Errm no.. John lennon is saying, imagine no life with religion.. as well imagine no war or hell, because those things are tied to religion..almost every war as been caused by it, the concept of 'hell' is used to control ppl... imagine a life free from the evil constraints of religion n the negative effects it has on us.. because a life without it.. believe it or not leads to peace, freedom and happiness n the world would be a better place n John knew that. N it was banned after9/11 bcoz it had lyrics that are suggestive to peace and anti war... and by know we all know the real reasons they wanted to go to war.
Hard to believe songs by The Who, RHCP, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, and even David Bowie were banned. I knew Queen's "I Want to Break Free" music video was banned by MTV because of the band being dressed up in drag, but I didn't know Queen were basing it on a British Soap Opera. Clearly, the reference went over MTV's heads.
jaxon singing 'i can't get no satisfaction' in the tune of pink floyd's another brick in the wall made me giggle also, as an australian i didn't realised lovegame was banned! it was on my so fresh cd
The video clip was also on the companion DVD. We had that DVD on repeat at work on the demo TV's so I never knew it was banned either. I guess they just mean it was banned from commercial (TV/Radio) play?
I did not know the title and a little bit of the lyrics were changed for Brown-Eyed Girl. It's a great song from who I think is a very underrated artist.
Funny thing about Killing in the Name, most people just sing "F*** you I won't do what you tell me" and kinda forget that for the majority of the song that chorus really is "Now you do what they told you". Forgetting that part is losing the meaning of the song.
3:44 OMG... Sabrina read my mind! Only I knew it wasn't that song, but I was thinking of the song where The Phantom sings... "Down once more to the dungeon of my black despair!"
Jair and Jaxon and Sabrina nice seeing you guys again. Sabrina was on FIRE today and Jair is a closet Mental head and the Nick and her have such great chemistry together.
can I just say that the BBC seems to be extremely sensitive any time these videos state bans it's almost always the BBC that's responsible for the bans
Baby It's Cold Outside controversy is so stupid. It completely ignores the context of when it was written, who it was written by (husband and wife I believe). The woman in that song is literally taking control of her own sexuality. It's flirting. Good lord.
when nick goes and slams the table saying "hot diggity" i said hot diggty dog from mickey mouse i have no idea how that came to my mind as soon as nick said that
There was a "clean" version of Baby It's Cold Outside in the xmas movie Love Hard. One character says she hates the song because of the message, then she ends up doing a duet, so the guy changes the lyrics to make it better.
The way I saw the "Brown Eyed Girl" controversy was the "makin' love" lyric, just extended...the full line is: "Making love in the green grass Behind the stadium with you" ...thereby insinuating sexual activity of high school students on school property (which, in 1967, was fairly scandalous as well).
Nick the true winner and legend, always a vibe. Plus, also the homophone for "Come" together.... right now, over me! just makes it sound that more dirty lol
Unpopular opinion maybe, but I find it hypocritical AF that they've banned so many songs of the past for 'suggestive' lyrics yet see nothing wrong with artists blatantly referring to 'ho's' and praising promiscuity these days. Society has become so two-faced that it's no wonder there are so many problems facing us daily.
What about “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” by Bachman-Turner Overdrive? Randy Bachman originally created the song partly as rib to his brother, Gary, who was leaving the band as their manager and used to stutter. The record label could find a sure-fire hit on the album they were working on. Randy let them hear the song he gave Gary, then tried to re-record without the stutter, but found the song lost its energy and sounded flat and the label insisted on the original version. “Stuttering” has really become a singing technique, in some cases, to help fill in “space”.
OK so a Lady Gaga song that has vaguely veiled hints and what may or may not be her sexuality but the same people are ok with a song by a different artist making very clear references to W.A.P. (translate at your own risk) which if I were to translate I'd probably get banned for a T.O.S. violation...sure that makes sense
Fun Fact: In 2000, my graduating class voted "Under the Bridge" as our class song in a total landslide, but one of the rich kids who wanted the second place song pointed out to their parents what the song was about and we lost it.
My brother had a similar thing when leaving primary school (UK equivalent of elementary school); one kid wanted Turn Down For What but the teacher rejected it on the grounds of being "too urban". Yeah, that's not aged well, and it was only like 2015-16.
“Baby It’s Cold Outside” does NOT condone assault and lack of consent! ‘Hey, what’s in this drink?’ was a common joke back then referring behaving out of the norm and was not literal. The whole song is the woman bringing up reasons why society and family wouldn’t approve of her staying and the man giving her excuses to stay. The girl wants to stay but is saying she should leave because it’s what’s expected of her.
Banning songs just prove how two-faced people can be, as those concerned are probably more perverted than anything in the song. It's hilarious how they try to ban swear words or suggestive lyrics as kids in the playground are more foul-mouthed.
Imagine is what I like to call a thinking-man's song. John Lennon made his listeners think with that song. It's basically a "what if" scenario. Imagine all these what if's he mentions in the song didn't exist. What would life and what would we as a people be like if those didn't exist. It's honestly a fascinating song when you think about it that way.
Round 6: Imagine ban a song well fitted after that moment and this moment when you doesn't need some criteria to live in peace "Imagine all the people, Livin' life in peace"
@@tonygoodwin08 a man presenting a woman with the reasons she should CHOOSE to stay is hardly assault. Conversely a woman telling a man to brutalize her, so she can say she was assaulted at a later time is empowerment I guess. Right?
I’m pleased to have guessed “My Generation” by the Who before any of the reactors. Would’ve had “Satisfaction”, too, but I was stuck with knowing The Rolling Stones but not figuring out the song.
One of my favorite things was a comedian reading the Lyrics of Baby it's Cold Outside and compairing it to the Popular song on the Radio/charts at the time WAP
8:00 vice did a pretty awesome behind the music type thing on their TH-cam page about teenage dirtbag.. No the line was not about columbine. It was about his life way before columbine happened. Producers wanted him to actually take the line out and he refused, he said no way will he change his story and his life experiences.. but they did compromise and record a clean version for the radio. @React
When I was like 7 years old, I had the Little Richard cover of that song on a cassette mixtape. I was today years old when I learned Little Richard wasn't the original artist 😂
@@christianboehlefeld5168 well we mean the same thing... He's doing Satisfaction but to the melody of Another brick in the Wall.... That's what im trying to say, but i shouæd have said...hes using the melody of Pink Floyd but with Stones song lyrics... It made sense when I wrote it. Jaxon humming... would have worked.
The line in Demi's song was actually changed to "I still eat at Ronald's" which makes a lot more sense because Ronald McDonald, I never understood the change since it clearly pointed to the same restaurant haha

