These impromptu 'on the spot' videos are the best ones. It wasn't planned, you just decided to do it. It's the way a lot of us do things and I can personally relate so much to it. It's these personal type videos that so many love.
It's funny how I've spent essentially my entire childhood looking at Adam as an all powerful crafting god that can do no wrong. Now that I'm an adult with a pretty large amount of experience specifically in carpentry... It's funny to see the little scuffed things I would change in his method. Feels strange and satisfying to (in very few aspects) have caught up to a master of the craft.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE show a video of all the kitchen tricks and upgrades you created! Would love to see your problem solving ideas that you created. Also, can you explain a little something about the “Kurt” vise in the mill and why they are so good (and expensive- must be made out of gold or something inside it) Love the video!
16:51 I love how Adam is so giddy over this DeWalt router, and I'm just staring at the little bar he hammers into the table for a clamp with a cartoony looking mallet. I laughed my ass of when he smoothly went from doing careful, accurate work to just "WAM" with that mallet hahaha
That's how you set holdfasts. The bar has to bend for it to work. So to set it you hammer it down and to loosen it you hit the back of them. Spring action is what causes the bar to clamp. It gets wedged in the dog hole.
My favorite part of these videos is watching you quietly think thru a project what you are going to do and planning it in your head. Then you attack it. It’s nice seeing you work through everything on the way to where you are going.
as a cook/chef im always looking for new food related reading material. who knew such a great culinary suggestion in a video about drawer dividers. Your the best Adam!!!
Want a cool upgrade, put drawer glides on the tray and attach it to the inside of the drawer gliding backwards. Cut the same height of the tray out of the back of the drawer. The tray then slides back into the cabinet space and allows full access to the dividers below.
It’s incredible how as an outsider who has never been in that work shop, how happy one can be to see the kind of space there is now. So happy to see that 💪🏼💪🏼
A tip for dehydrating green herbs for powder is using the microwave. Just do a few seconds at a time and stir them around each time until they are fully dehydrated. Then I generally have used coffee grinders to make the powders making sure to sift. Not sure if you ever ate at Commonwealth in SF, another neighbor of yours, but that's where I learned this technique. We'd do it for parsley, tarragon, and marjoram..
I loved this. Just making home improvements is one of my favorite thing to do and enjoyed seeing your process. More home improvement videos would be fun to watch. 😊
I really like to see the workshop less cluttered and more organized… wonder if that will continue and would love to see the progress and how it effects workflow.
Wait, whatt!!!?? Not wearing jeans? Must be a Saturday. I am amazed by the crazy new space in the cave since the renovation. I am probably one of the few subscribers that never watched Mythbusters, but I was aware of it. Found a kindred spirit on TH-cam. I save/hord stuff in the eventual case I may need it later. I approach projects and work the same way. With lesser knowledge. I look for your videos everyday. Now I have two words for the artifacts you moved out of the cave- Tested Museum.
Always nice to see you building in your shop. My last build was the UCS AT AT, took me four days to finish. Keep making video's. Love from the Netherlands.
Watching and listening to you doing your working out in imperial reminds me so much of my dad. Here in the uk I'm of the generation that crossed over from Imperial to metric so I still tend to think in both. Dad would never have tolerated a nail gun though! Screws all the way!
I watched your drawer insertion with interest. I've done a similar method with some heavy drawers in the past and this caused jamming problems with the slides. I watched a cabinet shop do the drawer insertion. They always pushed the slides all the way into the cabinet then pushed the drawers into the slides. It seems harder to line up but it eliminated problems with jamming of the slides.
This is a amazing video full of ideas I just a few weeks ago dehydrated about 15quarts of homemade chicken broth to about 1 quart worth of powder not only as a broth on the go but a grate way to bump up mashed potatoes or other vegetables and looking forward to a kitchen tour I'm sure you and ur partner have some amazing organization ideas
Love the build. I have something very similar that I added to a few of my spice drawers and canning drawers with undersized trays. I however added magnets to the drawer back and tray to keep them from sliding when I didn’t want them to.
