I'm still more likely to think of Hroptatyr as Irmin, since we technically get Irmin association with the title "Sage" in the Silver Twig Descriptions:
"Trees" also symbolize wisdom. In one of the legends, a sage hanging upside down on a tree had acquired the knowledge of how to inscribe runes and control sacred words, and thus followed the kingdom established along the tree's roots, eventually gaining a glimpse of the secret of the cosmos."
That, along with Hrpotatyr=Odin name makes me think that second who came (be it Nibelung or someone else) is most likely answer for Vinster King's identity.
I do hope that it's someone we at least got hints about, cuz it's weird to get a new character from Primordial Era at this point

Dain can definitely be in the possession of The Ring of Nibelung considering his Constellation is a literal Snake Ring which basically looks like a Vishap trying to eats its tail.

    • @DrakeWurrum

His constellation is Ouroboros, which is a symbol used for Jormungandr in Norse mythology. The serpent said to encircle Midgard (the world humans live on), who is one of the signs indicating that Ragnarok has begun (when it releases its tail). Thor and Jormungandr are supposed to fight to the death during Ragnarok.
Noteworthy, Jormungandr is Loki's middle child, having two siblings: Hel and Fenrir.

@@nothmm8582 - A quick Google search says that Surtalogi is the name of the bright sword of flame wielded by the Fire Jotunn Surtr. But when I check the wikipedia article on Surtr, nowhere is the name of his sword mentioned, only that it's bright and fiery.
Neither attribute do I associate with Dainslef.
However, in the *MARVEL* universe, Surtur wielded the Twilight Sword, which had another name: The Sword of Doom.
Dáinslief in Norse mythology was in fact the sword of King Högni, and it was forged by dwarves.
Hogni's daughter was kidnapped by a prince from another kingdom while he was away. When he went to search for her, he found her on an island where the prince was waiting with an army... and he offered peace to Hogni, along with a necklace on behalf of his own father.
However, Hogni had already drawn Dainslief, and Hogni said that the blade must kill a man once it is drawn.
So the two armies clashed. And at night when the two returned to their tents to rest, Hogni's daughter would stay on the battlefield to resurrect soldiers with song.
Resulting in an endless battle that went on and on until Ragnarok.

Vinster King (Dark King in Old High German)
    Dark can mean many things:
    - Abyss which is an obvious one
    - Evil
    - Broken
    - The Unknown
I'm leaning towards the Unknown... We know of King Irmin, Dragon King Nibelung, Primordial One becoming a King himself, but there is one place we don't know the king of... That's right.
The King of the Seelies aka the Elven King. We've read about the Prince meeting an Outlander and marrying them, but no King. Huh. Why? Hm... We'll see.

Khaenri’ah destroyed itself and then you have people like the sibling blaming the Heavenly Principles. Why was Caribert turned into a hilichurl? Because Khaenri’ah’s king and some of its important figures were way too ambitious and caused the cataclysm. Dain’s brother really must have manipulated the sibling quite well because he was partly to blame.

      @TheJH1015 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

Caribert was turned into a hilichurl because he was a descendant of someone that refused to worship their god after the Cataclysm (his mother was from Mondstadt), it's the curse described in the book Perinheri. Only the people that weren't Khaenri'ahn that left DURING the Archon War and thus had no Celestial Archon they were forced to acknowledge at the time weren't cursed, as well as the Khaenri'ahns themselves because they split off before the Archon War even started.

@@TheJH1015 And no matter how we look at it, this is a totally undeserved "punishment". So either there is some aspect of human nature in Teyvat that we don't know about (like with Fontainians), or whoever placed that curse is unreasonable.

