Him teaching celebrities like Corbin Bleu or even Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir is awe inspiring. The number of times Criss was taken by ambulance for his magic far out numbers David Blane, meaning he is way more experienced than David in the realism of what he is doing. The levitation above the Luxor, that light produces more heat than a plastic box can handle. Putting a glass holder puts the panels on the hotel at risk of damage as well. One last thing about Criss, long before he had a camera crew and he became famous, he started out levitating his mother, balancing her on the tip of a broom handle as a teenager. His family provided the photos for his show Mindfreak season 1.
Yes! Exactly, it's the realism behind Criss' illusions that has always been fascinating to me. And his mom was always so proud of his passion and work he put into his craft. He also had segments on his show where he taught how to do novice magic tricks, like the disappearing salt shakers beneath the table.

I wish adults weren't so mean towards the teens' reactions. There's a reason they're reacting to these videos - they weren't around and didn't get to experience them 'as they happened' like we did! Anywho, I'm stoked that this is a reaction episode for the younger reacters. I always thought Criss' showmanship was superior to David's, and both of them pushed their minds/bodies to the limit; and of course, Criss is in his own element with everything he put his body through over the years. I'd be REALLY interested to see the teens react to Criss' body hook stunt. It's not magic, it's not an illusion - it's literally taking his body to the brink of destruction (I wish that was putting it midly lol). These kids seem to be confused about what a magic trick is... 😂 These are two different types of artists... David is more of endurance/performance art, and Criss is an old-fashioned magician. Most of the stuff you see David doing is real, and most of the stuff you see Criss doing is staged. The giant needle through the arm - David really did that. Criss levitating is a trick.
