Youre a natural rider..the horse took the bit so easily for you(which means his back wasnt dipped an feeling any strain)..brilliant..the horse loved jumping!!!really good to see some proper horsemanship!!!
Do you know what? It's great to see a great pairing actually doing something worthwhile, not rearing and plunging and bucking on purpose, but a tricky, talented horse with a good rider working as a partnership. You're awesome, keep it up!
He defonatly does jump like a beast! And theres quite a few hate comments trying to pass as helpful, it looked like a lot of fun and i think lots of people would struggle to sit some of his jumps! Well done, keep riding him, Q looked really happy to be jumping with you! xxx
I love your horse! He/She is beautiful! I don't know how advanced of a rider you are or how green your horse is, but I would suggest counting when you ride. It will make your jumps a lot smoother and you'll know when to encourage with your leg and when he/she is going to take off. Just a suggestion! Good job! Keep up the good work!
! Okay, for everybody putting their unwanted hate on this fantastic natural rider, just give up now. How dare you be so rude to such a kind, amazing girl! So called 'advice' about going with the horse, Lauren may have gotten left behind a few times, but hats off to her for trying to jump him! He is a dressage horse, he was being jumped once in a lifetime for some fun! He was enjoying himself, as was his rider and owner! He has not jumped on a regular basis, he is a dressage horse! Please leave Lauren alone! Xx :)
Agree with you :) I bought a Dr. Cook's bitless bridle, and my horse simply didn't liked it. He's a 14yo, and never in my life saw him bucking til I used the bitless bridle and even started refusing. He actually used to do a gesture with his mouth asking for a bit. Some horses feel better with a bit than without and people should start to accept every opinion, horses are like people, they are all different and isn't good to criticize someone just because doesn't ride exactly like you.
Such an amazing horse. He would be a great eventing animal. You can see how well he does at dressage and the presence he has. He seemed to really like jumping and could easily do well in the jump ring. You did great with him especially since you had never ridden him before :)
Loving the song! Didn't expect it when I clicked on it, one of my favorite bands and horseback riding! That is a gorgeous horse, by the way! Very smooth.
Amazing ride! I can tell he has a really big jump and its easy to get left behind, but you do an amazing job! I once had a horse like that and I know how hard it can be to follow through, so good job XOXO
Q seems like a really willing horse! and I dont see anything wrong in riding bitless.... for people who say anything against it then you might as well not right stirrupless or reignless... I think its a good practice for both the horse and rider... It wont hurt. Heck when we did reinless and stirrupless riding in classes it all helps so for those who say its not good... think ya better take another look... its perfectly fine. great video! :)
I'm with you, MrMintyk That's why most Western have rowels on them -- Nice little rounded rolling ones. Yes I ride with spurs, but I either simply press in with them, or even better -- roll the rowels on his side. No force necessary, they're just "punctuation" not "screaming"! I've never once needed to "KICK" with spurs (and if I did, I would end up in the next county -- my boy is a fine BIG Mustang). (And btw, whips, crops, quirts -- can be JUST as nasty in the wrong hands...)
There is a trick to stop then leaping over the jumps. You put two poles at either side, and slowly move them into the middle, jumping them each time. Once they are in the middle, the jump will be rounder and less springy. On the whole, your horse is very good though, nice clean jumps and you are in the right position. Awesome work!
Very nice video. I liked how you said sorry in the video for pulling on his mouth..he seems to be a very forgiving horse and you seem to be a very good rider :)
Q looks like an amazing horse! i dont know how old he is but i believe he could jump even higher with the proper training!!! And it looks like you are doing a mighty fine job!!
also the amount of pressure used by the spurs are aids to tell the horse what to do. Used correctly, they are is an extension of you heel to give clearer and more precise q's to your horse
You're catching him in the face. I understand that a horse can be difficult (Mine is very difficult) but her eq over fence has room for improvement. Try to shove your hands in his mane at the base of the fence. This isn't hate, its to help you and his discomfort. You are a fantastic rider and I can see how well you and him work together. A very good pair. He is adorable and his knees are perfect. Keep up the good work :)
THAT WAS AWESOME!!! i am training my young 5 yr old to count his strides before he takes off for the jump he can jump up to 4 ft w/ out me on him but he can jump 3'3 with me on him but he still is trying to understand when to take off lol... your horse is beautiful and your eq is amazing :)
wow, people can be so brutal. every rider and horse is at a different level fighting through different weaknesses to be their best. i think it takes an immense amount of courage to share that
Wonderful horse, I, like many others, would suggest building up some more core strength to keep you steady in the saddle and out of Q's way. Also a release up the crest of his neck until he touches the ground so you dont yank on his mouth. He has a fantastic jump, let him do his job.
I agree with Lauren Gorai. A few times you looked great and kept up with him, but a few times you were way behind the motion and caught him in the mouth. Your horse can jump a big fence and I hope that with practice you & him can go on to bigger heights. Also, eyes up no matter what! :) Great horse!! AND you are a great rider. :)
Awesome riding! Good for you staying on, he looks like quite the crazy! He def likes to hike up his back legs before a small jump! Don't listen to any of those who put you down because you are great! And handling well. Maybe more release and hackmore might help him, but I`ve only been riding English since last September (2013) and just showing this year. So I`m no pro, I just know my coach nags me on release with the big tank I worked with for a bit, mind u tho he was half blind! But moose was tall and a tank and I also had the same problems with posture as you! SO high five deary!
he has an absolutely GORGEOUS trot. and maybe she got left behind but she's trying to get him more used to jumping and i've done that with a young mare and it's not easy. so i say good job!! he looked great so far!!
agreed, but Eventers tend not to release much to keep them collected and compressed... for better impulsion for the jumps... and their 2-point is also very up right as well... Just all part of eventing! the could ripe us hunter/jumpers apart as well...
I freaking love your horses strides! And how he over jumps the cross poles are adorable ! ugh I love your horse! and me personally I love this song.
He has some of the best gaits I've seen on a horse. Gorgeous rhythmic canter, perfect for jumping. So jealous.
Haley Beebe he used to be a dressage horse

I love this video because the horse is enjoying itself so much! Makes me happy to watch it :) gorgeous horse too :)

That horse is a VERY nice jumper!! A nice, up and forward canter, head held up but not stretched out, and a nice clean jump!!!
Keep posting videos about Q I love him so much! I want a horse like that!
I watched your video while listening David Bowie's Wild s the Wind in the background and it moved me to tears. Love your horse.
Haha cute horse! He looks great jumping and seems to enjoy it! Great job.

your horse is honestly the greatest living thing alive! i would die to this horse! wow you guys look great together!
that horse is a beast! i love him/her!!!!! and you make a great jumping pair!!!
Love how he treats a pole on the ground followed by a tiny jump as if its a 3 foot combination :') awesome horse
Q officially jumps the mess out of everything! XD LOOOOOOOOOOOVE that trot...so pretty. Long, low, and relaxed.
He goes round the course of jumps so well! Just shows how important good flatwork basics are :)
Haha, you continue to make me more and more jealous of your talented horse! Such a lovely animal and great job with him:)

I like that you put in when you were winding down at the end on a loose rein - just goes to show he was calm and happy :)
Loving the song! Didn't expect it when I clicked on it, one of my favorite bands and horseback riding! That is a gorgeous horse, by the way! Very smooth.