16:55 I love how Jair and Nick were both dirty-minded, but said 2 different things. Lol.
Jaxon is serving in that denim jacket! Also, his natural hair!!
Makes him look korean in grunge phase imo
it's not his natural hair, he actually permed his hair to make curly/wavy
happ y
Serving what?
I was gonna say Jaxon permed his hair!!!
the chemistry between Nick and Jair is so unmatched, they seem like absolute best friends
So 90% of everything that has ever actually been banned was banned over the sensibilities of people who now complain about how sensitive everyone is.
Jack... John Legend.... That's the wrong John! 🤣🤣 I like that Sabrina took pity on him and gave him the answer!
Nick also said John Legend
"they could not handle the feeling they had when they looked at freddie mercury in drag" GIRL HAVE YOU SEEN ROGER TAYLOR IN THAT MUSIC VIDEO?
ALL OF THEM ATE ‼️🗣️
Everyone is always playing these games and Jack is always just there for the ride lol

I love the duo Nick and Jair so much, it's been too long!!! I need more of them together
Jaxon singing the lyrics of Satisfaction to the tune of Another Brick in the Wall tickled a part of my brain that now wants to hear a full mash-up

Jack was made fun of for guessing John Legend 'Imagine' but to me it sounds like Nick said John Legend as well.
I'm impressed by how deep in the musical archives you went to find these songs. More old stuff than usual.
I need Jaxon to do a cover of Creep 😂 His remix was amazing!
I can’t believe the Devinyls- I Touch myself wasn’t on this list.
Jack's "John Legend" moment was hilarious

Sabrina dominates these challenges!!
Killing In The Name was Christmas number 1 in the UK charts in 2012 and stayed there for 3 weeks. 😂
That was an orchestrated campaign.
Teenage Dirtbag was released on June 20, 2000. The Columbine Massacre happened April 20, 1999. Not the anniversary date.

I’m surprised you didn’t include "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People! Very catchy but super creepy when you listen to the lyrics!
Nick knows his stuff. Dude is awesome.
Jaxon is giving life of the party, who wouldn't want to hang out with him?

1:23 TIL theres an MTV Arabia. How anything gets played there is a miracle!
Petition for Jaxon to release music!!!
Jaxon I think you would appreciate Rage Against the Machine. Give them a solid try some time.
I could have sworn he was into them when played in one of the nu metal videos

This video summed up:
Be religious, or be silenced. A shepherd without his sheep is just an idiot with a stick.
It's ACTUALLY "i still eat at ronalds" not bridals.. 😒 so it makes sense 22:24
Have they heard what the Black Eyed Peas song "Let's Get it Started" was originally called?
I was singing that song this morning. 🤣
22:21 actually Demi sings "at Ronalds" instead of "at McDonalds", referrencing to Ronald McDonald 😊
On the album she does say McDonald’s. It’s only in the music video that it’s changed.
