальше уже была чистая интерпретация Димаша. Это было, как волшебная эстафета от ушедших в будущее, песня лилась вобрав в себя опыт предыдущих и уже на базе этого опыта, добавлена гениальность настоящего.

His English got better but he needs to do some intense drills to improve his diction but it's 100% doable there are many tricks to hide Slavic accents while singing. His french pronunciation for S.O.S. was corrected multiple times but i don't think he needs to learn to speak it since the largest segment of fans are from Russia, Asia, and both North and South America. His Mandarin improved. Chinese reactors mention he's getting better so i assume it's true and just from comparing the cover he did to the native singers, it's obvious it's closer and closer to the originals.
There`s not enough superlatives to describe Dimash`s performances...each as good as, or better than the previous. It makes it hard to pick a favourite. He did damn good on this for someone who didn`t speak English. I think Freddie would approve. Cheers!

Just to bring to your attention about Opera 2 - Vitas never sang this song live (all the performances are the same studio recording) and his voice on the high notes is computer modified. Also Dimash did 3 modulations while Vitas only did one, and he did it live. Just facts. About Show Must Go On - that time he didn't speak English at all and it was his first time singing in English.
I am very hesitant to agree. I don't have the link but Vitas did do Opera 2 and it was the same, almost the same just 1 or 2 octaves lower. So i guess i mostly agree with you however the same people that attacked Vitas also attacked Dimash. Not for running tracks for good reason but for flat out auto-tune. So i don't want to give those people any credibility because the only evidence they showed was if you put their voices into auto-tune they sound the same. All that proves is they are pitch perfect, which they admitted was not impossible.
@@obe22099 I am not attacking Vitas, it is just a known fact that he never performed Opera live. Experts who tried to find a live performance came up with nothing. I am not a hater of Vitas, but a comparison should be fair.

I was following you down your Nightwish rabbit hole, but then got side tracked by Dimash reactions. His newer performances where he sings in English show that he has improved that aspect of his singing.. He does so many different genres of music that I sometimes think it's a completely different singer.

This song only gives a small sample of his lower register....you'll find out once you look at other performances beyond this competition... he has a world class operatic voice ranging from baritone all the way up past counter tenor... it's magnificent and rich. In fact right out of school, he was offered a position with the prestigious Astana Opera. He declined, as he desired to explore all genre's of music. He was younger in these videos and he has only gotten better and better in the last couple of years, although that's hard to imagine, given how good he is in this competition....nice job Jman

Loved this reaction. Many people have a very visceral reaction to Dimash and can't explain it. There is something about his voice that goes right to the soul of some people. Others don't feel it and we fans can't understand that, but know it happens. You may be thinking that there isn't too much more for you to discover with him, but that would be wrong. He has so much more and you will continue to be blown away.
I am so glad you are following Singer first. That is the best way to get to know Dimash. On the side maybe you can watch the Chinese game shows they have him on his first year after Singer. They gave Dimash great exposure adoring him all the way. Dimash in turn, made it a point to get to know the famous performers in China and eventually performed with them. His Dad managed him and they are handling his career amazingly well. I can say after three years, at the age of 26 Dimash is World Famous and very loved.

What you also have to know is that Dimash barely knew any English in this competition (basically thank you and hi). He also doesn't know any Chinese and he sings a song later on in Chinese, which he learnt in only one week. This guy is crazy talented, super smart, humble, you name it.

Because he gives it his all. And especially in the later songs, he commands that stage. And if you get to know him a bit as a person, you understand better why his music is what it is.
I usually have a hard time listening to anyone else than Freddie Mercury sing Queen songs, because to me he is such a legend and I love his voice. But this, this was fantastic
Dimash is the best of the best, Vitas with his voice and stage presents dies not even come clise, so Opera 2 from Dimash is the only version we can find cos Vitas wonnt allow Dimash to sing i anymore . So sad becouse he really gives it justice. Its a difficult and beautiful song

Heard this song live by Queen with Adam Lambert couple of years ago and that performance gave me big chills as does Freddys original too. Dimash made this song his, made some nice tweaks on it but doesn’t make my bodyhair go wild. It might be the excess falsetto and vibrato that puts me off, idk.

Re: Opera II They have said not to compare Dimash to Vitas. The reason, Vitas sings only in a Cappella where Dimash can use his full voice as well. Not only that but Vitas banned Dimash from singing this song again.
Not my favourite but part of the journey. 😄 I would love if he went for it from where he's today though. I guess we would get a completely different version making Queen and Freddie even prouder. 🌷
What a comparison? I may say that Vitas is far far far not comparable to Dimash. Dimash is the best singer in the world and every cover he did, he makes it his own. Freddie Mercury is one of his fav singers.

OK, listening to Dismash I found out I am a bit of pronounciating(?) snob...he has amazing techic but I don’t recognize the lyrics and that anoys me...same with Tarja singing Nightwish...can’t stand it..
Perhaps you haven't check out his other songs. He have lots of songs that doesn't have all this vocal power stuff if that is what you meant. Some people think that he is always showing his vocal power everytime he sings. Unfortunately, the songs where he shows his vocal power are the ones with lots of views and reactions on youtube and so for people who have not yet discover his other songs thinks that his songs are always that way. His MV song Akkuym is very much on the gentle side that you'd think he don't have so much power and range, as well as the new one he performed Marigold is gentle too. Another song gentle song that he always sings in his concerts is If I Never Breathe Again. There are a lot actually but I can't remember the exact titles. Would have to go back and search them on TH-cam.

