That clunky noise isn’t from the bearings but from the driver side spring physically contacting the frame rail. You’re supposed to get a giant hammer and dent in the part of the frame where the spring touches when you turn the wheel to both extremes.
I have the same coil overs for the koni’s and had to remove them 4 times to dent in the frame enough to not make contact at both extreme L/R positions on the steering wheel. However after 5 months not driving and car settling they make contact again. I have the control arms that move the wheels forward 1.5” as well
hmmm, when I go back in there to put in the radial bearings I give the hammer another go. Maybe it wasn't enough.
Radial bearings are supposed to help with coil binding. I would've preferred to pay MM a couple hundred bucks to actually fix the problem instead of getting a shitty tool and taking a hammer to it to bandaid the situation.
Jorge Gonzalez yeah I wish they could but unless you go to a SLA when moving the wheels forward that much you can have contact due to the design limitations of the original design of the mustang

Hey man I just went through the same issue as you with my maximum Motorsports coilovers same noise and everything. I took my coilovers out and realized that there where some pretty bad scratches on the top hats on each coilover. I decided to re arrange the camber plate spacers I put 2 long and one short spacer on the coilover and one short on top of the camber plate and that fixed my issue.
Thanks for this comment which helped me. I just did my install, dremel ground the ridge in the driver side strut tower vice bending it, and used two large spacers. Whisper quiet.

You didn’t touch on anything for a ride height… How do you go about achieving a baseline and how does that translate to the actual threads on the spring adjustment coil over itself? I’m about to purchase a kit for my 2003 terminator all around Ciot it’s an honest curious question

Just save up, budget and prioritize. It's VERY easy to get carried away with these cars. Honestly just start with a catback, springs and wheels. Easiest and cheapest mods that give you the most bang for the money.

They're from Feal Suspension
Do you have a link to the radial bearings you went with from Feal? I have the MM coil overs ready to go on my Mach 1 but now I'm afraid to install and get that same noise you got.
I don't but if you google feal suspension and look through their website you'll be able to find it and verify the fitment on your application.
Did you install the radial bearings? I'm wondering if MM has since rectified the issue.

Mine Cobra is a 98
I just picked them up from FEAL suspension and I haven't gotten around to installing them due to a knee injury. They're just a bandaid till I save up to buy REAL coilovers from FEAL. MM could easily sell manufacture or source them but it doesn't seem too high on their priority list. I suppose you could drown the components they give you in grease but I want a clean setup, ya know?
Do you have a rear install video?
I do not. Still have eibachs on the rear. No plans of getting a matching rear coilovers kit.

Per Maximum Motorsports website the STR.T are "NOT suitable for a coil-over conversion"

Those struts weren't included on Maximum Motorsports list of compatible struts but neither were my Tokicos Blues. You'll have to try it out to find out.

How’s the ride with these add on coilover kit? I have Bc racing all around on my mustang and I’m taking them out can’t stand the ride the rears are way to bouncy, bc racing is a cheap Chinese brand I would stay away unless you going for a car show drop it to the ground look and don’t car about ride quality
Ride quality is definitely improved from BC coilovers but if I could do it over again I would skip MM and go with Feal Suspension. Read through the rest of the comments for the why and check out their website. It should be clear after that.

Hey Randy! I left the rear Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs. Ideally I would want lower but it was the most cost effective solution for the time being. I didn't get the rear kit because I wanted to feel out the front first. TBH, not a fan because of the noise. Plus, their rear kits only work for Konis and Blisteins shocks. I have Tokicos Blues... So $700 to invest into a subpar system. I'll pass. Later, down the road, I'm going to get coilovers from Feal Suspension 👍🏼
I haven’t heard of Feals until recently. I know of “Feels”, but that’s from the Honda world.
Should I go with Feals over Maximum Motorsports?
@@JayDauglash personally if I had the cash right now, I'd get the Feal Suspension coilovers. I don't like the sleeve setup from Maximum Motorsports. Check out Feal Suspension's TH-cam Channel, IG page or their website if you're on the fence. The difference in quality is obvious.

Just buy bc racing coilovers, or if you don’t wanna spend that much buy sr coilovers
Cobras have an IRS. Last time I checked, BC only makes coilovers for SRA Mustangs. I would assume SR is the same. MM, Kenny Brown, Feal Suspension, and KW are the only companies so know of who make them for Cobras.
