Deeply saddened to hear that the once unstoppable force that was Margarita Pracatan has finally stopped. An absolute legend and a true one of a kind, the memories you gave us will last forever Margarita. ..... And forever,..... 'PRACATAN' xxx
From Birmingham England I watched Clive James when I was a kid with my mom dad and bro loved the show he had a very cool accent and was interesting I'm 45 now much respect to you Clive God rest your sole deepest sympathy to your family and friends and fans.
As described recently by Kathy Lette (Australian-British author) Clive was regarded as having a "Black belt in Tongue Foo". His mastery of Deadpan broadcasting has yet to be equalled and may never be surpassed. Thank You for the 90's Clive!
I've just read the BBC news story of Clive's sad passing and the article mentioned Margarita and I burst out laughing as I had forgotten about her. I watched Clive many many times and oh boy was he funny? A sad day indeed and a great loss. My thoughts to his family and friends.
How I miss Clive James and Margarita .... it's about time the BBC reprise this formula - gentle humour and topical insight ..... hmmm although this interview is pure fun
I couldn't get to see her at Manchester Pride last night cos I got there too late so had to make do with this instead. Which is fine because my cheeks are aching from laughing. I adore her!!!
Before she appeared in person, Clive interviewed Margarita Pracatan via a satellite link. One of his questions was, "Tell us, Margarita, how did you come up with your unique style of entertainment?" Margarita later toured Australia. I didn't go to her concert, but saw an appearance on a show called Hey Hey, It's Saturday. (a bit like Noel's House Party). There was a contest during one segment. The consolation prize was being serenaded by Margarita Pracatan. What was Stuart Finer talking about? My guess is that he could have been selling something, like a 'pay per view' airing of football games. Why else would he have become so enthusiastic and animated?
So bad and yet soooo cool. And always happy and up, up, up... I am glad she always has such a good time and people obviously ADORE her... Always full of beans.
