- 2018年，70後女生金杜在廣州近郊找到了一棟700㎡的毛胚房，花400萬改造，作為20年以後，自己和6個好姐妹一起住的房子，實現閨蜜共同養老的願望。鄉村廚房、懸空玻璃屋、以及巨型榻榻米……到處都是適合7個女生共同生活的美好空間。金杜說：“別人只是隨便說說，但我們真的做到了。”
In 2018, Jin Du, a post-70 found a 700-m2 rough cast house in suburban Guangzhou and spent 4 million renovating it into a place for her retired life with her 6 girlfriends. Rural kitchen, hanging glass room and huge tatami... there’re plenty of things for girls to live together. “People just say it casually. And we make it happen.”

Forget about the house, this is a story about great friendship and bondings.
I read about their story and was touched... I am so dam proud of these women.... the house and land are beautiful. but most importantly the friendship. the togetherness. the bond. the trust. the maturity. the civility. the lack of selfishness, stinginess, jealousy. the peace of mind, etc. its touching to see this. We American's lost all that sht a long time ago. love thy neighbor n all that bullsht. we couldn't do this even if we tried. heck many American families couldn't do it either. they hate, filled with jealousy, covet others, fake, surface feelings, nothing deep. so seeing this story, reminds me of how close people used to be here, back in the day when they cared enuf about each other. Nowadays, many can't even trust they own mothers. cuz that beotch would get a light bill in they grandkids name. lol. or try to sell the got dam house when no one is looking. white/black. Or bring their druggie hubby in da house. or crack head son fresh outta jail needs to move in and starts tearing up sht and stealin. lol I find it refreshing to see that human nature that God provided still exists out there. Thank you for this story... it's beautiful.

This house is gorgeous. I love this. I love that living in a beautiful house is not limited to a family unit and must have a husband and wife and kids to be able to have this dream come true. This is beautiful because of the energy. It would be my dream to have girlfriends like this too. Even if my marriage to a manipulative husband will end and even if im not interested to invest my time in another relationship, i dont need to close door to my dream of living with girlfriends in one house like a warm family. Family to me means we re there for each other, there will be friction, but no toxicity. Support each other.

Huh, this is really nice. I love the bond we’re shown between the girls. It gives me an idea of what my own friends and I could do. We’ve also been talking about living together since young, and this isn’t a bad idea of what to go for when you’re older and retired. Beats having to wait for family members to visit in a retirement home. ❤️
It's the country side, so it should be cheaper and there's 7 of them forking out the money. Well, maybe they are also well off. It's nice to have such close friends.
@kagokadae, they paid 4 Million Yuan for this place to be completely renovated. That is not much for a vacation/retirement home. Especially for 7 people.
I assume they will sell their current places when retiring, so it will be a plus for them.

Not immediately obvious but there are husbands and children in the video. The dining table is designed to include them. Living in a group at retirement in a compound with a hub is an idea often spoken about - especially in the boomer generation. These women did design a beautiful house. ~ from USA
They are building this for their retirement days, so when they're old and their children are all grow up they can live together in that house. (Usually the children who become adult rarely want to take care of their parents especially if they're busy working)
Now they're still quite young so they house probably empty on most days or just being used as a vacation house.
If they build and buy it now it can be called investment for their old days as well
im thinking if they living together with husbands then after sometime maybe there will be affairs going on in between them ! 😜

I hope one day I can live in a situation like this. That's really the retiree dream. Live out your years with your girlfriends in a beautiful house in a rural area. This video made me really happy.

I have seen Chinese tourists in Thailand walk in the restaurant in different time then one of them start talking to other tourists.After few conversations they asked the waitress to put the table together to make a big dinner table.What I get from that was relationship can happen anywhere.They were talking like they are from the same family!!! 剛剛跟閨蜜住了一晚玻璃房 $1,300 , 現在已經$1900 。 地點真的是at the middle of nowhere 不過真的田園味十足 而且十分安靜。 那稻田真的其實就小小一塊 給拍拍照。 竹搭出來的小橋走起來感覺不太安全。 房間倒是不錯 很時尚舒適 空調很足 比想像中小 不過一晚算不錯了。 最棒的是看日出🌅 那叫一個美呀！ 早餐其實不錯吃 可是以那個價格不太出彩 難過的是雖然好喝豆漿也只給了半杯。 那個閨蜜的故事真的就marketing而已，敗筆是工作人員一點笑容都沒有 態度又一般， 我覺得只值$1000一晚。 晚上去了附近的農家菜 豐衣竹食 火燒原隻竹筒煮菜超好吃！現叫現做 。

This is such a great idea! Why not retired with some of the most important people in your life? Enjoying each others company and always someone there in case of an emergency.
Many of us can barely find one good friend, but there are those that are blessed with many. We seem to have lost a lot in translation to English, but it looks like the women were at least 40? Or at least 35? Meaning they hadn't found love yet so decided to commune with other like-minded women. I love that.
Yes, a lot of things could go south with this. But assuming that nothing does, what a wonderful way to live, for both the friends and the kids growing up in that environment. Found family is the best!

Did they say they paid 1 million yen for it? That would be about 27K pounds if I remember correctly!! That's impossible unless it was a very long time ago.
It's in chinese yuan, so 1 million is about 120k or so?
