The editor is not Perry White. In the early comics Clark and Lois worked for the Daily Star and their editor was George Taylor.

Thank you - I stand corrected! According to my research, Perry White replaces George Taylor in the very next issue, Superman #7. Interestingly, it seems Perry White was first created for the new Superman radio program and then he was put into the comics.

Very interesting. Nice vid. Fun factoid. My late father was friends with Joe Shuster. THis was way back when, before Shuster moved to Cleveland, so my father was around 10 at the time, I figure. He was better friends with Frank Shuster, Joe's cousin, who was part of Wayne & Shuster, the Canadian comedy duo that was a favorite duo of Ed Sullivan for many years.

Thanks for sharing - that is fascinating! Did your father have any soties about Joe? I'd love to know what sort of a guy he was- he seems like he was a nice guy.

@@paulc.tumeyauthor3998 My father passed in 1985, so this is way back for me, and his friendship with Joe Shuster goes even further back. They used to hack around together when they were kids. My father said Joe was always quiet and sort of reserved; my father was the same way.
Even after Joe moved to Cleveland, befriended Jerry Siegel, and they created Superman, it never went to Joe's head. He wasn't an egomaniac, and neither was Jerry. I'm pretty sure they never realized just how popular Superman was going to be. DC done 'em wrong when they screwed them out of the money they could've made. Bob Kahn got a better deal. (By the way, my father also knew Kahn slightly...didn't care for his personality, too much ego).
Superheroes are cool. That's why I became a writer, and my first novel was about superheroes, although it centers on the view of the MC who is not super-powered.