    • @Traveller281
      @Traveller281 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@kotarouinugami1745 Another theory, it could also be that the existing order protects the people from the curse that somehow opposes human existence in Teyvat. The Primordial One lost full control of the world when fighting Nibelung for the second time. The world before was not suitable for humans, so it could be that elemental beings like the gods act kind of like a buffer between the people and the world that the dear PO can't fully control. This would make the curse more like a remnant of the original natural order that gods and Celestia, aka usurpers, hold back with their influence. Pureblooded Khaenri'ahns could have another way to survive, and within their nation others as well, but being driven out by the cataclysm, nothing protected the others anymore. Khaenri'ah existed for a long time alongside other nations without the Heavenly Principles trying to get rid of them or anything, after all, so would it make sense for them to have a " Khaenri'ah = all evil, must punish" mindset suddenly?

Maybe visions are ichor and humans are the golems. So like the people currently living on the island above Remuria "become" like the ichor golems whose memories they hosted. Visions are a contract with celestia to carry on the ideals of their predecessors.
During a ley like disorder on the island above Remuria, those memories got stronger. That's why vision holders get buffs from leyline disorders. Because ley lines are the crystalized memories of the collective consciousness. It's why ghosts/memories leak out in the place of origin every so often. They're trying to erode themselves, and then they turn into the black/purple goo.

Excellent video and you make a good case for either suspect although I agree that Irmin Is the more likely suspect. There is a chance though that this "Dark King" could have been a source for Irmin on the secrets of the Abyss and was pulling the strings behind the throne. Maybe this Dark King is still pulling the strings; maybe even secretly controlling the Abyss Sibling which could explain the inconsistency between Dain and her/him's perceptions on the Fall of Khaenriah.

I think that Hraptatir The Wise is not the same as Irmin simply because Dain mentions them separately, if that wasn't the case why would he say 6 of them should've stopped him instead of saying 5. Unless Dain is really bad at Math this doesn't make sense
As for why the siblings blame Dain it could be that during the cataclysm Dain had a choice to make which he made the wrong causing everything to fall

funnily enough, one of the Sinners, Rerir, is named after Odin's grandson in Norse-Germanic mythology. Which means there could've been some nepotism shenanigans going on.
and if we go further down the rabbit hole, Rerir is the ancestor of Sigurd aka Siegfried, who was in turn partly based on the Frankish king Sigebert I, who was Chlothar I's son and a brother or Caribert I.

..wow i just had a crack theory...
What if Dragon King Nibelang and the King Irmin were playing parts together?
King Nibelang died after the second war against the Primodial one, wreaking everything due to abyssal Corruption. If I'm not wrong it's the first time the Primodial one had to face such things. Yet despite it he still got defeated. He was killed, but there wasn't a mention of whether the elemental sovereigns died as well.. Apep was left alone as she sought more of the Abyss. Eventually she even stooped as low as to go hand in hand with the "God" she despises the most.
Though it was a bad idea for both of them, as Abyss cannot be controlled and instead can give someone an agonizing pain.
So what if Nibelang realised it too? He's a king of Dragon sovereigns, so yes, he too reincarnated! Apep States as so:
*"..By the time The Dragon King returned, the world was irrevocably changed"*
So what if the newly born nibelung and Irmin worked together? I think they originally planned to overthrow the Celestia and it's "order" yet he slowly understood that Abyss cannot be contained.. and that as Neuvillette's character story states, "He (nibelung) too realise that darkness can only be dispelled by all life band to together as one"
What I'm more focused on is, what if it was Nibelung who allowed the "Traveller" to break through the celestial Barrier created by Primodial one to keep any kind of interference from contacting within the world of Teyvat.
It's written on one of the early-game Name Card about how the "Heavens" allowed traveller sibling to enter the world.
There is no way the Sustainer of the heavenly principal wouldn't know if the Primodial one was the one who allowed them to enter.
Well at least that's my theory ..
Besides, Isn't Traveller's powers sync with the Dragon's abilities? (Though that's just assumptions and speculations at the least)
    What do you think?

    • @kotarouinugami1745
      @kotarouinugami1745 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Looking at Neuvillette, I would not be surprised if King Irmin and Dragon King Nibelung are the same person.
As for Heavens allowing the siblings to enter the world, it is very possible for that to be Sustainer's doing. Which is why she didn't want to allow them to leave. We don't know what she expects the twins to do, but so far, it seems to be working, and the twins' influence is improving Teyvat in a variety of ways.

