The recipe 2 table spons barley flour (or barley grains ) if using grains use coffee grinder for 30 seconds until grinned fine Saucepan 1 cup whole milk while still cold add two table spoons barley and mix it up Place saucepan on heat, keep mixing at the time so it doesnt stick, until it thickens about 3- 4min then it's done And some honey (local honey) Can add a little cinnamon Ready to eat ❤
Finally, a good video of talbina according to sunnah that i have been searching for a long time. All the ones i find are so complicated. Jazak'Allah for posting brother.
I poured a tall glass of milk, I soaked 8 sliced up bits of dates ( Madina dates)..I let it soak for hours..then I used the sweetened milk (use a strainer) to cook the grounded up barley...I used a rubber spatula (from Dollar Tree) because it allows you to scrape the bottom of the pot and not harm the pot with scratches..plus it scrapes all of the mix that is on the sides better and when its time to transfer to a bowl a rubber spatula leaves none of the barley mix behind in the pot..thanks for letting me share! Alhamdulillah for everything...
MashaAllaah, I am so happy to hear that barley cooked in way was a favourite of our prophet PBUH. I have chosen barley as one of the best complex carbohydrates to remedy and restore the gut biome and thereby treating all sorts of health conditions. The solution I found almost identical to the above recipe for making a breakfast cereal is as follow: Cook 2 cups of barley with its husk (for ruff age) until soft like rice, store in fridge for future use. To serve place 2-3 tablespoons full into a blender, add milk to cover and honey to sweeten. Blend to required smoothness and pour in a porridge bowl, heat for 30 seconds in microwave oven (you can sprinkle with some sunflower and pumpkin seeds) This I find is the best breakfast to sustain you for 5-6 hours before you feel hungry! Jazakallah gairan
Great but don’t use the blender. Keep the barley in tact and let your digestive system do the blending. Make it work so you can train it break down foods. It increases its residence time in the digestive tract which keeps you satiated for a longer time.
I made this yesterday (estimated measurements) using goats milk as I am lactose intolerant and it was delicious. Its great to see the proper way of doing it. MashaAllah! Jazak Allah Khairan.
Jazakallahukhairan for posting this. Alhamdulillah simple recipe. One advice to people is to not boil the honey with milk and barley. You can add it later when the Talbina cools down a bit. I have read that boiling honey can change its chemistry making it harmful.
SubhanAllah!! I'd never heard of this before and, yes, it sounds very similar to oatmeal gruel. Oatmeal gruel, in fact, is said to be very beneficial for the human body and dates back thousands of years. So now, i'll have to try making At-Talbina since no one other than Rasulullah (saw) himself recommended it! I appreciate the share.
Assalamalaikum due to hurry and laziness in internet revolution, we dont pay much attention to english rules. but atleast we should be cautious about Islamic principles. So please write, Allah - not allah Qur'an - not quran Muhammed - not muhammed peace be upon him/SallAllahu alaihi wa sallam - not pbuh/saws Allah Subhanahuwa Ta'Ala- not swt Its not about sin and haram but about respect towards our Rabb!
Masha Allah Tabarak Allah. Thank you Br. Bijras. I remember you came to our mosque at JMIC New Jersey and it was an honor to see and listen to you. Jazak AllahuKhaira Waa Katheera
Alhumdullillah 👍 I am told Gibrael alai Salaam brought the Talbina recipe to our Prophet peace be upon him, when he was sad and grieving. Ripe dates are also added to Talbina, a blessed healthy dish made of barley grains, milk and khajoor.
Yep, dates for the win! I haven't eaten this before, but my target has been acquired. Ever since I went to a local shop in the Eastern province of Saudi to have breakfast, which was barley, dates, qishtah...well other things too, there are different types. It was delightful.. but I was leaving Saudi at that time...it's not something you forget though 😄
As-salāmu `Alaykum Sh. Yaser Birjas, Good video, but audio needs work. Recommend using a wireless clip mic or some other setup to increase volume and clarity.
I prefer to keep my barley flakes whole for a better texture and I cook my Talbeena with dates too! Dates add a natural sweetness but if you would like it sweeter add more dates or garnish with good quality honey. I love oats in the morning and barely is very similar and more healthier
Thank you so much for the recipes, i have made this, and it really helping me, but i have a question, some persons cook the four during 15/18 mn , in your video you cook the flour during 5 mn.... is the flour is cooking enought in only 5 mn ? . thank you so much
