    Should of been a safety at the end. Once fumbled only the player that fumbled the ball can advance it. Ball should have been dead in the end zone when Auburn player touched it.

    • @ColumbiaB
      @ColumbiaB ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think that’s correct. Rule 7, Section 2, Article 2.a states, “When a . . . fumble is caught or recovered by any
      inbounds player, the ball continues in play.” (“2023 NCAA Football Rules and Interpretations.”) I’ve found no rule that prohibits advancing the ball after a fumble recovery in an ordinary scrimmage play.

  • @TaylorAdams12
    @TaylorAdams12 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    The Auburn player coming up behind the Bama player and pushing him is on par with the display of cowardice they put on all night. Shortly after Bama’s game-winning TD, an Auburn player waited for Jermaine Burton to run past him to punch him in the side of the head. Couldn’t face him like a man, so he needed to blindside him instead. Of course, there were at least 3 times that Auburn did things like that in this game, and they didn’t flagged once for it.
    Also, that was a safety. The lineman who picked up the fumble was down before he reached the ball out of the endzone. It wasn’t even particularly close. It’s even more odd because yes, the ref fell down, but this is literally the purpose of the pylon cam and again, it wasn’t even close. If Auburn had won on that final pass play instead of throwing the pick, it would have been directly due to the refs cheating and giving them another chance. Combine that with the 5+ times Auburn got to the receiver early on 3rd down plays and NEVER got called for DPI, the Jermaine Burton catch that wasn’t even close to being out of bounds but was called AND REVIEWED to be incomplete, the fact that Auburn got away with destroying Alabama’s punter like he was a ballcarrier and never touched the ball (should’ve been roughing the kicker and an automatic first down for Alabama, instead Auburn scored on the ensuing drive), the fact that Alabama got a TD taken away for holding but when Auburn held and scored on literally the EXACT SAME PLAY that Alabama had run they were allowed to keep their points, the illegal motion that was called offsides on Alabama somehow, etc. and it seems a whole lot like somebody was trying to make things easier for the CFP committee.

  • @tilmonhocutt8780
    @tilmonhocutt8780 ปีที่แล้ว +34

    And no matter how much Auburn tackled Alabama's receivers before the ball got there, pass interference somehow didn't get called all game...It is REALLY hard to beat Auburn at Auburn with their refs. And I still haven't heard a rational reason why the pic6 disappeared.

      Arnold’s right foot is unmistakably on the sideline, between the 3 and 4 yard marks, at 2:15 of the video. The officials saw this right away; the line judge was standing just a few yards away, and after Arnold reaches the end zone, that official did not signal touchdown, but instead pointed back upfield to where Arnold had stepped out.
      As for the snap, the center had the ball in motion while the clock was still at 0:01. So, Auburn did get the play started in time.

      Alabama 93 blocks the view of the football at the moment the Auburn 73's knee makes contact with the ground. So, it's not clear whether there was a safety. Moreover, it is not clear at what point the Auburn 73 lost control of the ball and fumbled it. To me, it looked like the fumble occurred after the ball hit the turf ... but without being able to see what was happening to the ball before then, who knows? It could have been coming loose before 73's knee touched the ground. In either case, the visual evidence is conclusive and the ruling on the field stands.

    • @arepadetrigo
      @arepadetrigo ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. He did step out, barely. The eagle-eyed line judge did a good job making the correct call. Of course, a couple of seconds before, he completely missed the fact that two Auburn players were lined up offsides with a foot across the line when the ball was snapped! Go back and check it out. They were rushing to get the play off and two players were standing over the line when they took off. Glad it didn't get called as it would have been a minor penalty for Auburn and given them another play. I guess Bama could have refused it. But very ironic that the ref sees the sideline out of bounds that happened in a split-second but couldn't see two Auburn players standing across the line of scrimmage.@@ColumbiaB

    • @ColumbiaB
      @ColumbiaB ปีที่แล้ว

      Auburn was lined up only a second or two before they snapped the ball. The line and side judges need to check several things before the snap, and it’s entirely plausible that, on the basis of their very brief glimpse of how the teams were lined up, they weren’t sure those ends’ feet were in the neutral zone before the ball was snapped. And if they were unsure, they might rationally have determined they shouldn’t throw a flag.
      I agree that from a review of the video - which, of course, I can pause and run frame-by-frame - it looks like each of the ends had a foot in the neutral zone. But we also need to bear in mind that things we see on the broadcast screen, like the blue line marking the line of scrimmage, are computer-generated images that exist solely for the interest and entertainment of the broadcast audience. They are certainly informative, but they have no official status, and do not govern the rulings of officials on the field.

      Arnold stepped out of bounds; his right foot is unmistakably on the sideline, between the 3 and 4 yard marks, at 2:15 of the video; it goes out when he makes a quick stab step to maintain his balance. The officials saw this right away; the line judge was standing just a few yards away, and after Arnold reaches the end zone, that official did not signal touchdown, but instead pointed back upfield to where Arnold had stepped out.

      Exactly
      If anything the refs helped Auburn,
      The one call that everyone is crying about honestly looked like a direct result of an illegal block in the back which inadvertently caused the facemask.

      You’re right that Auburn did get the play off in time. Reviewing that point frame-by-frame shows that when the center has started snapping the ball, the clock still reads 0:01.