      @Rue_Elpis777 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@kotarouinugami1745 sustainer is very territorial lmao.. even more than those dragons.. I doubt they would let another "possible" Descender approach its world that they created and nearly lost its life defending it...

@@Rue_Elpis777 If she was territorial, she would have kicked out the twins at the first opportunity. Instead, she prevented them from leaving. Which is quite strange even if we assume she did not felt any danger from facing them.

I notice some people managed to comment on a 10 minute video 2 minutes after it was posted. I assume this is because they entered someone's memories. Presumably this person was Dawit himself, and since the entire experience must have taken place while the passage of time was suspended, I am going to guess it was while he was waiting on a woman shopping for clothes.
But does the time when the five Sinners took on Abyssal energy, have to be around the time of the cataclysm, or could it have been a long time before? Because Khaenri'ah has been messing with Abyssal energy for thousands of years. Nobody ever complained before.
Also isn't Lumine the most grounded character in the game at this point? I bet she has one of those "you don't have to be crazy to work here, but it helps" signs in her office. She's obviously not under anyone's influence. And I don't have any impression that Vedrfolnir is co-operating with the Abyss Order (because the 2nd time Chlothar goes to see him he has already moved on). As such the person above Lumine in the organizational chart would have been Caribert (as hinted by Dainseif talking about how such titles are inherited).
Dainsleif: Well, I suspect that they call your (‍sister/brother‍) their (‍Princess/Prince‍) precisely because there is a succession of sorts.

I agree, Lumine seems to be quite sane. Especially compared to Abyss Lectors who are in full fanatic mode. Maybe it's her long life and experience of traveling thousands of worlds, which means she wasn't as affected by the destruction of Khaenri'ah as people who were born there and lived there all their lives.
As for Lumine's title, it seems to be because Clothar Alberich called her "Princess of Khaenri'ah". And if the founder calls her "Princess", everybody else would call her that too. Especially since most people in the Order seem to be survivors from Khaenri'ah.

We get told (hinted unsubtley) by Paimon in Dain's 2nd quest that maybe there's some one senior to the Sibling in the Abyss order. Then for the 3rd? 2nd? anniversary animation - the one with Sibling and Enjou scrap-booking, we're told they are making a report, but who is the report to? Who does the sibling report to? I took Dains comment to mean the superior would be Caribert but it's unclear from the 4.7 quest.
Caribert does say that the whole thing with tricking Dain was his own idea. But he also says that the Sibling hasn't decided what to do with the Loom yet, as if it's their decision. Of course the context is that Caribert is dying/dead and wasn't very old when alive. So he might have been a leader in title only. It doesn't feel like his final "death" changes anything in terms of leadership.
But how chummy do those bunch of whacky Abyss order dudes feel, eh? What a nice bunch of monsters seeking the deaths of all humanity - or whatever the first descriptions of the Abyss Order were.

Unless Lumine *really* looks down on the masses of Abyss Order and treats them all like children, and this is a report for their general assembly.
It does make sense for the Abyss Order to be less like Narcissenkreuz Ordo, and more like a MMORPG "guild". After all, the Abyss Order is the only social connection most of these people have. The other options are turning into a human and spying, or associating with barbaric uninitiated hilichurls.

