      The vocal track on this video is 100% done in the studio. That's not the way that mic sounds, or the way the voice would come out with his head moving around and drum sticks flying by. Here it is actually done live. th-cam.com/video/DVwNl0qRzZM/w-d-xo.html

    Wikipedia - "What I Like About You" is a song by American rock band the Romantics. Written by band members Wally Palmar, Mike Skill and Jimmy Marinos in 1979, the song is included on the band's self-titled debut album (1980), and was also released as a single in late 1979. Marinos, the band's drummer, is the lead vocalist on the song. The band filmed a music video for the song that appeared frequently on MTV during the early 1980s.

  • @johnnyvlee

    The rhythm playing on this song - especially the intro - is freaking fantastic. It's one thing to be able to mimic it but these guys came up with this. The picking approach and choice of chord voicings creates SO MUCH energy. I've seen a lot of cover bands do pale imitations, but never seen anyone but the Romantics do justice to this song.
    I've seen them live in a big venue and I've seen them on a day they'd probably like to forget at FSU campus - for me it was awesome to see them up close and personal but it was clear that this gig was not set up to do them justice.

      My grandma loved this song at 93 she would get up and dance
      She asked me who dose this song and told her it was the
      Romantics. We played it at her wake, I know she was up their dancing we all pictured her kicking up her feet and smiling and clamping her hands together in joyfullness, this song is PURE ROCK & ROLL, precise,
      harmony, soulful, a master piece

    • @davebryan8416
      @davebryan8416 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    • @johnnyvlee
      @johnnyvlee 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@davebryan8416 I'm sure you know this, but your best bet is to loop the intro and play it at 1/2 speed (or less?) over and over until you cannot get it wrong (i.e. until you're so sick of it you never want to hear it again! LOL!). Then start doing it at a slightly faster speed. Rinse/repeat until full speed.