Great build, Adam. My favourite material for interior box-goods has to be Baltic Birch plywood. IMHO it's better for interior jobs than aircraft ply because it has a superior finish and the adhesives used are less aggressive on cutting bits. With the right tooling and setup it cuts, glues, and finishes like buddah! It's pricey. But then aircraft ply don't come cheap either. Either way, a fantastic job. And you only had to make it twice. I'd call that a win for a Saturday job for a very picky, albeit very highly valued, customer!
Fantastic timing! I've been putting off adding some separators to our spice drawer (no exciting powders yet) because they shift and shimmy around every time the drawer opens and closes and it is slowly driving me mad... so we need some separators to corral them.
My favorite bit of this is using the milling machine to make the handle slots where most woodworkers would use a drill press and a couple other tools. Cleanup of that with all the sawdust must really suck.
The handles were nice to see being made in the mill. When we make apple boxes I always have a hard time making the handles perfect with the router. So I've decided to just buy a mill lol
I never expected Adam to be talking about Courtney Burns! I've had the pleasure of interacting with her now that she's out here on the East Coast! Small world!
Love the new intro logo, half because for WHATEVER reason; the sound that played when the prior one came onto screen upset my dog so much he'd start barking every time and I've no idea why. 🤣 That aside watching you take pleasure in small projects like this just as much as larger ones is always a joy to see and watch.
Would love to see your system for kitchen organisation. I transitioned from being a Chef to manufacturing and installations, and "Mise en Place" is a kitchen philosophy that translates incredibly well.
Inmmm soooooooo EXCITED!!!!! for a new video it could be paint drying.... I'm in On another note how weird I'm also in my shop making drawers for my dresser
Now I can't wait to see the kitchen video. And I need to look into those nifty powders, I just got my dehydrator back from my parents, who borrowed it to make venison jerky.
I think one of the things that surprised me most with powdered food was tomato. For certain dishes that let things stick but don't soak in liquids as well, it imparts so much more tomato flavor than just tomato slices or sauce. Doesn't preserve very well, though. Or if it does, I don't know how to do it. That's the main reason I don't have it in the house now. For most things I will use powdered herbs and spices rather than fresh, which I know is one of those things people have strong opinions on, but I like the flavor control it gives me and it blends into sauces and coatings so well.
They also make cordless trim and pin nailers now in the 21st century. How a tool guy like Adam has these areas of unawareness and then uses a knee mill to cut hand holds in wood... he is the textbook definition of eccentric. This is why I come here.
Can I just say I love the fact that Adam just dropped a Black Eyed Peas bar on us and I love the fact that Adam likes music from the 2000s. I don't so much love the fact that at 2am CT, I'm youtubing the song because the damn thing is now stuck in my head, and yeah, it's copywritten music, but still!
I’ve had this idea for a while after years watching how you setup your shop! I wanted to streamline bathroom storage to bring consistency to vitamins, floss, skin care, etc. Can’t wait to watch this!
Hey Adam, I'm glad you like that Dewalt router. But if you have a chance to test out the Milwaukee circles trim router. I think you'll be pretty happy with it! Anyhow thanks for another great video! Take care.
I was hoping you would hear me tell you that the divider was going to be too short for any jars to fit into:) Would LOVE to see a kitchen video...and the puppy included.
Well the problem werent the jars, but rather the tray resting on the jars instead of on the divider. Tbh I would even go as far as to sugges that the outer edges of the divider could be high (to support the tray) while keeping the dividing planks lower, to make it easier to grab the jars -without hitting dividers with your fingers)
I for one would be very keen to hear your thoughts and theories on kitchens Adam. Me and Mrs have a smaller kitchen - but are in the fortunate position of being able to widen it out a little (hopefully later this year). Even then, it will not be “big” by any means. It presently includes a typical “man drawer” - where everything Mrs doesn’t know “what it is” goes to die - and a cupboard labelled “everything else” which causes a small landslide whenever you open it. Input on Good Ideas would be appreciated!
I have that same Dewalt cordless trim router. It IS amazing! But it eats battery power up like you won’t believe… so invest in some bigger batteries for it.
These impromptu 'on the spot' videos are the best ones. It wasn't planned, you just decided to do it. It's the way a lot of us do things and I can personally relate so much to it. It's these personal type videos that so many love.
As much as I love both the renovated "store" space in the cave and Adam's excitement for it, I'm happy to see a video in the workshop side again.
You’ll get what youre given now eat your broccoli

