My great grandfather Thomas Von Klugër serve as a Colonel in the German 9th army he was killed by the red army during thier last stand in the Battle of Berlin in May 1945. And I'm not ashamed to be his grandson i really admire the men who fought with honor and dignity in the German Wehrmacht.

The western allies literally had half a billion manpower in their tank, while Germany only had 40 million at most.

Yes he was an inspiration, he survived two world wars, he was part of the workers who built the Hindenburg zeppelin and he survived more than 3 years in a hole during Russian captivity and he even managed to come back home to Germany to my great-grandmother. He died in the age of 94 and all he always walked humbly throughout his entire life. It is a shame how Germans deal with its past nowadays.

I can not help it. Born as a German, i looked up to these men when i was a boy, a teenager and now as a grown men i still look up to them. Not to their political leaders with their twisted and inhuman ideology, but the brave fighters who sacrificed it all. From my family 5 men died and 3 survived the war as combatands. My family lost all its property in Glogau - east prussia, when they fled the russian soldateska. None of my ancestors saw their home ever again. I wish i could do something for their souls.

Interesting video. Thank you for uploading. My Grandfather fought for the Wehrmacht as infantry, he was captured along with the 6th army in Stalingrad. He was part of the 44th infantry division and saw action in Poland, France and first battle of Kharkov. He endured many years in different Russian work camps and lost around 80 pounds of body weight through his ordeal. His ultimate victory in the end was returning home to what was left of our family in Germany in the mid 1950s His younger brother survived through the whole war as a loader for the Jagdtiger in the 512th heavy tank destroyer battalion and surrendered to the Americans in May 1945.

My great grandfather was a ship of the line captain in the italian army, the highest rank on a war boat. He met rommel and helped the german troops reach egypt from greece. He died at the end of 1943 probably due to a british submarine, he never abandoned his ship while it was sinking, neither did his sailors and the german soldiers, they both helped to try and save the boat, only 10 on about 500 people on that boat left. Even if someone could argue about the ideologies of the army, nobody can argue the courage of both germans and italian soldiers, and i am proud of my people that fought till the end even with bad organization and died together🇮🇹❤🇩🇪

I wouldn't say they were the good guys, there is no good side in war. They were just like all the other soldiers of the war, human. They fought for their country and did what they were asked of.
In the end, the great german army fought hard not for their ideology but they fought hard for themselves and for their comrades who treat themselves as brothers-in-arms, and for their families. Salute and big respect to the wehrmacht, one of the most fearless and efficient army of all time.
I know I'm probably going to start a whole argument in my reply section but If the Germans screwed themselves over by invading the Soviets and the "They never would've gone that long anyway.", then explain to me how they got so close to Moscow to the point Stalin and his staff members were evacuated. I live in Germany and I can tell you that there will be more and more wake up One of our countries (Thuringia) was elected until there was a radical prime minister. In English the two ballots before that were simply canceled because it did not suit the government. The people in Germany notice to a large extent that this was undemocratic and that we live in a dictatorship of opinion. My grandfather also fought in World War II. russian prison camp was the end. my grandmother lived in the former eastern regions (Gdansk, Prussia). when the Russians marched in and drove us out, she fled to North Rhine-Westphalia (west Prussia). She joined the Social Democratic Party. When ex-chancellor willy brand then gave the home of x million Germans (also from her) to Poland as an excuse, she quit immediately.
Deutschland 1933-1945 was the true Germany, an empire so advanced it put other Allied countries to shame. In 2 years, Germany was able to get rid of poverty and not suffer any depression, when all other countries suffered under the old financial war profiteer system. America and England were scared that Germany would overtake them as world powers, and knew they had to bait Germany into WW2. Poland was the scapegoat. The truth is coming out but nobody wants to actually research it. People have been programmed to believe their bullshit history in school and feel "personally" threatened when you call them out on it. That's exactly how the system is built and how they want it. My great grandfather Thomas Von Klugër serve as a Colonel in the German 9th army he was killed by the red army during thier last stand in the Battle of Berlin in May 1945. And I'm not ashamed to be his grandson i really admire the men who fought with honor and dignity in the German Wehrmacht.

Hassel W The USSR had unlimited manpower and without the Murmansk shipments and all the western allied efforts in Italy, France and the bombing campaigns, the USSR wouldnt have stood a chance. The western allies literally had half a billion manpower in their tank, while Germany only had 40 million at most.

Besides those 200 to 10 division source is trash. You might want to give something more reliable. According to wikipedia, a total of 9 million Germans fought on the western front from 1944 to 1945. That doesn't include the Italian front and other occupied territories like the Balkans or Scandinavia.

Yes he was an inspiration, he survived two world wars, he was part of the workers who built the Hindenburg zeppelin and he survived more than 3 years in a hole during Russian captivity and he even managed to come back home to Germany to my great-grandmother. He died in the age of 94 and all he always walked humbly throughout his entire life. It is a shame how Germans deal with its past nowadays.

Unlike their brothers who died they returned to Germany and died of old age not too long ago. Very tough and great men.

I can not help it. Born as a German, i looked up to these men when i was a boy, a teenager and now as a grown men i still look up to them. Not to their political leaders with their twisted and inhuman ideology, but the brave fighters who sacrificed it all. From my family 5 men died and 3 survived the war as combatands. My family lost all its property in Glogau - east prussia, when they fled the russian soldateska. None of my ancestors saw their home ever again. I wish i could do something for their souls.

My Grandfather fought for the Wehrmacht as infantry, he was captured along with the 6th army in Stalingrad. He was part of the 44th infantry division and saw action in Poland, France and first battle of Kharkov.
He endured many years in different Russian work camps and lost around 80 pounds of body weight through his ordeal.
His ultimate victory in the end was returning home to what was left of our family in Germany in the mid 1950s
His younger brother survived through the whole war as a loader for the Jagdtiger in the 512th heavy tank destroyer battalion and surrendered to the Americans in May 1945.

My great grandfather was a ship of the line captain in the italian army, the highest rank on a war boat. He met rommel and helped the german troops reach egypt from greece. He died at the end of 1943 probably due to a british submarine, he never abandoned his ship while it was sinking, neither did his sailors and the german soldiers, they both helped to try and save the boat, only 10 on about 500 people on that boat left. Even if someone could argue about the ideologies of the army, nobody can argue the courage of both germans and italian soldiers, and i am proud of my people that fought till the end even with bad organization and died together🇮🇹❤🇩🇪