Caribert seems pretty fan-boy-ish almost about meeting Traveler. it's a bit odd. And neither he nor the Sibling feel hostile towards Dain. From what Sibling says about Dain being reluctant to attack Sibling Dain isn't feeling hostile to Sibling either. it's not as cold as when you first meet Sibling and they say that Dainsleif is their enemy. But I'm not sure it's contradictory either. And then after defeating Dain Sibling lets him go free.
Dain for his part says he's against the 5 Sinners.... but Chlothar describes the Sibling in terms pretty similar to the 5 Dinners. (Sinners? Dinners??) Someone who is an expert that the people placed their faith in and things turned out bad. This is another strike against the "theory" that Sibling takes Traveler and does a runner when war breaks out. According to Dainsleif this is why he hates the 5 Sinners. They had the power to help but refused to do anything. As such shouldn't Dain hate the Sibling for the same reason if indeed the Sibling did do a runner as soon as the war started? I guess the Sibling returns to help out but then their main means of helping is leading the Abyss Order which Dain hates... so... would that mean they would be forgiven by Dain for running away?
And if all the Abyss Order is less useful in martial terms than one dude, Dainsleif, who is the weakest of the six anyway, and Sibling weaker still, and all the various Heralds and Lectors and so on worthless, then can it be assumed that none of the Sinners even to this day care to do anything to lift a finger for Khaneri'ah. Even the extent of Vedrfolnir's "help" is pathetic.

Considering the seven dragon sovereigns are more powerful than the archons and can affect the ley lines, does anyone besides me think that they're gonna become targets for the sinners and the abyss order?

i doubt any of the six were actually irmin. hrpotatyr was likely the sage piero couldnt live up to and led the king astray.
could it be that irmin found nibelung in the abyss at some point and the vinster king could be referring to him or both?
with very little to go off of it could be a dozen or so interpretations. i still doubt that dain is truly innocent.
(and yes, tis monday over here)

It's pretty much guaranteed that the Vinster King is just one of King Irmin's titles, given that in other translations, it's the phrase "The Black King" or "The Eclipse King" and that Vinster is German for "dark" but since you brought up Nibelung....
I'm actually starting to wonder if the Primordial One might actually have been *Nibelung* for a couple reasons.
1: The Primordial One hatched from an egg, possessed wings and a crown, and was androgynous. I think humans wouldn't know how to identify a dragon's gender.
2: In Genshin, the angels of the game are actually *dragons* and they are associated with the heavens, while numerous humanoid beings (the Archons) all have demon names.
3: Neuvilette refers to Nibelung as "The Heavenly Father"
4: Throughout the game, we hear about a being known only as The Heavenly Principles.
5: Humans, throughout Teyvat history, are constantly trying to rebel against *the heavens* and take control of their own world/fate.
6: The only beings that use the title "Usurper" so far... are other dragons. Neuvilette and Apep. The dragons clearly feel that Nibelung is the rightful ruler of Teyvat, even though it was basically created by the Primordial One.
I might be COMPLETELY off base, but it makes a lot of sense to me that a primordial *DRAGON* of light, coming from the *LIGHT* Realm, would wield such immense power (essentially the power to manipulate reality as a dragon of *LIGHT*) as to be able to conquer seven dragon sovereigns of lesser power. And then, after proving his might to said dragons, they would willingly submit to his rule in recognition of this power.
Remember: the original dendro dragon, Apep, is still around and alive and kicking. Strange for the Primordial One to allow the dragon sovereigns that were defeated to continue to live in the world....
And then, for whatever reason, they decided to make an entire new realm for a being they wanted to create: humans. Whatever the Primordial One is, it's never explained WHY they wanted to make humans - just that they wanted to. Just like the god of Christianity, the Primordial One basically created a paradise for humans to live in... until they committed the original sin and got cast out. Perhaps a sin such as... an outlander marrying a seelie in the lunar palace. Or perhaps that marriage was just part of a plot to allow humans to steal the power of dragons...
We also know that when Khaen'riah fell, Dainslef was spotted in Tunigi Hollow clutching some kind of special ring... which people believe to be the Ring of Nibelung. What if humans stole Nibelung's power to seize their own fate and finally escape being ruled by dragons?

I see your trying your hand at editing more. A fine follower of celestia entering into unkown domains and doing it better than most just like when the primodial one entered into teyvat beating the crack head dragons and and creating humans showing them that not only can they easily beat them but they can also run the world better. For through out existence and non existence the primodial one and its shining shades made humans interwined in existence for through out teyvat and the abyss they alone are the honoured one.