@@1pcfredthis is precisely why I came to the comments. Thank you 😅
@@ashleyemma6894 SAME! I'm like wtf is that?! lol
It's his favorite whacker, he usually has a name for it, but i forget what it was, but yeah it looks cartoonishly satisfying to see him use it.
It really does look like it would just come out of his pocket like something from Tom and Jerry.
I really appreciate you filming the end result in your private home!! Lovely build
Dividers actually have such a huge life improvement factor its insane.
Want a cool upgrade, put drawer glides on the tray and attach it to the inside of the drawer gliding backwards. Cut the same height of the tray out of the back of the drawer. The tray then slides back into the cabinet space and allows full access to the dividers below.

2024 - year of the infrastructure builds on most maker channels. I really enjoy watching these practical builds.
9:30 - wowwww, look at all the SPACE! so exciting!
Usually Adam's videos make me want to build something, this one just made me hungry.
i love when we get this type of video that gives us an insight into Adams real life

These dividers turned out really cool, also: Good call on making them thinner and taller. That tray? Beautiful
I loved this. Just making home improvements is one of my favorite thing to do and enjoyed seeing your process. More home improvement videos would be fun to watch. 😊
Ohhh I can't wait for the kitchen org video!
Kitchen tour for sure!
White pants and a v-neck shirt. Truly a Saturday vibe.
I really like to see the workshop less cluttered and more organized… wonder if that will continue and would love to see the progress and how it effects workflow.
That tile in the kitchen gives me ideas for a renovation I'm currently doing. Soft earth tones look so nice against the wood cabinets.
So glad for a new one day build!
The Bar Tartine book is incredible!

Look at all that space! The shop looks great, @Adam!

It's cathartic watching you work with wood, as I attempted to achieve the same, prior to my stroke... TY Adam✌️
Algorithmic comment that you earned by being the only TH-camr to not beg for them. Love the channel and not being begged for LC&S!
Right On! 🙌 Shop organization and kitchen organization are hand in hand! Love it!
I also recently got the Dewalt XR router over Christmas, and it's just the best.
Love the build. I have something very similar that I added to a few of my spice drawers and canning drawers with undersized trays. I however added magnets to the drawer back and tray to keep them from sliding when I didn’t want them to.
Amazing how many good books that are suggested on this channel
It's a low-key book club.
Thank you for producing content that’s very comforting and makes me feel like I’ve got someone in the room with me.
Thank you. You are quite the cabinet maker ,very talented man .Keep on making great entertainment and video's they are great

Great project Adam. Thumbs up.
I love this : cooking experimenting is science that tastes good. I am happy that your partner is experimenting and having delicious fun!
My favorite bit of this is using the milling machine to make the handle slots where most woodworkers would use a drill press and a couple other tools. Cleanup of that with all the sawdust must really suck.
The editing at the end with the thumbs up, and the sound effect was brilliant

Well done! Very satisfying to see the application
I'm not a gourmet cook but I would love a butler's pantry. Love your cabinetry, Adam.
It's such a joy to watch you potter about ❤ and you remind me so much of my dad too!
16:20 why does you smacking that.. clamp(?) With the mallet make me laugh so much??
I never expected Adam to be talking about Courtney Burns! I've had the pleasure of interacting with her now that she's out here on the East Coast! Small world!

