I appreciate your honesty in your vlogs. I agree that wedding “marathon” sets are challenging especially with the eclectic mix of people that weddings typically bring.
Missed you dude, RIP to grandpa sorry for your loss. Love your vids please keep uploading. I live my DJ dreams vicariously through you so please keep going.
Marathon weddings are basically how things are done in my area. I started offering what I call "East Coast Style format" Because it was the requested of me by a couple from the NY. and I gotta tell you the crowds love it. It gets them up and dancing earlier instead of waiting through all the speeches and eating a big meal, and in some cases more waiting because they decided to do cake cutting and special dances after dinner. Not sure why we do the marathon style because this way is a much better experience for the guest. Great Gig Log Barr.
Bro as as someone just entering the world of wedding DJ, you are absolutely inspirational. #goals. Thank you for endless content of real advice. You are my unknowing best mentor in this field. Thank you so much
First and foremost, my deepest condolences to you and your family on your loss. Secondly, happy to see you back DJ Barr! As always, you delivered. Awesome gig. Keep doing what you do. Some Southern Cali love.
Nice DJ Set-Up, good lighting and special effects. I liked your music selection 💿 especially the Reggaeton Mix. Also you have excellent MC skills to hype up the crowd. -DJ Ricky Rick 😎🎧
Hey Barr sorry for you're GPops . I remember when you reply to me . When I share my mom pass and I watch all ur logs in 2 days .. that was last year I almost stop doing dj you inspired me to keep doing it ..but what more inspiration is knowing my mom is my guardian angel.. I know you're grandpa will always be with you cheering for u .. we miss you bro I became barrcoholic. Barrnation 4life carnal
Very nice job, my friend. Now that you have wireless movers, you should consider placing a pair of totems out on the far side of the dancefloor, between the guests and the dance area. That would allow you to spotlight the couple from the front.
Awesome gig log bro! Never realized how much you actually had! Kept the party rocking!! 2 things... 1. ALWAYS wear gloves when dealing with dry ice. It will burn your hands. 2. I worked with that photographer on the wedding I did upstate! Shout out Tom Schelling!
Missed you on the Logs bro, but life happens. Sorry to hear about your grandpa though. Keep hanging in there man. I appreciate your dedication. I know we all do. Keep doing your thing 💪🏾🎵
i think thats how alot of us get started by friends and family having events where have certain expectations. Sometimes gig not always go how planned (anxiety or stress) at the end of the day as you mention if the party had a good time then you did your job and more gigs.
Well done with that event. My condolences to you and your family. I've enjoyed all your vlogs and you've helped many so keep it up as long as you can if you keep enjoying doing it. My events all seem to be 4 hours of dance music so I feel your pain but I do try my best to break it up with garter and bouquet toss or cake cutting if possible. Then I also use slow songs to space out my sets and give the crowds a break. Many weddings have older people and they can't all dance 4 hours straight.
In Florida, most weddings I do all is up front, 3-4 hour set straight every time it does get stressful at times. When I do break down sets 45min at a time it feels so much easier less stressful for sure!!
I had the same issue with my nimbus with the ac blowing my cloud effect at a few venues. but when you have a long stretch of djing like that you have to go into club mode, and just rock it out like you at a club. it hard but you have to take them on a musical journey, so far you did a good job... not everyone is going to dance but just focus on the ones who are dancing, get a soul train line going etc. make it fun do dance battles etc.
Hey Barr! Glad to hear you back in action. Love the set up as always. I was wondering what had happened to you. My condolences and prayers to you & familia. God bless bro..
I feel you with the 3hr dance sets.. That is actually super common where i am from here in Michigan. I try to use things like the anniversary dance or shoe game to break it up a little. Even then i have a hard time keeping them going. i usually do well the first and last hour but that second hour is often a ghost floor.
Good job , really enjoyed the video and subscribed. How long do American weddings last though? In Germany we basically Start at 9 after dinner and parties last until about 2, or 3 am. So why is djing for 3 hours considered a long time by you? And yes , sometimes there might be no people dancing or just a few but that’s also ok if it’s just for a couple minutes until everybody is ready again ;) Always depends on the amount of guests of course, 40 people are harder to entertain than 100
Hey man missed your videos! That was a great one! For sure!!! Sorry for your loss will keep you and your family in my prayers. Looking forward to your next videos!!
