Floor Tiling (Cement Motor) - SP Hand Skills Training Video (Hindi)

Floor tiling is a method of finishing a floor surface using different type of tiles. Tiles are used for better aesthetic/ finishing and also act as a wearing coat on floor surface increasing its durability. Different types of tiles are frequently used according to desired nature of floor surface in residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Some common types of tiles are ceramic, porcelain, stone etc.

What is reason now a days tiles, especially vitrified tiles detach after some time. This mostly happen when tile bond has been used on floor. Can you kindly explain

There are several factors
1. Cement needs water to strengthen. Due to tiles water can not be added later on the floor
2. Using tile bond you need to use a notched trowel, later when pressed it will spread over tiles and make a good bond. I have not seen many people using it.
3. Due to gap, people don't use a spacer, due to climate tiles need room to stretch and shrink. If not it will lose its grip.
4. You need a rubber mallet hammer to press it, people are using a wooden handle of the hammer. I will recommend using vibrator pressure.

And for the virtified tiles, people are attaching it without soaking it in water, it will consume water on the mortar and mortar will lose it's strength