dude, you gave me an idea for my cabinet although it's a vertical cabinet but thank you.
Great video! Love what we got to see of your kitchen Adam!
Kitchen setup FTW!
Love my little Dewalt router. So handy.
His skill set is just amazing 🙂
Would love to see your system for kitchen organisation. I transitioned from being a Chef to manufacturing and installations, and "Mise en Place" is a kitchen philosophy that translates incredibly well.
the "fwing" synching with the thumbs up 😌
Inmmm soooooooo EXCITED!!!!! for a new video it could be paint drying.... I'm in

i love how much of a tangent adam can off to
I love that wooden hammer.
Now I can't wait to see the kitchen video. And I need to look into those nifty powders, I just got my dehydrator back from my parents, who borrowed it to make venison jerky.
I’m normally quite at home too, love it.
Watching this video while enjoying lunch (Coke and a Slice). So enjoyable. Thanks Adam and team.
Nice!
If I ever get out of renting and have my own place again I want to build my own kitchen 😊

I’ve always suspected Adam is worthy of Mjolnir! 🔨

Great stuff. Fav parts are when Adam smashed something with the giant mallet!
Outtro ... " Cup Of T " ! 😅😂😂😅
I’ve had this idea for a while after years watching how you setup your shop! I wanted to streamline bathroom storage to bring consistency to vitamins, floss, skin care, etc. Can’t wait to watch this!
Kia Ora & Good Morning from Caribbean Drive, Unsworth Heights, North Shore, Auckland, New Zealand ...Another Great Video Bro.
The edit on this is great. I like the audio choices
Great video Adam .
It's like you know exactly the help I need, exactly when I need it 😂
Cannot wait to see Adam's kitchen! Imagine all the ideas/inspiration I'll get for my own kitchen
Adam that continuity edit at 6:13 was on par with the film 1917
Great job. Thank you 😊
Hey Adam, I'm glad you like that Dewalt router. But if you have a chance to test out the Milwaukee circles trim router. I think you'll be pretty happy with it! Anyhow thanks for another great video! Take care.
Have you looked at the gridfinity system? I don’t think it would have worked well for this scenario but I can picture you liking it for other places.
I can’t wait to see your kitchen
"Sorry about that" ?
Nah ... you're not, because you know we love that kind of thing. :D
I feel a v-neck is the most San Fran thing ever 😅
As always, love the video
I bet you would love the tiny Bosch 12V router!
Loving the new cleaner look to the shop. Me thinks that the custodianship of the ILM shelving has been a seachange.
First video without blue jeans?😅
I want to see that video on the kitchen, lm keen to sort ours out. Love the content

Beautiful workmanship. Measure twice cut once my dad always said. Can Brother sponsor Mr savage with a label maker please😂
Get a freeze dryer! The powders taste so much better with minimal oxidation. I'm exited about the kitchen tour!
Thank you for sharing.
Love the wapper!
1" painters tape for jar labeling? love it!
Cracked up at Adam suggesting he might be a little bit nuts... Yeah knew that from watching Mythbusters... 😂 😂

0:00 First I thought it said "Draner Dmpers" LMAO
I myself have scrungly handwriting and I feel represented here! XD
Will you also be moving the sheet and tube material on the wall behind your table saw somewhere else?
At 11:30, if you're just looking for the middle, you don't need math. Just angle your tape until you're on a whole number instead of a fraction 👌
10/10 would watch a quarantine kitchen style cooking show with Adam and Mrs. Don't Try This.
Although white pants in the shop. Oof I don't envy whomever does his laundry.
Do I see a new Dewalt Planner ?
Did you get it with the Helical conversion. Even it not I would love to hear your take on it.
I have that same Dewalt cordless trim router. It IS amazing! But it eats battery power up like you won’t believe… so invest in some bigger batteries for it.
