For real bro this is the MOST annoying thing. That pull back hook/elbow counter is WAY TOO OP. On UFC 3 and 4 it never happened to me and now EVERYONE uses it .
Honestly, clinch spamming should be much more punishing. A dude literally just spammed clinched me to a win. It's irritating because I try to counter, but I always end up stunned. I wish the old system came back, it was a lot better than the spam esque one now. I know it's a boxing game, but FNC is a good example of clinch spamming working against you. The more you spam it in a round, the more you drain your own stamina.

One thing that’s always bothered me about these games, is how easy it is escape back mount. In a real fight, when you give up your back it is so hard to regain it against a top level grappler, but in the games, there doesn’t seem to be much reward for gaining back mount, as they can just roll back to full mount immediately. If I put in the work to get your back, you shouldn’t be able to escape so damn easily, I’m not saying make back mount op, but don’t make it so easy to escape
100% that moving forward slip needs to be slowed down. Does crazy damage and it’s nearly impossible to time, ruins the striking aspect ngl. Just doesn’t look fluid at all same for the head movement. The sooner these things get fixed the better the game gonna be
The forward slip hook is the most busted striking mechanic in the game. As Pry has just shown, you can throw a jab or straight from out of range and your opponent can slip forward and land the hook which will also count as a counter hit which further increases the damage. Grappling is incredibly broken. Spamming takedowns costs basically no stamina and actually drains the defender more. Once you have an opponent on the ground all you have to do is deny one transition, go for a sub and they're cooked 9/10 times due to the stamina difference. Let us fake escapes from both transitions and give high-level bjj guys counter submissions and unique escapes that must be denied by pressing RT+UP or DOWN.
I feel like the clinch system needs work. Right out the clinch you can get caught with a quick elbow, and the grappling needs to improve on reversing a reversal. The roundhouse the strait is broken, and certain moves and combinations are OP
I played alot of EA games for years like madden ,fifa etc…all there games share the same components,literally tho 😂same gameplay with slight tweaks every year .It’s pointless pry talking abt changes for the game that aint happening.The real solution for the UFC franchise is just parting ways from EA. EA as a whole is just a terrible game developer company .UFC just happens to be apart of it now sadly.
For real. A "new" game gets released and spends a majority of it's life cycle being patched toward where the previous game left off and was actually kind of close to making the player base content. Then the next "new" game comes out and it repeats. NBA2K does this as well.
We essentially bought ufc 5 in alpha stages at full price they just copy and pasted 4 now they are releasing patch updates and new fighters into what was ufc 4 and then when they announce ufc 6 we will nearly have a a fully updated and finished ufc 5 this is rinse and repeat on every single EA franchise title also ea games have never been simulators they are arcade nonsense for children they are making these games for teens with no experience not adults in mind they don’t care about the mma fan base they want the kids that will buy all the cosmetics to get that dopamine fix to appear ahead of everyone in online gaming this is the state of all around online gaming
The UFC arm trapping mechanic was awesome. Also the fact that the bottom player gets such an easy way out against the postured up player really makes no sense at all
I’d love if they made stats matter more, like make different cardio l levels, and footwork levels, and what not feel different. I get all these guys are top level but man it would be cool if 4.5 and 5 actually felt different, let alone 4 and 5 stars. Also make power differences matter, Holloway should be able to throw ten point combos, McGregor should not. In exchange McGregor should hit a lot harder than Holloway. Right now picking fighters who are faster but less powerful feels pointless, cause the power punchers can also match your volume and speed while hitting harder. I’d also love if fighters felt like themselves, so many fighters lack the “flaws” that make them them. Make fighters have idle movement animations where they shift there weight and what not, make some fighters overthrow shots they really overthrow. Gaethje overthrows some shots, and alongside his power he should overthrow some. Make Whittaker shift his weight and have moments he’s more grounded and then bounces when you start moving rather than always. Just little things to add actual fighter personalities.
On top of your comments about making grapplers stronger in grappling with higher stamina drain it would also give more reason to choose “MMA” all around style fighters. Your Whittakers, and GSP, and what not who are good everywhere while not being the best anywhere. You take them and your not as fucked against a grappler etc. Also make the stats matter, make cardio matter, hand speed matter, footwork matter (I don’t know why people can track me as Whittaker with far lower footwork scores to a T). Just make the stats more influential to fighters. Furthermore I think making taller fighters slightly slower would be an improvement, 5 star hand speed should be faster on a shorter fighter than a taller one due to distance covered to hit a target. Maybe it’s just me but seeing constant max height CAF’s and people constantly picking the tallest fuckers against me gets boring as there is no diversity in who I play against.
They had good head movements, slip strike counter damage, and parrying counters in UFC 2. Why didnt they just expand on that? They even have perks that help you get that 1 punch KO. Why didnt they keep the ragdoll knockouts and tweak it down? Cmon EA😅 yall are a multi billion dollar company and youre doing bare bones, making games all about adding DLCs and promoting gambling on top of pay walls.
I keep giving this game and devs time to fix it and every time I think it’ll be fun/good I’m disappointed I’m glad they finally nerfed phony spinning strikes for most part but the Power Single leg ruins the game

with the ping being over 80-100 PNG on average I think you're smoking a pack by recommending they keep sped up takedowns and allow stamina drained for Botton person for being on the bottom. It should be less punishing on bottom, and you. claiming counters need more damage is crazy, people already just fish for counters and don't attack at all.

The connection is based on Availability Zones of their Cloud service provider. Not Peer-to-peer network connection.

I still got conors going 40/90 for 2-3 rounds and having the same cardio as my 100 cardio max
I'm still having guys go 2/30 takedowns having more stamina then me when I'm doin nothing but defending takedowns
played a marlon vera user dude threw 150 strikes and to my 90 with sean and still had more stamina than me 😹😹