And also, his great vocal range; in his own words, "not to brag, but as a tool" And so it is not easy to hear it at the beginning, nor to accept the high notes, because our level of understanding was not prepared for that. Even some reactors joke when he in high tones(still skewed by stereotypes).

Just to bring to your attention about Opera 2 - Vitas never sang this song live (all the performances are the same studio recording) and his voice on the high notes is computer modified. Also Dimash did 3 modulations while Vitas only did one, and he did it live. Just facts.

I am very hesitant to agree. I don't have the link but Vitas did do Opera 2 and it was the same, almost the same just 1 or 2 octaves lower. So i guess i mostly agree with you however the same people that attacked Vitas also attacked Dimash. Not for running tracks for good reason but for flat out auto-tune. So i don't want to give those people any credibility because the only evidence they showed was if you put their voices into auto-tune they sound the same. All that proves is they are pitch perfect, which they admitted was not impossible.
@@obe22099 I am not attacking Vitas, it is just a known fact that he never performed Opera live. Experts who tried to find a live performance came up with nothing. I am not a hater of Vitas, but a comparison should be fair.

This song only gives a small sample of his lower register....you'll find out once you look at other performances beyond this competition... he has a world class operatic voice ranging from baritone all the way up past counter tenor... it's magnificent and rich. In fact right out of school, he was offered a position with the prestigious Astana Opera. He declined, as he desired to explore all genre's of music. He was younger in these videos and he has only gotten better and better in the last couple of years, although that's hard to imagine, given how good he is in this competition....nice job Jman

Loved this reaction. Many people have a very visceral reaction to Dimash and can't explain it. There is something about his voice that goes right to the soul of some people. Others don't feel it and we fans can't understand that, but know it happens. You may be thinking that there isn't too much more for you to discover with him, but that would be wrong. He has so much more and you will continue to be blown away.
I am so glad you are following Singer first. That is the best way to get to know Dimash. On the side maybe you can watch the Chinese game shows they have him on his first year after Singer. They gave Dimash great exposure adoring him all the way. Dimash in turn, made it a point to get to know the famous performers in China and eventually performed with them. His Dad managed him and they are handling his career amazingly well. I can say after three years, at the age of 26 Dimash is World Famous and very loved.

What you also have to know is that Dimash barely knew any English in this competition (basically thank you and hi). He also doesn't know any Chinese and he sings a song later on in Chinese, which he learnt in only one week. This guy is crazy talented, super smart, humble, you name it.

I'm intrigued as to why it is such a common reaction for people to get emotional hearing and seeing him.
Because he gives it his all. And especially in the later songs, he commands that stage. And if you get to know him a bit as a person, you understand better why his music is what it is.
I usually have a hard time listening to anyone else than Freddie Mercury sing Queen songs, because to me he is such a legend and I love his voice. But this, this was fantastic

Dimash is the best of the best, Vitas with his voice and stage presents dies not even come clise, so Opera 2 from Dimash is the only version we can find cos Vitas wonnt allow Dimash to sing i anymore . So sad becouse he really gives it justice. Its a difficult and beautiful song

Heard this song live by Queen with Adam Lambert couple of years ago and that performance gave me big chills as does Freddys original too. Dimash made this song his, made some nice tweaks on it but doesn’t make my bodyhair go wild. It might be the excess falsetto and vibrato that puts me off, idk.

Re: Opera II They have said not to compare Dimash to Vitas. The reason, Vitas sings only in a Cappella where Dimash can use his full voice as well. Not only that but Vitas banned Dimash from singing this song again.
Not my favourite but part of the journey. 😄 I would love if he went for it from where he's today though. I guess we would get a completely different version making Queen and Freddie even prouder. 🌷
What a comparison? I may say that Vitas is far far far not comparable to Dimash. Dimash is the best singer in the world and every cover he did, he makes it his own. Freddie Mercury is one of his fav singers.

OK, listening to Dismash I found out I am a bit of pronounciating(?) snob...he has amazing techic but I don’t recognize the lyrics and that anoys me...same with Tarja singing Nightwish...can’t stand it..
Great singer, but every song doesn't have to show everything you got. Too mush everything.
Perhaps you haven't check out his other songs. He have lots of songs that doesn't have all this vocal power stuff if that is what you meant. Some people think that he is always showing his vocal power everytime he sings. Unfortunately, the songs where he shows his vocal power are the ones with lots of views and reactions on youtube and so for people who have not yet discover his other songs thinks that his songs are always that way. His MV song Akkuym is very much on the gentle side that you'd think he don't have so much power and range, as well as the new one he performed Marigold is gentle too. Another song gentle song that he always sings in his concerts is If I Never Breathe Again. There are a lot actually but I can't remember the exact titles. Would have to go back and search them on TH-cam.
