TLJ wasn’t an outright awful film, by itself it’s a pretty good. But unfortunately it missed enough potential to actively frustrate the audience and unsatisfyingly continue the story. I’m actually more mad at Disney than Rian or JJ for the sequel trilogy since it clearly relied more on nostalgia and old ideas than new ideas that would’ve actually continued the story as a whole. If Rian can thoroughly and satisfyingly (and even subvertantly) make his own cohesive trilogy I’d love to see it though!
