Loving this walkthough of Collide 4. This module is so on my wish list for next year! Great work dude on the demo!

I'd like to correct one thing mentioned in the video. I got feedback from Joran after he watched it. He pointed out the filter gain/vca can indeed add gain as I show in the video. But it can also attenuate if you send in a negative voltage (with a max of -20dB). I missed this as it didn’t occur to test with negative voltages! I think this is a logical implementation. Thanks to Joranalogue for this extra info!

Excellent demo / overview. Can't wait to get hold of this module. Sounds amazing.

It does sound amazing and it's great fun to play with it in person. You'll love it!

I'm glad someone did a thorough deep dive on day one. Nice freaking job.

Thanks! It's been a busy few days and short nights to get it done but a comment like this makes it all worthwhile!

Nicely done, very detailed overview with excellent visual elements. Really cool patches, too, I’m also a big fan of Orbit 3. Thank you🖖

Thanks man! After making it, I realised I could've done so much more (frequency shifter, lpf, ...) but the video would've been hours long then 🤣

I like how you simplified the blue guide to explain this mad scientist module.
I suggest using autoducking on your voice in order to lower the sound of the synth while you talk so we can hear your voice more easily.
Thanks for making this module easier to understand

Glad you like it! I was overwhelmed when I saw the "blueprint" the first time as well, that's when I thought about simplifying it.
About ducking. When the patch is playing and I do the hands over modular, I use ducking. That's because the volume of the patch then goes up so you can hear what I'm doing. But during the block diagrams, I decided to lower the volume generally without ducking to have it play in the background. I'll try a little extra ducking next time and see if it helps for those sections as well.

I am now using ducking as well as lower volume while I'm explaining the patch, as you can see in my Dionisi video (th-cam.com/video/kwrlwkvpCxk/w-d-xo.html). What do you think?

Great demo! Also what is the visualizer to the right called?

It's the Vaski Lights. Very useful little thing at 2hp and quite an eyecatcher as you noticed!

Does it actually do EXPonential FM thru zero? I thought that was just for linear FM.

You are right. Joran corrected me after I published the video.

Right. 0 doesn't exist in exponential. One linear is arithmetic, exponential is math.

What is the frequency range of the oscillator? And why isn't it specified on the site?

    • @APE-performance-electronics
      @APE-performance-electronics  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hi! According to the manual: "In the audio frequency mode, with the fine knob centred and symmetry at maximum, the coarse knob has a range of 22 Hz to 22 kHz. The fine knob’s range is 5 % of the coarse knob (6 semitones in audio mode).
In low frequency mode, the total range is 2.8 mHz (a period of 6 minutes) to 180 Hz, with 1 Hz when both knobs are centred."

@@APE-performance-electronics Thank You ! So this can be quit the Ring modulator, and frequency Shifter. Analogue or is DSP involved?

@@MYGAS21 As the manufacturer's name @joranalogue suggests, it's fully analogue!

Meh. The Tom ms22 is fucking unbelievable though.
