This is definitely a song that you need to listen to this song so many more times, great reaction. BTW when you get to the song "in the fire" in the album I would recommend listening to it audio first then watching the live performance at the brits 2022. The audio is better in terms of hearing the bars and beat but the live performance has more emotion and has a choir as well, you can do them both in one video.

making a video after an event like this shows how dedicated you are! I absolutely love your reactions and I wanted to share some context to the song and video, Verdansk was the call of duty battle royal map at the times, you fight all against all in teams and the one who wins gets picked up by a helicopter so thats the main storyline, him growing up in a world where its eat or get eaten, in the part where you had to put up new lyrics, I think he wants to show his struggle to build back his family after they have been confronted with violence from the government, so he gets the picture and takes something back that has been stolen
A thing I just realised, the end is literally the album cover, him alone on the ocean trying to survive and do good, alone like everybody else is on their boat going through the sea of life, we are all alone in this together, dave is just another level
mhmmm but on the cover are two people, that could have many interpretations

I didn't like this song that much at first when the album dropped. But then came the video which helped with the concept. Then I watched a reaction from someone that new more about the game than myself. Then I understood more of the references, and it sounds great on a high end sound system. And just now you mention how he's possibly saying "this is not a game for us. It's our real lives"...That adds a new layer for me 2 years removed from hearing it the 1st time!
