Thanks so much! This was a great, straightforward and informative tutorial. Im new to TyFlow but a longtime Maya user. And I really appreciate that you explained “why” you were doing something, as you went along. It helps connect the dots!
This is such a professional tutorial! I love how you even mention your steps after 3ds Max + tyFlow for increasing saturation, etc. This really is the complete package! :)
Hi Jesse, great tutorial as always. I was looking for a dust animation (Volumetric Dust Particles) for an interior scene and there is nothing I could find for 3ds Max, only for some Blender users. It's basic maybe but just wanted to mention it. So, if you seek a new video subject :)
@@RedefineFX I thought you would say that it's easy :) I don't understand and use TyFlow that much and thought that I needed a tutorial. I'll try what you said. Thanks a lot 🙌
Hi Bro ! Thank you for the lesson ! The material is very accessible and high-quality. My question is: if you do the same thing until 04: 10, but then connect Phoenix FD (smoke or liquid) to the tyflow particles? how do I do this? can you do this version of the lesson ? it was very useful and interesting! thank You for your work! Best Regards Tom.
Thanks. Phoenix works well with tyFlow particles just have to enable Particle Interface in tyFlow. Setting up a basic smoke sim is covered on this channel.
@@RedefineFX Jesse, Thank you for your answer! But unfortunately I can't do it. I don't have enough TyFlow knowledge. My main knowledge is rendering, creating 3D landscapes and abstraction. Working with particles is new to me. PhoenixFD is clear to me(I use it for fog, smoke, clouds, + I learned a lot from Your lessons), TyFlow is still difficult for me. in PHXSource, I added TyFlow. In TyFlow I found only Particle Forge, in it I added Phoenix FD Fire. But apparently this is wrong, because in the end nothing happened :) I didn't find a lesson on Your channel - where Phoenix smoke joins TyFlow particles.
Thank you so much for this Tuts! You mentioned to keep the Scale and Units to same settings to gain same results. I did that - obviously - and My Circle seems to be as big as beeing build with Inch settings - 2,5 times bigger aprox. how can that be?
@@RedefineFX Well, sorry - I found that you left the the System Uit Scale in Inches - I was having Centimeter there... Hi Jesse, I absolutely love your work. I've been struggling with one task for a while and was hoping you could help me with it. I'm trying to create an animation of pouring a sachet of powder which then turns into a pill. Is this possible in Tyflow?
Thanks! Yeah so this would be tricky to do. Grains are doable but fine powder is hard. There are ways to break objects and have them re-assemble into a desired object, using custom properties. I have some tuts and there are others on youtube. I don't have an exact solution though

Hi - thanks for the tutorial. I'm finding that TyFlow gets too slow to use at around the point of editing the Spawn (calculating frames). My machine is a brand new dual xeon (56 core) with a 3090... so I'm guessing I am missing a setting here. Any ideas appreciated

I had Max in inches from another project. You can do whatever units you’d like. I’m just saying if people want the EXACT same result as what I got, their circle needs to be the same size as mine and they need to work in the same units. Otherwise I’ll get comments saying “I followed everything but it looks different”.
Hi Jesse , i am watching all your tutorials but i can't figure it out if might be a solution where winds with sand or snow interact with objects and create these natural shapes and I thought if may I ask you if you think its possible to do a dune solver like this video with tyflow? th-cam.com/video/3PXHpsQtdcU/w-d-xo.html. thank you
Hi Pier, that's a really cool sim. I think you can get pretty close to that result by using the desert preset inside tyflow's new terrain operators and animating the phase. As far as an actual simulation like that, I don't think so. Looks like the guy wrote his own solver just for that specific setup
Jesse it seems difficult to contact you. Your main redefinefx page with your lessons for sale doesn’t not seem to have a “contact” button. I ended up emailing your Jesse@xxx email from your personal page with a question - 3 days ago. Can you check at some point and get back to me please. Thanks. c
I think this is my only tutorial where I'm in inches, and it was by accident as the official tyFlow example files are in inches. It's because the developer is in the USA.
I've learned so much from your Tyflow tutorials, thanks for doing these!

Oh that’s pretty simple to make with tyflow. Birth volume, give them a blurred circle texture, some noise and slow operator to move them around.

You’re probably spawning a gazillion particles at once. Make sure you’re on frame 0 and connect the spawn operator to the next one before enabling it

you need to connect the spawn to something otherwise it keeps replicating in on itself. It needs to flow to the next event just like I do it.

how to end birth of particle on the end frame?
The birth operator defines the birth range