Hey man, well-done! You traveled far for people you know! This video made me realize I need to play more slow songs. I agree that the specific stress about a compact timeline is tough. Keep up the great work brotha! Great job 👍
Dope vids bro, thx for all the knowledge you share. Can I know more about the items for the photo booth setup? The backdrop stand and the monitor/camera setup. Thx
That was awesome! Im dj here at West Palm beach, FL. Done some weddings; but not in these scale. How much do you charge or go about it with so much equipment and expensive at that.
Agreed on the keeping it going for 3 hours. People tire and eventually just need a break. Excellent point. What all do you use your TV's for? Are they being used for pics from the photo booth? I seen images pop up and then blank. So was curious on your thoughts of it. Keep it rocking.
Great gig log. A lot of my weddings i play 9.30pm until 2.30am. I do a small break 11pm for 15 min. Can be horrible if you get a non dancing or older crowd.
oh that's how we always do our Weddings up here in Ontario Canada. Ceremony starts around 3 or 4pm...cocktil till about 6pm.. then we start dancing around 8 or 9pm all the way to 1am.
Hi partner i Didn’t knew about your loss but my sincere condolences!! And thanks for all this videos you made.. I’m taking a lot of tips that you do there.. thanks to you im getting better.. keep doing more we love your Videos.. Saludos Desde Los Angeles ..🇬🇹origin
Sorry for your loss Dj, great seeing u back, and thank you for another video, awesome gig as always, special request please, video about photo booth and video about co2 special effects, setting them up etc Do u connect ur Djm mixer to external mixer? I use Ddj sz and i get better overall sound quality when I connect to external mixer, I have Yamaha digital mixer, I also connect my mics to external mixer as well Thank you
Sick gig. I feel your pain with the up front formalities. Seems like 70% of weddings I'm doing want this format now. It can be rough unless the crowd is awesome. Good call on the smaller c02 tanks. I'm thinking of doing the same Cuz the large one weighs a ton full.
Nice setup, great gig log! Just a few questions, what happened to your monitors? Did you lose signal or did you power them off? Do you intentionally turn them off during the dance?
Another great video and party Barr. I hate, hate when they try to knock out all the events in a row. Not really because of the long set at the end but, what I have noticed is if the guests have to sit through all the events before they get to dance, they actually get tired and some will tend to leave early! To all DJs, review the Timeline beforehand and try to convince them not to do this. Peace out.
Great stuff, DJ Barr!! Condolences to you and your family. Glad to see you are back and you smashed that gig. I certainly empathize on the pressures you talked about but you pulled it off. Keep it up bro ✌🏾
Hey DJ Barr. How are you? I hope you and your family are doing well. I was wondering if you think paying for Serato Suite to be able to video DJ is worth it? How often do you use it on actual events? I want to offer it ( I don't think anyone in my market offers it). Thank you for your time and for making these videos. Stay safe and healthy.
Great video like always! Curious about your dmx controller, you started using the mydmx go but I noticed in this video you're back to the airstream. Are you not using the mydmx go anymore? I was ordering one this week after seeing your video. What's up?? Thanks for your hard work with your videos.
What up Barr! Lookn to start djing myself. Seems like a lot of work though lol besides having all the right equipment to put a show on is there any other tips u would give to a dj aprentice? Or should i just watch all ur videos 😆 Lmk.
Yes yes barr amazing love the setup looked like a really fun wedding. So i sent you message on Facebook i wanted to know if you recommend the microphones you use as in the shure glxd

Did miss you and your gig logs. Thanks Barr. Good video. Great editing and content.
I feel you with the 3hr dance sets.. That is actually super common where i am from here in Michigan. I try to use things like the anniversary dance or shoe game to break it up a little. Even then i have a hard time keeping them going. i usually do well the first and last hour but that second hour is often a ghost floor.
Sick gig log and glad you’re back! Sorry for your loss

Nice setup, great gig log! Just a few questions, what happened to your monitors? Did you lose signal or did you power them off? Do you intentionally turn them off during the dance?
Sorry for your loss man, I lost my Grampa in November and it was a rough patch. Great vid as usual.
Damn that's Pro buddy ! Congrats it's amazing :-)
