They all have lead parts in different songs. The “guy with the mustache” is Chuck Negron. I was madly in love with him as a kid. I finally got to see them in 1980 and they were amazing. Thanks for bringing back good memories.
7 member band with 3 lead singers, each take lead depending on the song. Corey Wells in all black lead on this song was from Buffalo NY, Chuck Negron in gold top ( with mousetache) is from NY City, Danny Hutton in light blue is from Ireland. Danny is the only original singer left in the group. He's still touring. CHECK OUT Eli's Coming, you get a glimpse into each voice.
In 1983 I saw them live in the back room of a bar in El Paso. it held 750, but there were 1500 packed in. We were all singing with them and they fed off the energy. They have three leads, the one in the striped shirt was part of the First Edition. Try their last "Hit" It's A Jungle Out There.
3 Dog Night always had some great and memorable tunes in their catalog! I REALLY miss those polyester/nylon long sleeve shirts with the graphics printed right into the fabric! They looked great and were nice and cool even in the summer.🥰 Great stuff.. thanks Travis and Suzie!😄👍👍
TDN was one of the biggest bands in the world from about ‘69 to ‘78, with dozens of hits and world tours. They were a staple of radio & TV… 3 lead vocalists was a unique aspect, and also that they didn’t actually write any of their 24 top 40 songs. They found good songs that hadn’t made it, put their spin on them, and made them golden!
That whole 1975 Soundstage concert was 🔥. If you watch Family of man or Eli's coming at Soundstage, all 3 sing individual leads. So talented. They are inducted to THE VOCAL HALL OF FAME!
OMG you must remember Chuck (moustache)❤ lead vocals on Joy to the World, One, Easy to be Hard, Pieces of April, etc. great octave range!! All had lead vocals! ❤😍 Such diverse catalogue of songs!! Listening since late '60's!! 🥰🔥🥰
Love Three dog Night that was from my generation. Y'all should listen to Mama told Me not to come. I really wish you would listen to Jeff Healey see the light. Night music 88 you will not be disappointed
Wow! This takes me back to high school in the mid seventies. These guys were all over the radio back then. Talk about things that get lost over time, I had the exact same hair style as Cory Wells, the lead singer here, in my senior yearbook picture in the summer of '75. They all take turns singing lead. Cory does the most, Chuck Negron, the guy "in" the mustache, sings lead on "Joy to the World", and "Just an Old Fashioned Love Song" and Danny Hutton sings lead on "The Show Must Go On" that I remember. Plus, the harmonies.
I know you both reacted to Try a Little Tenderness were Cory Welles took lead, and I believe also when Chuck Negron took lead on Easy to be Hard. Great song, 3 great singers, Danny Hutton to yr left. Very successful group 68 maybe to 75. I dig yr reactions yr both complimentary and respectful Keep up the good work
@@barnowl. That's odd I'm listening to music since 1958 and must know 100,000 songs and I rarely use Google to find the artist. It must be the love I have for great music, no monetary gain. The issue I have with some doing reactions is it for money or love of music.
Corey Wells was the primary on this song. Chuck Negron of the guy with the mustache and Danny Hutton is the guy with the perm. They switched out lead singer duties depending on the song.

Love watching y'all. I know y'all have reacted to a John Cougar Mellencamp music video. There os one of his songs called "Melting Pot" from The Whatever We Wanted album, it is a thumper, amazing song. If y'all get a chance to listen to it, I am sure that y'all will enjoy it.

The greatest cover band in the history of America. All of their covers IMO were at least as good and most were better than the originals. Try their covers of "One", "Easy To Be Hard", "Eli's Comin' ", and of course their biggest hit "Joy To The World".
By the way - all 3 are lead vocalists depending on the song. Multi-talented band!
@@wilcox660 true they alternate but Danny got less lead
The band can swap multiple Instruments and sing as well... except the shy garth Hudson 😊
Hot tip; Always watch 3 Dog Night LIVE!!!

They disbanded in '76. Chuck Negron was busted for coke in '75.
Great music you hear and you listen to the music you know your listening to greatness
Cory Wells was the gritty blues/R & B wailer; Danny Hutton the swaggering baritone; and Chuck Negron the high tenor.
I love 3DN, they are fantastic! Thanks for finding them!
All 3 guys are lead singers ❤
All three are lead singers taking turns on different songs 👍
Same performance . . . "Old Fashioned Love Song" . . . . . you won't regret!
Gotta like the early 70s vibe. Simply Groovy.
Far Out, 😊
They all sing, the guy with the mustache (😊) usually sings lead the most. And now Danny does all the singing.
The real goods!
They could have been Hall of Fame material if they had written their own music.
one of the outstanding bands of the 70's......still listen to them today....
As said previously all 3-lead vocalist on different songs. All great singers!
Just fucking massive. Shambala is heaven.
one of my favorites. thanks for the reaction.

Eli's Coming from the same show is fire. Saw 3 Dog Night with Steppenwolf opening. Great show
My first concert in the fall of 1970
This is a psalm and saying thanks for giving us a chance to climb a bit higher or never needing to climb again.
Check out those great varied drum fills in the chorus, guy with mustache Chuck Negron, lead in this song Cory Wells, other singer Danny Hutton

The lead singer in the middle was wearing a leisure suit. My elementary school required boys at graduation in the mid-1970’s to wear one.
Great driving song.

unfortunately three dog night is a very underrated band. they were very talented.
This is the set they did the live version of "Eli's Coming" which is a must see!
At the same performance, the opening song "Eli's Coming" was even more impressive.

This couple churns out so many mechanical reactions to songs that they wouldn't have a clue of the details of what they've heard before.

They are like CSN but they don't play instruments. And TDN has a better groove.
