  • Harry William Clack was born in Croydon, South West London on the 11th November, 1923.
(add another picture of Harry Clack)
He had a brother Frederick Clack who was born in 1925.

Harry’s Parents were Harry and Winifred Clack and Harry’s Mother’s Maiden name was Blake.
Harry volunteered to Join the RAF at just 15 years old and started his training as an Engine Fitter on January 10th, 1939 at Halton in Buckinghamshire.
Harry’s training was accelerated due to the War being on.
Harry’s duties were essentially to recover enemy aircraft that had been shot down.
A Dornier 215 German aircraft, which was used for reconnaissance purposes, had been shot down on October 24th by defending fighters and the wreckage landed close to the Crown Inn Pub in Eaton Socon, which lies in the County of Cambridgeshire.
Now the first map shows where the County of Cambridgeshire sits in relation to the UK and the 2nd Map show where the Crown Inn Pub lies in relation to Eaton Socon itself.
Harry was part of a crew of 3 who were sent to recover the aircraft and whilst attempting to lift the Dornier 215 onto a Lorry to be taken away, the jib of the crane made contact with an overhead power line and Harry and a colleague were electrocuted and killed. The 3rd member of the Team survived.
Harry William Clack was An Aircraftsman with the RAF, he served in the Battle of Britain and was the youngest man to die in this Conflict and the RAF at just 16 years old.
Harry was given an award by the RAF, but very sadly never lived long enough to receive it

Very very well done Johno 👍 seems fitting for this video now seeing how it’s near the 83 anniversary of his passing… it’s funny this poor fellow could still be with us now, granted he’d be 99 years old but it would still be possible…
They gave up all their tomorrows for our today.
    Very well done video 👍

I think in any cemetery there are always graves that have not been put in order, therefore it could be that the grave will become the grave of the new deceased, greetings from the ghost😀
